@@tw7cks he was in his back pocket Scott twine was disappeared against taf
One of the main differences between pros and amateurs is how quickly they identify weaknesses. In the shooting drill, It took Ryan about 3 attempts to realise the keeper doesn't like getting down low. Kieran never seemed to clock even though a lot of his strikes were technically really good
well.. like pirlo said, football is played with ur brain, ur body is just tools.
Tornike Mefarishvili _?
What I'm sure about the difference of pros and amateurs are always their mental skills. In FM I saw a lower league player with 20 dribbling, the same as Messi but their mental skills are really different. Another best example breakdown I've seen was in anime. An amateur would always stick to a plan. Pros have the flexibility and cunning to improvise the plan. Like if amateur see an open man, they will immediately pass it. If pros, they might just passed to the 3rd man instead to minimize risk and probably open up bigger space on the open man. Make it a comfortable 2v1 instead of riskier 1v1.
Do you have any tips on how to train yourself to notice them quicker or for it to be easier?
@@christinacarroll130 Sorry, I’m shite myself 😂
I was doing a career mode back in FIFA15 and this guy was my main target for a transfer window, tried everything but he would reject me... Nice to see him again 😂
That’s hilarious
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
As someone who's still playing FIFA12, i completely have no clue 😭
He seems like a really nice humble guy giving tips and stuff
I’m so tired of people praising footballers for not being assholes during interviews, videos etc. it’s the literal bare minimum.
looks like a greek god
Ryan seems like an absolute stand-up sorta guy. Never cocky, never too smug, and always willing to give a tip! Please have him on the channel again when he's free!
A 66 overall is closer to Messi than a Sunday league player is to them
Well said mate

FIFA stats and ratings are so weird. We all know that deep down they mean nothing and often don't align with a player's actual skillset. But personally, when I watch the prem, I can't stop but think of the players and their ratings when I watch the matches. Sometimes it's like "Oh damn that was decent for a 77 non rare", but in the end EA is often way off.
yea especially for the lower league players
Aside from the very best of the best I'm telling you, the difference in skill is very minimal between nearly all pros. What sets apart a decent PL player from a National League one is more often than not mentality
@@hoverx7601 i think it’s in proportion though, like a league 2 player compared to like ronaldo or messi is obviously gonna be like 60 rated, in reality even a league 2 player is levels above others at the end of the day ea ratings are stupid but oh well
Fr
The thing is that a 70 rated player and an 80 rated isn't that different, that's a championship player Vs a mid tier Prem player and both are some of the best athletes in the game to have made that far. An amateur wouldn't even get 10 rating.
I played in a 7x7 league in the USA where a former A league Brazilian player also played for fun. No one could pass him. He dribbled everybody. Scored whenever he wanted. It was seriously like playing against children for him. It's such a different level of game. And he wasn't even trying that hard.
Who was it?
@@alexandrefrancofilho5041 Ibson - Flamengo
I've dreamt of being that good since I was a kid. Being able to score whenever I want
68 rated card
it’s crazy to see someone who is 6’5 ways much more than Kieran, faster and better technically in every way even attacking, it shows the levels to being pro, even as a defender he’s smatter and more technical at attacking than Kieran, and he’s not even playing the highest level! Pros are insane rare breeds dude.
Yeah even in dribbling and changing direction, I mean the difference between them wasn‘t much just 1 sec in dribbling and like 1 sec on changing direction but you have to realize hes 6‘5 and thats crazy, imagine him being more agile than lionel messi or diego maradona
what did u expect then?? lmao kieran is terrible if you are honest
Kieran should have used his two feets in that test, he lost a lot of time using only his strong feet, look at the player, when he needed to go left he used his left feet, when needed to go right he used his rigt feet, that is basic, i am amateur also and we train that everyday
@@ezenatiello2017 That's a really good point that I didn't even notice until I read your comment. Ryan's dribbling just _felt_ like it was smoother than Kieran's, which translated to a better time, and I think it was for the exact reason you pointed out.
@@aray337 it is the most direct path look how many adjust Kieran needed to do because of him using just his right foot, the player always a touch foward until the change of direction
Ryan seems like a a genuienly chill guy!
hes a top guy!
Keep in mind, he's a league 1 player 😅, never mind a PL level player, and never mind a starter for the big 6. Just goes to show you how shit we really are. Keep in mind, he was probably slightly half assing all of these challenges too.
Pretty sure Messi is better than all of the big 6 pl teams players
@@4tchilling956 what is the point you are trying to make? and messi isn't in his prime anymore
Bro i think people dont understand that a 40 rated player would still absolute destroy anyone hes still a pro. Im not even a pro yet and the difference between me and usual amateurs is already unreal.
Hes better than maguire who play for big 6, doesnt matter what league bro, if hes pro hes already another level. Fifa rating is bias cuz of they give famous league higher stats than like this dude league, when irl its just slight difference in skills
I like these videos because it reminds us how good some people can get at specific things. There are 130k professional soccer/football players globally and 275 million players. That means the top 0.05% are professional. In reality, it's probably generous to call most of them professional (e.g., not enough money to live on) and it's probably closer to 0.001%. Go play another game and see how good you can get (in percentiles) - getting top 1% is usually *hard*, but going to 0.1%, 0.001% is orders of magnitude more difficult.
One of the most important things I found from my playing days and then subsequently going into coaching. The biggest difference between your professionals and just very good amateurs was always the understanding of the game, it’s why we’re thankfully looking towards intelligence as much as raw physical attributes at youth levels in this country now. It’s so painfully obvious in the one on one drill, and that’s not a dig at Keiran. For any young players, developing an understanding of the game and of your position tactically, is as important as running drills day in, day out.
An anime pointed out that pros often can improvise a plan on the fly. Is that true? An example the anime show was with shooting. After picking a target, an amateur will always shoot it there regardless but a pro can change the target on the fly after seeing the keeper movement. The anime also pointed out that pros are cunning. The quote was "You don't need to always get 5 goals after 5 shots on target. Just make sure half of that went in." That forward proceed to demonstrate 3 half-assed far post shots before scoring easy shots after planting the keep with the far post idea. I do find the cunningness is exaggerated 😂 But I kinda agree with the mind flexibility to change target. Best example I come up with is whether to pass to an open man or using a 3rd man. I figured clever players who can started a potential 2v1 is pro material.
@@AIIXIII0 I mean, better players usually can take decisions way more quickly than worse players And when you’re talking about a pro, he should be able to take decisions on the spot So partially yes, pros are betters at improvising and choosing the best options Specially when you’re so good at something that you’re already able to memorize its patterns and tendencies (in other words, having a great understanding of the game), the level of conscious thinking needed to take the best decision is severely lowered
@@sla7889 The pattern recognition is interesting. There’s something similar in chess, where a grandmaster can glance at a position and instinctively know the weaknesses and which moves are worth deep thought. They can explain their thought processes, and amateurs can generally follow, but the snap judgement is a mix of natural talent and years of training.

