I made Insane Pool Ball out of Stainless , Copper and Epoxy Resin - Lathe Turning Ball
In this video I make a no. 15 pool ball out of stainless steel , copper and epoxy resin.
After seeing @mymechanics 8 ball video , I told myself that I have to make a ball out of it too because it is very challenging in the machinist field. The only thing I had to do was to find a way to use different techniques from My Mechanics, firstly so as not to copy his work and secondly but not least , those of you who watch our videos, see different techniques but also a different video . So I started thinking about how to make this ball differently, I made the plan and executed it. The result was more than satisfactory, it was a fulfillment of my work and I hope you will like it, both the video and the ball.
thanks for your patience to read this and hopefully you will watch the video. Cheers !
Good job! Which one should I make next?
please add other episodes of datsun restoration..
The cue ball from damascus.
Miss you videos too 😭😭😭
Instead of restoring something old/broken, I'd love to see you design/make something you've always wanted *from scratch.* Something unique to you from your past, the shop, or life outside the shop-anything you like via: *"I make a new one."* Especially if it involved using items you've restored in past videos. jmo
@my mechanics deja vu 😅
Well that was utterly satisfying. Incredible machining skills, patience, and craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing this :)
Glad you enjoyed it!😊
it was satisfying, wasn't it? that's the word I had in mind, too!
@@CoolAgainRestorationI appreciate you taking us on this journey with you!!! My father-in-law left me his cane and I recently broke the 8ball on the end of it. I would love your help to recreate it!!!
Perfect. Just skill. No voice. Its everything I ever wanted in a turning video.
Thanks a lot mate 😊
Incredible! Beautiful. I would love to see a complete set and then actually playig pool with them.
Great idea! Thanks a lot 😊
Would be difficult to pull off, but I'd love to see that too.
it wouldnt work, they would stop dead as they have no rebound
Maybe not. IF they were all the same size as billard balls, less material. @@Dragon359
Wouldn't the harder materials like stainless steel damage the softer material like copper?
Now that two of you have done this, this should be a machinist rite of passage. How long until we have a full set 👀
😅 I don’t know , maybe sooner 😅
Yes, it would be interesting to see how well they play. I expect with the hard surface it would be very similar to a resin ball. The weight may affect play (for good players) as the distance would be different for a similar power.
@@CoolAgainRestoration this has me thinking of different materials for each ball and if I can add my opinion to the pool, a tungsten 8 ball would be amazing. SUPER heavy 👀
A machinist right of passage should include threading with the lathe, not a die. Lmao.
@@joekruger1857 imagine gatekeeping machining
The tool you made for shaping the ball was excellent! Drill a thread in the bottom and you have the mother of all gearshift knobs 😉👍🏻
Thanks a lot mate and glad you enjoyed 😊 that probably is a good idea 👍
Until you go to shift on a hot sunny day!
@@GrayRaceCat I have a metal one in my Mini, so I know the feeling!
Loved that final transformation from the cylinder into a sphere. Very nicely done!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
My man! That is absolutely amazing. The precision is next level. Your work is exemplary. 🙂
Thank you very much mate 😊

