That's absolutely NOT true. They do it all the time. (Coaches in any discipline do it ALL the time.) The thing is opera singers usually sound AWFUL singing other genres OUTSIDE of opera. And also, people WITHOUT musical ear tend to overrate ANY opera singer and most of the time they're really not THAT good. This girl DOESN'T fall in any of those two categories though, she''s SUPERB!
@@elbigotesdelatienda I beg the differ...I was a singer here in Seattle through some of the best singers in our lifetime. Allot of the greats from around here all took opera lessons as children (Chris was older) and all from the same teacher. The Heart sisters, lane Staley, Chris Cornell, and Geoff Tate from Queensriche... I know others who also took lessons him but not anyone you would have heard of ... Kenny G took lessons in breathing techniques from the old dude also. I forget his name but probably wouldn’t be hard to find.

Omg I'll never hear that song the same way again! That was the rock opera of my dreams. I don't think those judges really understood what they had. Totally a missed opportunity. She should play with more rock and rap. Her voice comes across as thin and shrill on pop songs like Megan picked. But rock and/or rap mixed with opera will let her shine.

Same, i legitamately had goosebumps, which is the exact kind of reaction her performance aimed for, to have a intense and eerie feel and leave the audience stunned, and she did that. I dont know what kind of performance the person that was chosen instead had but i fully feel she should have gone through instead so that Will could polish the diamond that she is further
Claudillea is amazing! Unfortunately she'll have to carve her own path, this type of show can't handle her, or do her justice, but I love Will's reaction when the beat drops!

Claudillea is an example of a talent superior to all of the judges combined. You could see that their brains couldn't even cope with the skills and power she has. They had no idea how to work with her because she is simply beyond them. Her "painted black" was jaw-dropping, and she came up with the idea for it all by herself. Her "coach" just sat back and took credit for it.

Will is a musical artist... he thinks outside of the box... allot of rappers don't just stick to rap... most people who love music, no matter the genre, will sing, or listen to other genres for inspiration. Ik, I sing, and I listen to everything... it helps me brush up on my vocals😊🌹

I’m pretty sure Megan picked Blaize knowing full well that she could keep them both in the competition since she was almost positive Will would steal. Honestly a brilliant play on her part

Will seemed to be hesitant to steal her and kind of disappointed in her “Paint it Black” performance. Where was the excited Will from the blind auditions?
@@LadyRockville I think once he saw how unique she was instead of feeding into that he has to try and conform her. Which she wasn't about to do.
@@LadyRockville I thought he was trying to play it cool and not have it look like she was his favourite this time. Like a teacher having a favourite child, and it being obvious to the rest of them. Making it look like Megan thought of Blaize and Claudillea equally, and like it was a difficult decision.
@@LadyRockville I think he waited before the steal to put in a "dramatic pause" so that it wasn't obvious. The look between him and Meghan after she picked Blaize communicated so much. They were confirming he was going to steal her. Edited to add: I suspect that Will stealing her was the deal from beginning. I think Meghan turned because Will couldn't, safe in the knowledge that she could pop her into a battle against someone she definitely wanted to keep and Will would steal her. That way, Claudillea could be on the show.
Not only an amazing voice, but she is also chock-full of stage presence and charisma.
Claudillea, my daughter was classically trained in opera. She’s coloratura, just like you. Same age as you too. She can’t perform on stage anymore due to developing debilitating performance anxiety from all the pressure and expectations. Your performance has brought me to tears because I’m so proud of you and your accomplishment, just as proud as I’d be if you were my own daughter. I wish you the best and may you soar high with your beautiful, angelic voice. I’m so happy you’re bringing opera to the younger generation and making it like you said, cool ❤️❤️❤️
I’m similar to your daughter! Classically-trained, not specifically in opera, but in the genre. Legit musical theatre, too. (Im not sure what voice type of soprano I am). I’m only a few years younger than your daughter and Claudillea, but somewhat like your daughter, I didn’t enrol in a classical Bachelor of Music Vocal Performance program because of my social anxiety disorder. I was not meant to do performance at this time in my life, and that’s okay! I have a rewarding (and taxing) Hospitality career envisioned in front of me, which I was created exactly for. I aim to build enough influence to work in the ethical and social justice side of supply chain fashion retail, and I know it’ll involve tons and tons of public speaking, but that’s why I’m learning to manage both my social and generalised anxiety disorders now while I’m still in uni, in my 20s. But of course I’m not letting go of my voice, while I’m at it. No way. Just because that dream died, it doesn’t mean I should drop the activity altogether. I keep singing, keep exercising my vocal fold muscles, on the side, and have been working on my chest mix self-taught so I can sing other styles of music without it sounding off. In September, I’m due to go to Singapore to continue my hospitality management degree at my uni’s first international campus, and I heard that in Singapore they have a fantastic Performing Arts scene, and even a nice classical conservatory. Once my anxiety is managed more, I might look into performing a bit, in my free time!

