    • +Lukas Dunaway I'm Dutch myself and even for me the g just destroy's my throat.

      @Therockbrothersmc@Therockbrothersmc8 жыл бұрын
    • +Therockbrothersmc It's 1/2 reasons I've taken a break from the language. Other is I take Spanish in school and don't want to be distracted by one that isn't for a grade. I'd probably take up my time learning Dutch if I could pronounce atleast some of the words right.

      @lukasdunaway8342@lukasdunaway83428 жыл бұрын
    • Lukas Dunaway Well their are a lot of different ways you can talk Dutch, for a small country it really has a lot of accents. Some of them pronounce the g like 'geh' or 'guh'. Oh and you don't have to worry about pronouncing everything right, because there is almost no one who speaks Dutch perfectly xD. But as you said, learning Spanish is more important if it's for a grade. At the moment I'm learning German, just for the sake of it xD.

      @Therockbrothersmc@Therockbrothersmc8 жыл бұрын
    • +Therockbrothersmc Totally agree! You will be easily forgiven if you make a mistake. The Dutch will respect you for trying Dutch so don't worry about too much about not wanting to make any mistakes.

    • +The girl and the planet It is much more easy in the Belgian equivalent. Watch /watch?v=Mn_FFcXEKL4&nohtml5=False 1:23. (Note: The singer is not using standard Dutch but is using a soft Antwerp dialect and the lyrics are written in that dialect as well. His 'g' is standard Belgian pronunciation though.)

    • Well, kind of. The reason you might be seeing a connections between German, English, and Dutch is that they are all Germanic languages. Other Germanic languages include: Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic, and Faroese.

      @reagancourville834@reagancourville8349 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, German, Dutch and English are all Germanic languages. But Dutch, like English, has also been impacted by Romance languages (mainly by French and Latin). Mostly, Dutch receiving a lot of "loan" words from French, just as did English. German, on the other hand, had very little such impact. Consequently, if you put these three Germanic languages on a spectrum, German would be at one end and English on the other end. Dutch would fall in between German and English, but closer to German. But Dutch is closer to English than German is due to the Romance language influence that both Dutch and English experienced that German did not experience.
