  • For the people who say women shouldn't be in combat I agree to disagree. If a women shows she can pass the male standards with no privileges I think she has the right to join and be respected as a soldier. If they have to lower the standards then they shouldn't join.

There was a female specialist in an MP 3 gun truck element, there weren't many females that we considered equal. But this soldier was as mean and deadly in the gunners position as any combat male, She was quietly respected by us. Never assume anything let the actions dictate the respect.

  • Odd that you put up a picture of Ashley Pullen next to SGT Hester and say nothing of Hester herself. That's Leigh Ann Hester, the first woman since WWII to receive the silver star medal for valor, and the only woman ever to be awarded it in CQB (that is, the first and only for valor for actually fighting instead of 'just' bravery under fire); she was caught in an ambush and, along with two other soldiers who also were awarded the silver star, fought back and killed 27 attackers, wounded 6 more and took 1 prisoner. I mean, you know, she's the only one who's gotten the award for actually fighting, so you show a picture of her and then say nothing about her.

    @integralmath@integralmath6 жыл бұрын
    • The proposition of the title was the most badass. By any measure of the concept, Hester beat the soldier in the picture with her. It's not a matter of what I'd choose; it's a matter of empirical fact. Thanks for playing though, slick.

    • David Elliott That's quite a stupid way of looking at things. You're essentially saying that people shouldn't receive critical feedback and whoever disagrees with this video's list should shut their mouths and get lost. If everyone did that then nobody would ever improve.

  • You missed out Captain Nancy Wake (aka "The White Mouse"), member of SOE and the most decorated female soldier from WW2. She led many Partisan attacks on German forces in occupied France and even killed a German SS Sentry with her bare hands to prevent him from raising the alarm during an attack.

  • Thank you very much!! These womens lives. Their adventures in combat. Had me rocking with joyous laughter. Nothing inspires me more than valor. Than the qualities of heoroinism these women demonstrated. And there are many, many more tales which will come to light as they should. My favorite heroins are Joan of Arc, and my mom. Peace.

  • "7 Most Badass Female Soldiers" video not featuring Milunka Savic, recipient of the French Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour) twice, Russian Cross of St. George, British medal of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael, Serbian Milos Obilic medal and the sole female recipient of the French Croix de Guerre with the gold palm as well as Karadorde Star with Swords (also twice), who fought the entire WWI despite being wounded a total of 9 times. A missed opportunity to say the least...

  • Watched this with my wife- while women aren't allowed in our unit I'd be proud to serve with any of these women. what some of you knuckleheads don't get is we no longer has a linear battlefields- Rear echelon troops that we often mess with (friendly) are no longer in the rear with the gear and we spend time now training them (on occasion) on some of the same things we learn. The world is changing and women are part of the service we can't ignore the fact that they are getting shot at as well. We just need to ensure standards don't drop, out of some type of PC bullshit.

    • Here is a thought; base the standards on how many boots you need filled. Set the standards to where you are getting just enough male soldiers and open it to women. If that MOS is lacking people then knock off a push-up here or a few seconds off the run there and just have that one standard for males and females.

    • @Marrowbones That would be the fault of men, they didn't allow women to help fight the battles the men started, so of course more men have died. It can be assumed that anyone with a comment like this has either never read a history book or is hopelessly stupid.. perhaps both!

      @tape2518@tape25185 жыл бұрын
    • @Marrowbones check stats man, no woman has ever made it through or been a seal, that's documented. So there's no way they kept getting lowered standards and repeats until passing or they would be seals, sooo your wrong there, as for the rest pretty accurate 👍

  • I see a lot of negative comments from men who are butt hurt that there are women getting more action then them. Also notice most talking trash have never been in a combat zone but most likely in the rear with the gear.

  • Maybe i misunderstood your scope andntimeline, There are almost as many African female warrior queens as there are men, They played important roles if not leading in most of the liberation struggles over the 1000 years of colonialism, Just as an example Mbuya Nehanda Nyakasikana eventually gave herself up in order to protect her people from being killed, she was hanged. Woman being heroic just isn't new, Ps also include native American warriors, also Artemesia and not forgetting other cultures and continents that would be beautiful,

  • I know there are some awesome females in the military. Many that I would gladly serve with. What is considered exceptional service above and beyond. And with all due respect to these ladies this behavior is expected of males it is not exceptional most go unnoticed. Again these women are hero’s I’m not attempting to deminish their heroic actions they are certainly deserving. It’s only to shed light on the difference between exceptional and expected
