Well, I guess it can be seeing as how it can transform into one.
@Selim Monir Lapras though... Idk because even I know what a legendary Pokemon was at 5 years old. I'm still wondering why people keep saying Rotom is a legendary Pokemon when it's not (besides that legend music played during the encounter such was actually am error)
But Mew is fail project and turn into Ditto

Ditto should be s legendary considering it was made the with mews dna trying to make mewtwo and We all know mewtwo is legendary so Why shouldnt ditto be one too
My first shiny was Abra in Pokemon diamond, and seeing that odd colour I simply threw a pokeball and caught it, later realising that it is a very rare Pokemon🥳
Well that’s very lucky Considering abra just keeps teleporting
I did the same thing with a voltorb cuz it looked wierd and I later found out about shinies
I found a shiny feebas, I accidentally killed it. GEN 3 BTW

"HOLY SHIT A SHINY BUIZEL"
MY FIRST SHINY WAS ON A ROM HACK GAME
You forgot 1 mistake. Trusting the anime and sending an el. type against ground types.
I tried to cut a balloon Pokemon (don't know the English name) with razor leaf. It made sense to me but grass isn't that good against flying-types
Or trusting the anime and sending an experienced pre evolved tiny little fire type like Cyndaquil against a giant demon cow with ground type moves, like Whitney's Miltank. Anyone remember that episode? Ash was so stupid and he refused to send back little Cyndaquil and thought he could actually do it XD
I mean "Inexperienced" pre evolved tiny little fire type
Matthias S cut is normal type ( sad noise
Onix's a rock snake natural enemy is an electric mouse!
My bro was playing ORAS and his first find was a shiny zigzagoon. He was so amazed by the coloring and thought it was a special thing you get at the beginning. He caught it, I’m so proud
See thats exactly what i would be thinking if i had no idea what shinys were OH COOL its a diffrent color lets catch it!
My sister make the same
My friend encountered a shiny psyduck, thought it was bad, and killed it. Then, he realized it was a super bad mistake a month later.
Psyduck Is a savage lol
My first ever shiny was a ponyta in diamond, me being 9, i killed it for XP, never thought about it again. Then i came across a shiny illumise in pokemon ruby, me having to completely forget about shiny ponyta i decided to catch it and look online why was it orange. once i found out what it was i instantly remembered shiny ponyta and i felt horrible, but amazed about this whole new thing. i thought i probably would not see another shiny in my playthrough, turns out i was wrong, found a shiny nuzleaf 3 days later. its been 7 years later and im still trying to find that shiny ponyta.
My most embarrassing mistake when I first started playing 20+ years ago was thinking that the glitch animation that happens out of battle when your Pokémon is poisoned meant your game was broken. I reset probably 5-6 times before I realized that hey no maybe my game isn't busted 🤦♂️🤣
Lmaoo I played pokemon sapphire on an old Nintendo DS and I thought this animation was the screen glitching so me as a child would hit the screen to fix it 🤣
I did that as well! I had only played the newer games and I was confused!
loooool
Same. When my Rattata (I think) got poisoned by a Weedle, I rushed to the Poke Center while the screen was glitching. When it started to glitch, I tought ''Oh no. Did i glitched the game?'' Until a message (Idk) appeared when i was near the nurser. So i healed. When my other pokémon got poisoned by something (I think it was Weedle again) I tought. ''Nah, Just a mean that my pokémon is poisoned.''
SAME. And this happened to me until about…10 hours ago
I have an idea where the "mashing A" came from. On the original games, if you entered the casino to gamble, and tapped A to the beat of the music, you almost guaranteed a win every since time. If you don't believe me, try it yourself on yellow, red or blue. The idea of tapping a certain sequence to "win" was probably engrained in people from this experience.
Not true, the results in the casino are determined when you start to play no matter when you tap
No, it is true, I could easily win 10-20x in a row before missing one, then keep going. Might only work on the particular Gameboy I was on due to clock freq, but it was a thing. I think the "music" was just a coincidence. I just tested it as I was typing this, and it is correct..@@tsmblindzo3033

