The right exhaust opens up above 3000 rpm
It's an entertaining video. I think this is one of the few people in the world who knows less about cars than I do.
To start the petrol engine, you just push the throttle when in neutral and it will start. If you want to see the rpm, you just flick the gear stick into manual and the clocks change to rpm.
My 2017 530e shows the engine revs when you select the sport mode. The digital dials are a little bit different in mine though. Another bad point is I can't get a tow bar for this vehicle which I need at the moment. Other than that it's a cracking car!
The purpose of a PHEV is *not* to charge the battery by consuming even more petrol (which it does when using Battery Guard mode). Instead the outer plug *is* the right place to pre-charge the battery using an environment-friendly power source, in addition to using recuperation and anticipatory driving style.

Actually the combustion engine starts when I put the car in manual mode. However once I put it at park, the combustion engine stops and it returns to the battery. Even if I press the sport button after that, it still remains in the battery. Is there any way to make it remain in combustion engine without keeping it at manual mode throughout the time I start it for 5 minutes without moving it ?
QUESTION: is there a wheel lock on the tires. Have to replace a tire but can’t find a lug unlock but.
Is there a digital speed read out in the normal comfort mode?

My question is … I’m saving to buy next year a series 5 2017. I would love the 520D but it’s so hard find one with sunroof and clear leather interior but I can find lots of that hybrid . Few of my friends have BMW and they say it’s shit the Hybrid once the engine won’t survival so long as the Diesel one . What is your opinion ? Is the hybrid good our better go on Diesel ?

The battery control mode spends a lot of fuel. I charge every day and commute every day in pure electric mode. Also, a four cylinder engine will never sound powerful. These guys doesn’t seem to be competent
Sure they aren't competent and doing reviews on a beginner/amateur level. However I didn't quite get the charging time in 20 minutes to full while driving. Is it actually possible?
@@MrAndrei4777 theoretically probably possible , if you set a target to do it. Accelerate, break hard, accelerate, break and so on- hehe. In real life i would get about 7km electric range having driven 27km in battery charge mode, which would take about 30 min in motorway / city mix. So to charhge full would need about 2 hours drive.

If i only drive full Electric when its full charged it takes about 3-4 hrs to be finished. Is it possible ??

Obviously did not read the manual, I have the M sport 2018 model and my petrol engine revs in sport mode?
If you pull the shift knob to the left (to yourself) then the engine will start because the car is in sport automatically, You can rev and also switch up or down bij pushing forward and back.
you cant rev in manuell mode, cause its in gear lol

Battery control mode also uses a lot of fuel. My car gets 29mpg, in battery control it drops to 19mpg

Your mpg seems a bit low, but your right charging off the engine ruins economy and makes having a plugin hybrid rather pointless.
For start you need to press gass and brake at the same time
You can actually rev the car by putting it in N and pressing the gas pedal. First the engine will start and after that you car rev it!

no reviews ever say what it is like on the fuel/electric! how much would you spend pw on fuel & electric combined if i charge? i do 100miles a day. i want one if these cars HELP

has it a year and knows fuk all about it??? charging the car while driving eats your fuel economy einstein, thats why it has a charging cable, also stick it into neutral and you can rev it...the other exhaust fires up over 3000rpm,

I found a 2020 in this exact condition with more equipment for €53.000 (20.000km, 1 year old, official retailer!)
Only one exhaust pipe works at idle. When you drive it and get the rpms up the other one opens up.
I have a 530e and it´s wrong what is said that does not have a Rev. indicator. USE SPORT MODE and you will have REV. indicator ! Another thing, it is pretty usefull the Plug-In charge port because when charging with petrol engine ( yes it´s very fast indeed ) the consumption is higher ! So, by using the charging port ( takes 3 to 4 hours ) it will become cheaper !

No. Ev mode doesn't do that much miles. Up to 29 miles on the newer model or 16 on the 2018 version I have. Hybrid mode if Ur lucky will do 50 mpg
Why would you want to 'rev' the car when it is idling?
So you can show off... or please yourself with the sound
How do I get it to self park?
- Your car must have the "park assist" option. Not all vehicles have it.
530e or 530d? Consider torque of diesel and reliability…so?
- The 530d is more fuel efficient and has more torque
@@betitos11 530d also has a 6 cyl 3.0 litre engine, sounds much better. Correct label for 530e should be 520e.

Car has one very BIG broblem. Does anyone knows what?
1. You can rev the car in neutral 2. Second exhaust opens up at higher RPM 3. The plug in is most definitely NOT USELESS. Using battery control to charge the electric motor uses a lot of petrol, which defeats the purpose of an PHEV. Bmw themselves recommend that you charge the car as much as you can. I personally use only hybrid mode setting and charge it all the time. Going easy on the gas and not using too much AC gets me around 45-55km of electric only. Terrible review, and very annoying and shitty music in the background.
Does the car always have to be charged or can I drive it on gas everyday

OK, so clearly somebody doesn’t realize that energy costs for electricity are typically much lower than for gasoline, especially if your daily mileage is less the the 530e range. Sheesh.

it’s just that if we are talking about a hybrid and their marketers promise some kind of fabulous minimum consumption, but in the end this is not true, if we approach the supposedly environmental friendliness of this car, then in comparison with other modern even diesel cars it is not so environmentally friendly, if we talk about the environment, well, let's ban formula one because they have completely different emissions, let's ban all rally cars, get rid of airplane ships, well, everyone understands that this is complete nonsense, electric cars are still charged from a power plant that uses the same gas, also oil the same fuel oil, because no one says that in 3-5 years you will need to dispose of the battery, which is not the most useful thing, but quite the opposite, super toxic.. I think the future belongs to the Chinese solution when the diesel gasoline engine acts like a generator, the car runs on electricity with normal power reserve with normal power + 500 horsepower plus and with the ability to travel 1,000 km on one charge or filling the tank while these BMWs are very crude and unfinished and are not worth much attention .. but we are all people, so we are ready to pay money just for the brand

You can do it but it would be pointless. The car would consume more driving like that then a 530i with similar performance would. The point of this car is plugging it in every day and drive on cheaper electricity. It's also mostly suited for people who don't drive much long distances most of the time. It's perfect for someone that has to drive 15-20km to work every day. Pure on electricity you will almost get there and back again. On auto hybrid you can get there and back while only consuming a very little amount of petrol on top of the electricity. When your commute is longer this car doesn't makes a lot of sense. You'll be better of buying a 530i or 530d. They'll run cheaper (unless you get tax benefits but this varies from country to country...).

i don't understand the sense to buy an (ugly) vehicle like the 5 series and not getting the few reasons that move to buy over last gen 3 series, the bower wilkins sound system and the massaging seats.
