Wasn’t expecting such nice garage-rock chimy but rude tones on clean. Plus as expected it does heavy well, with extra character and gnarliness. Some Vs are a little too smooth on distortion, but this one’s got a more rock & roll rebellious Grandmaw-offending ruder sort of sound. I’m guessing the pups are the more classic PAF type instead of the high output types which sound more sterile and flat. I like it.

In my own guitar modding, I've found that cheap Amazon pickups (Musiclily, Saphue, Fleor, etc) are pretty good pickups and can hang with the big boys! I am loving GFS pickups as well. It really doesn’t need any of those things upgraded and I don’t think it would be worth upgrading this kit at all. The frets are super soft so it won’t play well for long lol