@@kyuremblack6260 Where was your Masterball?
When I was around 10, I had just got Emerald and got to the part where you have to save Professor Birch from the wild Zigzagoon in the beginning of the game. It was a shiny. Definitely a devastating moment in my life knowing I couldn’t prevent it’s inevitable fate.
On me and my brother's FireRed game, he caught a Seel with a masterball, but I also caught a shiny Golbat later on. Still have that shiny Crowbat on my team, and gotta say, the pink looks way better than the green.
I deadass talked to the Pokémon through the mic of my DS while catching them and tried to persuade them to get caught when I was like 8😂😂😭

Lol the first points about moves was so true to me as a kid. Now replaying as an adult it’s like hey when megapod hardens it actually is harder to kill. Then my mind exploded and realized I can make awesome strategies. Just a basic tail whip before a hyper fang for a one shot kill just makes the game more satisfying to play.
I had a version of pokemon Gold where my starter pokemon and the first two pokemon in the wild were shinies. Back in the day I did not know about shinies. I restarted the game and the same thing happened. Such incredible luck. However I thought the game was glitched so I went back to the store and traded the game for Silver...
That absolutely did not happen, the chances for that are stupid.
Maybe it was actually broken
That kinda hurts... Man...

As I found my first shiny in my first Pokémon game, I thought: "Just a weak Lv. 8 thing... but it's sparkling and it's colour is different... I'll catch it." As I found out about shinys I was so happy that I caught it.

The one thing I remember from when I first played Red was fighting and fainting pokemon and not understanding why I didn't have it now. It took me until I got the PokeBalls to realize that I needed to do that. This was gen 1 though, and I'd only seen the anime (where he always caught the wild pokemon he defeated), so I had no idea how the game was supposed to work.
I guess the only mistake I made from this list was only using attacking moves in RBY, but to be honest, you don't really need status or buffs to play the story mode. A few years later when GS were released I made a friend who was into competitive battles and he explained to me his strategies, some of them involving only one damaging move and three setup moves, or 2 and 2, or no damaging moves at all (like using Confuse Ray, Sand Attack, Safeguard, etc). He was extremely annoying to battle but always fun and I learned tons from him
I still use only attacking moves (although I learned to only use special moves on Pokemon with higher special attack and vice versa, as well as to diversify my movesets). And I'm proud.
I am preety sure I only started with evasion moves like sand attack and double team that too because of Lt Surge, his double teams made me realize what was happening and there was focus energy because its easy to see critical hits do more damage so they were the equivalent of swords dance for me even than it was likely not until I played pokemon showdown that I learned so thats what those moves do
I will be added this beginner mistake: Only lvling up your starter pokemon
I did that not just you dude
There are basicly Animations on Pokémon gold with typlosion lv 100 and the rest are like lv12 pigdey
i did that when i was younger in pokemon black and i was never able to get past Cheren because my starter was my only high level pokemon
it went from being a mistake to being a clickbait title on youtube lmao
I did it, it wasnt a mistake
When I was younger I tried to catch a gym leaders Pokemon repeatedly not knowing that you can't catch it.
Even though they explicitly say "Don't be a thief"? :v
Rashid Rumman that flew by my little head lmao
@@Stagzy lol same but then i was like GO TO HELL POKEMON!!!

I still remember my first shiny. It was a cottenee and I didn’t even know it was a shiny at the time since I wasn’t paying much attention. Luckily I did catch it for my Pokédex, and I’m super happy i caught it and later evolved it
The "forgot to save" happened to me once and I lost my Zygarde. I remember going on panic mode and tried to catch it again but this time the ultra balls I had weren't enough. Thank goodness I saved the game before trying to catch it so I went back to the saving point and tried to catch it again. I got it and immediately saved afterwards lmao
Been playing pokemon for over 9 years and I still never use status moves that don’t inflict a condition.
I only use them against mons with bide like when I first got Pokemon diamond and battled a kricketune.
Mah there arent many good moves, sword/-dragon dance are the only one i would think about
Less years (since 2013-2012) same enless im doing some compettitive battling.

