  • This Harley Quinn just proves a really good point; female comic book characters are just as good, if not better than men. Harley is the definition of badass, she’s iconic, she doesn’t care about the rules and she’s completely mad. Harley also proves that she doesn’t need the Joker to be an icon or a badass.

    @bellend1334@bellend13342 жыл бұрын
    • Harley is literally codependant of the joker, her codependency is actually her core character trait which is also her biggest character flaw. In one comic she was about to kill the Joker but he just said sorry and she immediatly dropped the knife and threw herself at him again, so she actually DOES need the Joker, that's what her entire character is about.

      @pats3212@pats32122 жыл бұрын
    • This movie is a feminist trash, for women who hates men in some degree, but they depend on them. Men are bad. Even her father, just because yes. Oh look at that, a bad woman, ah, is a nun, so is ok. Harley does not prove anything but she needs a hyena because she´s so fucking dependant to the Joker. The new suicide squad movie. yessss, that´s a good movie. That´s a good Harley. So happy with that new movie. After all is Guardians of the Galaxy´s director, who makes good movies for everyone and not political trash.

I love how she's a complex character that is also able to have fun and learn about herself. It's nice to see her find ways to cope with the bad breakup and meet new friends along the way. SS did Harley so dirty by only focusing on her body the entire movie.

    @b1njjj95@b1njjj953 жыл бұрын
    • She literally has no character development here, it's just stuff happening to her. Complex. That made me laugh, honestly. Also which version of SS you watched that focuses on Harley's body so much? I can tell you, it's neither theatrical or extended cut, I think you got some *other* version. Outside that one joke when she dresses in front of everyone, which focuses on her body for like two seconds, I don't recall rest of the movie having any specific "dirty" body shots of Margot, it was mostly her doing action scenes.

      @njmfff@njmfff3 жыл бұрын
    • @@njmfff I think you need to re-watch SS, because you obviously missed those scenes that were in plain sight. For fuck's sake, you see it in the trailers how they focused on her body! 🤦🏾‍♀️ There is a very specific scene in SS when Harley changes in a male dominant area and the camera follows her body as she undresses. You see the men looking at her hungrily. Also, unless you're blind you can fully see that she is sexualized in SS based on her outfit alone and the way the male characters interact with her. The camera angles of her butt when she bends down don't help either, and she's basically pimped out by the Joker in one scene. In this movie Harley focuses on getting over Joker and re-discovering herself. She learns to have fun again and do things for herself.

      @b1njjj95@b1njjj953 жыл бұрын
    • @@b1njjj95 Nah, it's just you, you go out of your way to make something sexual or get offended by. Just because you find something sexual or "offensive" it doesn't mean it is, and other people might not find it sexual or offensive. You're not the center of the universe. I could care less about her butt shot, or her shorts, if I wanted to watch Margot being sexual, I'll just watch her scenes in Wall Street or her other five-six movies where she appears nude, not scrape for butt shots in SS. Also, you completely missed the point of "male dominated area" (for fuck sake, just say prison, you don't sound more intelligent if you use more words or gender study terms), it's there to show you that Harley is lot more intelligent and SANE then she leads on, and she's trained psychiatrist and knows how to manipulate people and push their buttons. Her Joker plot is there to show you she has symbiotic relationship with Joker, and she's able to reform in separated from him for some time, but only to revert back to her criminal persona if she gets into contact with him. Both were always the very core of her character in comics as well.