At this point, I think people underrate how good players even in lower divisions are. For some people, the level of skill is Premier League quality and... Everyone else
yeah they are hella underrated some people forget that they are a pro for a reason no matter in which division they play

Yes, the players can be as skillfull. But the difference is consistency and level of opposition. Also a little bit of luck is involved.
Love this series and showcasing different kinds of pros!
As a Wycombe fan I love this taking on taf and I love how Kieran doesn't just look at like the prem players he also looks at other leagues love it I'm on taf for the rest of the season ill be there for most Edit: tysm for 19 likes!!!!

wtf ive been watching him for a year and just noticed im not subscribed 💀
Ryan Tafazolli, in my words, is underrated, I think the only reason his rating is 66, is because of the pace and the dribbling, I think it should be higher, up to like 73-74
Agree. He's defo better than League 1. Being in tots and the highest rated CB in league 1 means he's gotta be playing at least champ football

Absolutely great video! This shows the difference between KZhead and an actual player. I’d like to see this but against someone who is not a pro but plays at the top level of grassroots, below league 2/the national leagues (I don’t know what that’s called in England)
thank you mate! - I had this idea in the pipeline actually, i think it would be a really interesting test!
@@KieranBrown get Jamie Osborne on the e channel !
@@KieranBrown The real eye opener for guys who have never played football themselves and think it's easy to become pro, would be seeing you or another KZheadr play in an actual like 6th division football match. Maybe some club would be willing to let you play in a friendly. Doing dribbling drills is one thing, but seeing someone play in an actual match shows the actual level that it takes to become pro.
Fabulous Vid shows where we amateurs really stand, also good ones like Kieran
What a well executed video! Just top level all the way through.
BROOO thankyou so much, this really helped and the tutorial was really easy to use as well :)
Never knew he had a channel 😦 Been watching the Pompey vlog now! Great vid Kieran 😁
dribbling 101, you sprint towards the defenders centre of gravity then quickly change direction at the moment they have to commit. a lot of people try to dribble away from players but this actually makes it easier to defend against you or force you into a area where theres no danger.
i like these type of videos :) good work

It is not just talent. Ryan trains everyday, probably twice a day. You could improve dribbling and shooting by training more and strength you can improve at the gym. Even defence positioning you can improve with good advice from a good defender like Ryan.

Very good video, and very interesting way of analyzing a defender on this level in comparison with an amateur player.
I used to live down the road from Wycombe training ground and played there once with school. Awesome to see it closeup again
4:06 in the tackles test you can see an advantage based on the PRO body, but then you have players like Messi and it shows how skills affect the outcome.

Congrats on 2 million I subbed 😎
He's giving great advice about attacking with pace.
For the strength test, one of your arms should have been on the inside. Letting him put both arms in and you on the outside gives him complete control and greatly reduces your strength. This is fundamental in wrestling. He would probably still win but notes for next time 👍
This men deserves a 80 overall

TAFAZOLLI MY IDOL
That was a great one!
Bro I grew up in Mansfield Pennsylvania USA and I always plays Mansfieldtown FC he was always one of my favorite players haha
Fun video, and Ryan is a great teacher
A typo in Physical, probably someone already mentioned it. GREAT video. Being an amateur myself I'd say the hardest thing when facing players better than you is keeping the pace for 90 or 120 minutes. There's a huge physicality factor to it.
What are the rules regarding pushing, shoving and boxing out in football? Is it only allowed during set pieces? How much contact with dribbler can you have?
It's shoulder to shoulder, when you see someone pushing or shoving an opponent and the hit isn't directly shoulder or arm against arm the referee can call it a foul. Sometimes the referee is far away and might not see the foul clearly or is from a weird angle but each time you see a referee calling a "soft" foul it might be bcs the guy who challenged physically didnt hit his shoulder against his opponent but rather hit shoulder against the opponent's back/chest etc.
Taffa is a legend
Great video you do really see the difference