Bruh that happens to me too I did that with my chimchar on the beginning of diamond
Never got stuck in the starting room in Pokémon, but I did have a similar issue in my first playthrough of Wind Waker, where I couldn't figure out which house was supposed to be Grandma's at the very start of the game. I'd been in there and then out again several times, not paying attention to the ladder I was expected to climb to meet her. I legit spent 2hrs running around the damn island 😭
During one run of Pokémon Diamond, I just got my starter and bought some Poké Balls. I went into the tall grass and encountered a shiny Bidoof. At the time, I had no idea what shinies were or their rarity. Since I always classified Bidoof as an HM mule, I thought, "Why do I want a Bidoof? I already got one with all the HM moves I need." So, I ran away from it. Years later, after learning about shinies, I realized my grave mistake.

Similar to your Pokémon Gold story - My cousin and I both got our Blue versions at our Christmas Eve party and immediately started playing. When my sprite left the house, I headed straight out of Pallet town and kept getting confused/frustrated as to why Oak was somewhere off-screen telling me I couldn’t leave. My cousin was playing through the game just fine, and when I asked him what he did, he told me I just had to go upwards to leave town. I think he just assumed I’d already gone to the lab and gotten my Pokémon, which in reality I had no idea I had to do and the game wasn’t giving me any type of instruction on that, so I was just stuck 😂 We kept arguing back and forth for a minute before we finally figured out what I did wrong. Yeah, not a good start to my Pokemon journey 🤣
I know this is an old vid but it seems like the right place to put this, games nowadays have felt such lackluster and there hasn't been alot of the same magic there used to be when you start up the game. Recently I've been picking up the remakes of the pokemon games on the 3ds and the switch and its reignited my passion for gaming again.
My mistake: Giving all the experience to the starter Pokemon only

I also had liked Lycanroc as a pokémon when I was playing, so that's why. I had only used the Master Ball on box art legendaries since then.
I remember in FireRed I didn't like using items that weren't healing items, which honestly could be a lot worse when playing Pokemon, but I sold every other item that wasn't a healing item or TM(fun fact, I didn't even know TMs could be sold)

(Edited for extra details) I used my first ever master ball on… a lunatone. I was just struggling to catch it and had never seen that Pokémon before, so I thought it was rare and… yeah. When I realised I couldn’t just get another master ball in the story, I released the lunatone thinking I’d get the ball back. This was Black 2 (my first ever Pokémon game) and I was like… I dunno, 8? I later one-shotted all three Swords of Justice with my partner because my party was SUPER over leveled and I didn’t know what moves were weaker than others. I didn’t even know moves had stats other that some moves never miss. Also, I didn’t use stat changing moves at all cause they “didn’t do anything”. My party was my partner and basically the first five Pokémon of different species I caught, I only changed it early in the game when I caught a Pokémon that looked cool (a Riolu, which is still in fact one of my fav Pokémon).
My brother found a shiny golden Poochyena in Pokemon Emerald back in the days. It was the one in the scripted fight where he had to save Prof. Birch all the way in the beginning of the game, so he had no balls to throw at it and he couldn't flee. The game literally made him kill that shiny.

I now practice saving twice at every centre; if on an emulator I do the savestate as well. The reason... I've lost so much on forgetting to save so many times. Pretty Sure on a playthrough of Emerald I once got all the way from Whitney to the Leagure in 1 inning. I had just got the KO on the final Champion Pokemon and as the health bar hit zero my battery died.... That was a hell of a preplanned race against someone; and lost most of the run.
My cousins were super excited to show me their pokemon games, and new systems, because I was 18, and loved pokemon. My first shiny was suicune in leaf green. I encountered it and because it wasn't in the first 151 pokemon in the pokedex, i thought that it runned from a trainer. Plus it had the stars when you battle it while the others didn't had it. Thus, thinking it belonged to someone else, i run😂
When i was a kid, I remember playing my brother's copy of Ruby version and encountering a shiny whismur. I went to tell him I found a "Glitch pokemon" cuz i had no idea what shiny pokemon were and he yanked the gba out of my hands hella quick to catch it. He caught it luckily because i was scared attacking it would corrupt the game or something
Haha that just made my day
The way I see it, you did the right thing.
i never got stuck in the room, but I did get stuck in the starting town for ruby. I also did the mashing A and B ( I still do it out of habit, lol). the worst thing I did as a noob was trade off a mewtwo for some stupid pokemon like zigzagoon. I never made the masterball mistake, because I made that mistake in other games and became really cautious after that.. if I am not mistaken I used like 3 potions and only poke balls and greats balls my first ever pokemon playthrough.
Never mashed a to catch, but had a different one where I hold b and down when the ball first hits the pokemon and then holding right as well when it starts to shake. Used to be a big rumor around my school lol
Im very surprised you never mentioned how beginners usually just train up their starter and no other pokemon, I was a big offender of that back then
My first game of Pokemon, I ended up doing that. I ended up learning it when my Pokemon got walled so hard
My younger sis isn't a gamer but she'd play Pokemon with me. She'd beat the elite 4 and I was only halfway through the badges. While I stopped to train my team she just blasted through the entire game with only her starter.
I still do that, then proceed to faceroll the game.
I did this for like 10 years dude!
I still do that when playing through older games. But then I use my starter to train my other pokemon by switching out.
You forgot one thing Thinking that *Pikachu* is the *mOsT pOwErFuL pOkEmOn EvEr*

