4 Years in Solitary Confinement with political prisoner Leopoldo Lopez | A Bit of Optimism Podcast

If great leaders are those willing to suffer for their beliefs, Leopoldo Lopez is certainly a great leader.
After he led the massive 2014 Venezuelan protests that swept the nation, the regime of Nicolás Maduro sentenced Leopoldo to over a decade of political imprisonment. He suffered four years of solitary confinement and psychological torture before he escaped.
Leopoldo tells me about his time in prison and how he cultivated the mental strength to endure. The story of how he smuggled himself into exile is a truly remarkable one. Most of us will never experience military prison, but what Leopoldo discovered about surviving enormous stress is something each of us can learn from.
This…is A Bit of Optimism

  • So many lessons that we can apply as individuals. For many of us, our captors are the un-wrangled thoughts in our heads. Thanks Leopoldo for encouraging us to discover a program from which we can count our wins and face life with dignity.

  • What you do not know, Leopoldo, is that many Venezuelans around the world pray for you resiliently, and we saw the hand of God when the unthinkable happened, and you were finally free.

    • Durante el gobierno interino de Juan guaido, del cual su partido, Leopoldo es el líder principal No sé nombró contralor, ni ministro de defensa, y se denunciaron Miles de irregularidades durante su gestión Si de algo de sirve esto SImon Sinek. Es que puedas bajar a leopardo en el pedestal que notoriamente lo tienes.

      @danielfrcek2756@danielfrcek27562 ай бұрын
    • Se hizo todo lo que se pudo lo mejor que se pudo. Si hubo contralor y se llama Ignacio Hernández, fue perseguido por el gobierno y vive en el exilio. No tenía sentido nombrar ministro de defensa. Te pregunto: ¿Para que hubiera servido? Todo el partido de Leopoldo pagó precios personales altísimos, incluyendo a Guaidó. Los que les dicen ladrones jamás hubiesen aceptado sacrificarse así.

    • @@carlosdaboin2915 entonces que sentido tuvo hacer el movimiento del 30A ? Porque no hablan de lo que pasó? Por qué no hablaron de monomeros? Por qué esconden tanta información? Que se hizo con los recursos de las recaudaciones? Porque las ong que recibieron recursos son en parte las esposas de los dirigentes de oposición? Demasiada información tapada como para no cuestionar su ética y moral frente a la población que los respaldo durante mucho tiempo.