We need a full set between y’all too. My mechanics does all the solid balls and you do all the striped balls. That would be absolutely sick pool set
That sound challenging 😈
Can you imagine what shooting a rack of these would sound like.😖
Beautiful. Not just the finished product but your whole process.
Thank you very much mate 😊
I could watch this all day
Glad you enjoyed 😊
Why in the heck was that so captivating??? I don't know, but it was!!!!
Glad you enjoyed Mark 😊
You and my mechanic are one of the best mechanics in the world, I congratulate you for getting better every day 👍🏼
Thank you very much for your kind words 😊
😅😊😊😊😊😊
I love copper, beautiful job! Turning copper on the lathe can really be a pain sometimes, I bet this was a lot of work. But it definitely was worth it! 🙏🏼
Turning copper on the lathe is very challenging every time 😬 thanks a lot my friend and glad you enjoyed 👍😊
@@CoolAgainRestoration Absolutely. But you did the right thing using the sharp Ak A inserts for the copper. Works much better with those
That was a gorgeous build. Nice to see a peice done from scratch vs a restoration. I love to watch a gifted artist, like you, at work! Kudos!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
This type of skill comes with lots of hard work and experience! Keep it up!
I don’t even know what to say at this point! Other than…like…I want one so bad!!!!! Awesome. Brilliant. Amazing. What are you making the pool cue out of??? I’m just speechless. You have officially moved into the artist arena. Also I am so jealous of your tap and die. Just wow. Again I wish you and yours the very best!
Thanks a lot for being here every time , Coby ! And glad you enjoyed so much , I try my best every time! Cheers and hope you are your family are well too 👍
That's so cool! Imagine playing pool with all 15 balls made like that!
We have 8 and 15 , we need to rest of all 😅
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! this video was throughly enjoyable the whole way through please consider making a full series!
I already considered that 😅 thanks a lot
That’s so crazy. The shine/polish is so good at some angles you can’t tell that you are looking at a ball. You just see the ocean and other items. Imagine a game of pool with a whole rack of these. Really beautifully done, very cool.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
these metal cylinders must be pretty expensive
Very COOL! It turned out absolutely beautiful. Thank you, it was fun to watch you make it.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed 😊
Seeing that ball spin at the end was amazing

The beauty of a fusion of copper and stainless steel is amazing! Hello from Japan.
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 😊 cheers to Japan 🇯🇵
Awesome. It takes a lot of work to make so little, but it's fun doing it. Love the 15 logo, like going to the Pennsylvania lottery, or power ball🎱
Many thanks Steve and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
I must say that is very impressive work!

Thanks my friend Alvaro 😊👍
Outstanding!
Thanks a lot mate 😊
Amazing!
I saw both videos and they are wonderful!!!!!
Thanks 😊
Now I want a full set, each ball made by a different restoration/machinist channel. That would be absolutely sick.
Yeah, I felt challenged after I saw my mechanics 8 ball video . So we waited for another channel 😬
Bloody GORGE.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
🤯 That's it! You've blown my mind! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! Superior craftsmanship. Impressed BEYOND EVERYTHING!!! Now you need to make the rest so you can shoot some pool/billards.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊 cheers mate
Holy frig it turned out beautiful 😍🤩 i do wish da copper stood out a bit more but it honestly looks as if it were shiny glass as it is. Well done sir 👏👏👏
Thank you very much Sir 😊
Truly amazing machining skills shown brother, well done indeed! Thanks again as always for your great videos. God bless. Rev. D.
Thank you very much for being here every time 😊

Thank you too and glad you enjoyed 😊
I like the new 15. Nice work with the copper and stainless friend.
Thanks a lot Michael 😊
Wow so satisfying to watch! It would be cool to have a whole set for display!
Probably I will make all the balls 😬
@@CoolAgainRestoration OUTSTANDING!
I was impressed by the time you got the number 15 done
The “C” shape of the 5 was very challenging. I tried first time on a brass part like a test and was made perfectly from first time. Then I tried on stainless steel and I made mistake , twice 😅 but in the end I reached a good result
Stunning work 💯🙂
Thanks a lot mate 😊
Amazing job!
Thanks a lot 😊
Absolutely incredible 😳
Thank you very much Tom 😊
Amazing job and so satisfying ❤❤❤
Outstanding work. The ball looked translucent in the high gloss test segment. Im impressed. 👍
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊

Your videos are far more mind calming than meditation lol
Thanks a lot 😊
Great work as always 👍👍
Thanks a lot for being here 😊
Wow, excellent results and best of all this was done "old school" without any CNC.
Yeah , I didn’t wanted to use the CNC because I wanted to give people something nice to see 😇
Un video nou foarte bun ca de obicei😃
Multumesc frumos 😊
Great craftsmanship 👍
Thanks and glad you enjoyed 😊
Wow ! - That is truly some machinig expertise - 100 *s. Attaboy there !

Ok, that was really cool. I especially like the tool you made for spherical shaping.