Every other Ash Ketchum
@@ranjodharora6592 Every other Ash Ketchum?
Me: "Pikachu is soooo kyuute! ♥♥" lolz
@Abhinav Kaushal lol
For me it was only using my starter for like up until half the game I used a team but they were extremely under leveled and by the seventh gym and had an almost level 70 sceptile by the time I beat the champion and I just caught the most powerful pokemon in my party and just grinded for like 3 weeks getting them up to standards 😅
8:45 i think i've done this one or two (or more) times, ever since then i remembered to always save but it might happen again since its been a while i've played pokemon on nintendo switch
I admit somewhere there is a Pokemon White save file with a Serperior with only grass type moves. Serperior: Level 79 Moves: Giga Drain Leaf Blade Leaf Storm Frenzy Plant
Same in let's go pikachu my pikachu had thunder thunderbolt thunder wave and thunder shock
@@toastythetiger5452 That would probably be my Pikachus moveset if I had one
My first mistake in pokemon games: I didn't know I had to save the game and the game continued to restart over and over, that became a little frustrating so I decided to keep my nintendo on so I didn't lose my progress xD
I did this
@@deepfreeze202 Those 8MB memory cards needed some prioritising when you were playing multiple games at a time 😂
how did you never notice the fricken SAVE did you even read the book on the table at the start of the game it said "press E for the menu" "click save to save your progress"
I had a yellow game that didn't save(must have been a fake copy) so I had to keep it on and I had to tell my parents to not touch it and I actually one once after so many failed attempts and when I finished it I was like FUCK YOU I WON!
I actually did this once because I had a save file on Pokémon black but wanted to play through the story again, so I played through the entire game without ever switching my DS off once.
The first time I played a Pokémon game (Pokémon Sword) I went onto route 1 and I encountered a Vulpix, I caught it, and then I encountered another Vulpix, it was an ALOLAN Vulpix, the game must have glitched and spawned it and I didn't bother catching it because I already had one. I had NO IDEA what regional forms were, so I fainted it, and now I realize my stupid mistake.
My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Sun. No, I didn't spend 8 hours trying to find the exit to my starting house but I got a hang of controlling my character really quickly. I made most of these mistakes when I was beginning my adventure, and I feel really silly doing these but not that much now that I'm not alone. Edit: One time I kept my game on while I slept so I didn't need to save. I was worried it would die so I kept it charging. I also used my master ball on Solgaleo.
When I was younger, I released my Typhlosion on Crystal thinking it was going to let it out the pokeball like on the TV show
Oof
🤣🤣🤣 me too 🥴🥴😂😂😂😂😂
F to pay respects
I did the same thing to feraligatr. Still hurts
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
mashing A is definitely a rookie mistake. seasoned veterans know holding B is the right move
Damn right
@@andrewstrycker9374 absolutely. right when the pokeball opens up