The politics of the show kills gifted talented people. In many ways, the Voice is no longer a viable platform for gifted singers. Some have correctly surmised that Claudilla was so well-coached and way above everyone else in the competition and as Tom said, they didn't know what to do with her because she is so gifted, talented, and out of their league. I am happy that her self-produced album will be out this summer and from what I can tell it's going to turn the music industry upside down. She is taking Opera to a whole new level and bringing young people back to classical music like ELO and Queen did years ago. She is a gift to the world and not many of these gifts come along in a lifetime. The Voice screwed up, missed the mark, and shot themselves in the foot by letting her go. Does anyone really remember any of the other contestants? No, this girl was the winner by far!
I agree with you totally ! They really screwed up by letting her go !! It’s really sad that she has to get there on her own, but getting there on her own will make her reach the top with RESPECT & DETERMINATION ! She will be above ALL who get there with help !!
Better that she's going to be independent, instead of being owned by the Network. She got the exposure she needed for all of us to look forward to her first album!

She is definitely a breath of brilliant fresh air with her one of a kind multifaceted gifting. The exposure is what she needed not The Voice promotion. She's in a category all her own. The right supporters will be drawn to her light.

Mario Lanza was doing this in the 1950s, it’s nothing new. He sang all the great tenor arias as well as the pop music of his day. One of the greatest voices ever.

I have to agree with other commenters that the judges had not a clue how to handle her. Her vocal range, her state presence and her vocal abilities were far beyond what they were used to working with. This young lady will go places even with being passed over by those judges.
I wish she auditioned for The Voice US coz Kelly is the only mentor/judge that can handle her amazing talent. Claudilla has a massive talent & deserves more recognition. Will definitely watch out for her future endeavors.

I have always been a fan of those "famous" opera pieces but this blew my brains out the ears and it took me hours to pick myself back up again.. It is such an amazing feeling to hear sound that you can't explain.. It's not audio.. It's senses. I can hear colors now. Absolutely insane! I hope to see her get recognized as a massive star in the coming years.

Despite her complete greatness in singing Mozart, Claudillea's actual masterpiece was her singing of "Paint It Black." It was a total shame that she didn't advance further and get the opportunity to sing in the final! Her cover of "Paint It Black" was truly out-of-this-world in its breathtaking inventiveness! Claudillea is a living, breathing, singing genius - of that, there can be no doubt! Her version of "Paint It Black" is one of the all-time best performances ever done on any singing show - at any stage - be it blind auditions, quarter-finals, semi-finals, or finals! Claudilllea is a tremendous talent and I hope she soon returns to the Voice UK or a comparable show, such as Britain's Got Talent or America's Got Talent. I think she would slay the field!

Our girl took a risk and went experimental with her singing, which was amazing! That is a true artist, bringing something new to the table, and sharing it with the world!Although she didn't make it to the finals, I would I absolutely love to see her come back to the voice one day and kill it all the way up to the finals!!!

It's a shame she didn't go anywhere on the show but from the judges point of view I get it. She's incredibly talented, with a bit of a niche voice that might be able to stretch across genres, but she's actually too good for them and the show. They can't really take her anywhere with her voice or training because it's clear that she has already put that work in from the beginning. So it comes down to marketing and unfortunately a talent like that is actually quite hard to market in this day and age. It doesn't appeal in the long term to most of our generation who only really value something for its shock/meme value.

@@sid34193 I think Will thought that Claudillea will have a better future even she didn't win while the other boy only had "The Voice" as his choice. You can sense during the knockout, she was so calm while the chosen one was very nervous.
If you win any of these competitions you are trapped in a contract, it might be for the best she didn’t win but she got her name known.