I never ran from a shiny. But my first shiny encounter ever was a shiny Noctowl in Pokémon Gold. I didn't even know what a shiny was. I just knew that a Golden Noctowl was unusual, so I tried to catch it. Unfortunately it fled 😭
My mum got stuck in the starting house In sword and shield...
Noob
Wait your parents play games?
LOL
lol
LOL
Now I can see why you do so many walking through walls/running through voids glitches. It must’ve been all of that built up frustration from not being able to leave your player’s room for 8 hours lol.
lmao
My mistakes (not sure if they're bad, just recently started playing pokemon, so plz be gentle ;) Also, I've began with FireRed as a first pokemon game): 1. Getting lost in the Viridian Forest with not enough pokeballs. (Lesson 1: Invest in pokeballs.) 2. Catching Metapod in said forest (The thing only had Harden! If someone, ANYONE knows how to train such a pokemon, please tell me and I will be forever grateful) 3. Not checking the levels of wild pokemon before catching them. (I found higher level pokemon had more moves in their arsenal and that's always a good thing and they were usually a few paces away from weaker pokemon. That's how I ended up with a pair of Zubat). 4. Criting a rare encounter (I encountered a Mankey in the tall grass just outside Pallet Town. My Charmander nuked the damn thing. Didn't get another one.) 5. Not saving after a Gym Battle or any important fight before closing the game. 5. Not stocking up on potions and various healing potions once I had enough cash to do so (Underlevelled battles are tough when your pokemon keep dying because you can't heal them or they are useless due to stun, because you don't have paralyz heal or asleep because you don't have awaken or poisoned, because you don''t have antidotes) (Lesson 2: Invest in potions and heals). 6. Misclicking a move. Don't do it. It cost me a Gym battle. (Lesson 3: Look before you click). Also, tip: If you go to Mt. Moon and find a star piece, sell it at the nearest pokemart. The thing's worth over 4000 pokedollars.
In my first pokemon game, a used copy of pokemon pearl, The last player had made it to the sandgem town pokemon center. Could not figure out how to get out of there lmao
I still click the A button a lot when I try to catch a pokemon LOL
Me too🤣🤣🤣
Seems sometging happen but it does not i think it relief us from the thought of not catching it lol
Same XD
Old habits never die. I use my r and l for that
I sometimes press all of the buttons at the same time
"Mashing A does not increase your chances at ca--" We're just gonna ignore that
Me too
Holding A and B simultaneously gang.
I believe that in one of the old Pokemon stadium/trounament games it actually did increase because of a coding glitch that if you clicked A at a particular moment it recognized it as like a catch command. And also didn't Gamefreak like once post some "tips" game magazine that said that help your chances, but it was meant to be more of a reason to interact rather than a legitimate strategy.
Yeah you have to mash B
@@ivanlo3071 No it is A mashing only that works
I could not figure out how to proceed in the game when I first played fire red until 2 to 3 hours after that I remembered that I could search on YT.
I thought I was the only one who got stuck my house in Pokemon Silver! It was my first Pokemon game, though not my first video game, and whilst I got past my room, I couldn't figure out how to leave the house itself for hours. Don't remember how I figured it out, but I do remember the moment of joy at finally getting somewhere.
When i was Younger i killed all the legendary birds because i thinked that they are sucking the kanto energy, and i used a master ball in a onix.
Wow (*claps*)
My biggest mistake was i use 20 hyper potion in a zapdos
Even i used master ball at onix
Hmmm........ zapdos is ****ing
a master ball on magikarp by me m8😅
I still remember being stuck in New Bark Town because as a kid I strictly heeded the warnings about the tall grass-- ...In other words I was an absolute coward.
LOL WHAT
That's actually adorable
+Matthew Morales Look I was a dumbass who had no idea how the game wo r ke d--
I feel you. During my middle school days, I loved the video game for the movie "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" (in German they translated/localized it as "Ice Age - Jetzt taut's!", meaning "Ice Age: Now it melts!"). When I reached the caves with prehistoric spiders, I didn't progress for days, because I was too scared of those spiders!
Would do that as a little kid 2
9:00 thats is so correct because every time im catching a rayquaza i need to do the painful puzzle the bike one and i always forgot to save or my phone die...
I'm happy that I first saw the series then started to wach KZheadrs doing his own series and then playing pokemon
