Once you are done with all those upgrades sell me the CR-V lol
Does it still have the original iVtec in it
No, this generation has a b20 non vtec engine.
I enjoy it, drives like a normal cr-v still. I don't take it off road hardly but great as a daily.
👍
@@GarageBuiltHondas have you added any of the stuff you stated at the beginning of the video? Haven't seen any update videos, for a daily and off-road crv what all would you recommend, thanks!
Love it! Keeping the older spirit of Honda burning 💪
Trying to!
Sounds like spirit and oil mean the same thing, lmao.
Very nice! Really been wanting the older crv as of late and even more motivated now that you've been making some more content with yours. The new garage is awesome too fits in well. I've Learned a ton through your videos with your help made it possible to do my first auto-manual swap and dpfi- mpfi swap as well in my crx. Always looking forward to your next video!
Love to hear it!! I enjoy my CRV more than I thought I ever would. It's been so practical as a daily driver, I love it.
Been wanting to do an off-road CRV of that body style for a while.
Working outside is the best choice providing the weather is good
Cool video man I'm a CRV lover myself I've got a 2003 crv with the k24a1 and it's also a manual, nothing crazy done just a lot of personalization, wheels, tires, bumper bar, light, cool vehicles and definetly a unique one to build up. Big Respect!
great video Jon. love the look of the crv now..total transformation.. Hope you and your family stay safe during these difficult times.
Likewise Adam!! Thanks for that!
Great vid Jon. Always love the demos and camera angles at the end so we get a good view of what it looks like driving .
I feel like it needs to be added and I'm glad you pointed it out and noticed. What good would it be to have a somewhat off-road setup and not take it off-road? 😃
@@GarageBuiltHondas btw. It's me. The guy with the blue EF sedan and green EF hatch on IG. Lol
Really cool easy mods that will make the CRV more of a beast than it already is. I love that front bumper bar so nice.
Soooo sick! Looks perfect Jon! The wheels look perfect with the ATs. Can't wait to get down there with the wagon.
Man..so freaken happy that I came across this cool video..Thankyou a bunch
Great work Jon as always dude keep them videos rolling n keep up great work
bro I dont comment on alot of videos or even like lifted vehicles that much.....but I respect your work ! I like your camera work and explanation while working. Stay true to you! I'm a fan. keep it up.
Always trying to keep it entertaining and informative. Thanks for the comment, these mean a lot to me!
I don't care what people think. Those A/T's looks awesome on those Motegi's. Love the color too. With the sacrifice bar, It really adds to the look of your CRV. Good choice.
Thanks Markus, I absolutely love the look!
Great videos man! I’m a huge Ef guy (ex sedan) and just got a crv 5 speed . Love how detailed you are ! Keep it up 👍
Thanks Julio, I'm kind of a nerd. Lol
A great video on good lift kits modifications and after market tires ( P215,75R15-100S -Firestone Destination AV, control arms, new power steering pump . Like the wheels. Safari light bar is a nice touch ! Ball joints are a good investment.
👍🙏
I love how clean your garage is!
Thanks man!
You inspire me. I love seeing it in action man
Thanks man, I had to try it out a little bit!
Can't wait to see when you work on the suspension on the CRV.
Soon enough! I need to!
Love crv’s definitely getting one as my first car and customizing it myself
With no customizations its the ultimate cruiser. With a lowering kit, racing wheels, and HP mods it becomes a sleeper. With a lift and off-road wheels, (maybe some attachments to haul gear), it becomes a great off-roader. With attachments to haul gear and a roof tent it becomes a great camper. If the tranny dies (which is pretty much impossible), you still have a B20 engine that will make many honda cars, and the miata, sleepers. The CRV could not possibly be a better first time vehicle. It works in bad snow / rain too.
Sweet my wife doesn't want to get rid of hers cause it has a small table in the back for camping 🙄 so I'm going to have to do something like this eventually. Thank for the video.👍
Love builds like this. Keep it clean 🤙
I'm trying man!
I love your style in wheels Jon! They look really good on the CRV bro with the tire set up as well.👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks brotha!!
Not gonna lie,I like how it sits with them new wheels.
Loving the crv build need more!!
Thanks, working on getting some work done to it!
Looks good! Can’t wait to see you install the other parts
Soon!
My partner has a completely stock CRV just like yours but in gold, recently clocked over 300 thousand kms and it still goes strong you can't beat it
That's fantastic, I hope I get many more miles from my CRV. 👍
This is your first video I see and saw your description and see that you’re from the west side of town. I’m from the northeast side of town and I was on the west side of town last weekend and your ride looks better in person.
Thanks buddy!!
Good stuff. I really like how it turned out!
Thank you
I seen a guy that came in for a alignment after he raise his CRV. Didn't really use spacer. Just stacks of washer to just bring up the body of the crv, but leave the suspension at normal high. Even put washer at the motors mounts.
I love the classic Honda CR-V. You did a good work on her.
I'm trying, glad you dig it!
@@GarageBuiltHondas Well, thanks. Cheers from Chile. And stay safe of the Coronavirus.
@ thanks, you too!!
215/75r15 Firestone Destination A/T are such an underrated set up for CRV's. Running mine on a 2nd gen, no lift, stock wheels, no rubbing. Absolutely no traction issues on the trails at 18 psi and a little momentum.
Any effect on the speedo reading? Looking to change the tires. Just that bit bigger. Thanks.
@@ob1488 mine read about 3 to 4 mph slower. It doesn't bother me.
hey, i just got some 215/75/15 toyo a/t’s for my 1st gen crv. do you think it would fit the same as the firestone without lift?
@@connorl.8944 Not sure about the 1st gen, ive read people having to use wheel spacer or different offset wheels in some 1st gens. But plenty of room in the 2nd gen to run 225 or probably even a 235
Always solid content brotha. Rims are super clean. Nice contrast.
👍
Absolutely love the 1st gen crv. This one is super clean and now looks friggin bad ass! So jealous lol
Thanks Graham
I Love It man, you living the dream
Ngl, a lifted first gen CR-V is one of my bucket list cars. Awesome job on this one!
Thanks!
Great video! nice little Crv you got there man! keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Great video very helpful. Your cr-v looks the way I want mine to look not like a big wheel
Do it. You'll enjoy it!
Awesome upgrades, love the new look.
You and me both!! 👍
I love that you just dont focus on ef's, but also other honda chassis. Crv came put great btw. I like the 2019 crv wheels and want them on my 06 Crv. I wanna put some thick boy tires on those oem wheels on a lift kit.
I'm trying. Got some other content soon too, but my bread and butter is ef`s. I bet your setup your planning on will look awesome.
I have an 04 and I'm thinking about some newer CR-V wheels or Civic Si wheels next time it needs tires. Some 17" with 225/55/17 would be nice. Those pie cutter 205/70/15 are the week link in the handling.
Love it bro! cant wait to start working on mine
Let's go!!
Going in the same route, I have everything just need time to put everything together. CRV gang💪
Is that what you were wanting me to work on??
No, I want to do the timing belt and water pump. I am disable veteran and there some stuff that I can’t due to my injured. But I do have all the suspension parts, wheels tires, and some other stuff for the off-road. I don’t see a lot of people building CRV on El Paso that why I ask you before.
You'd like me to do the timing component kit like I did in my video?
Yes, and more if is possible lol like I said, I am building a off-road CRV too and would love to have someone with the same goals helping me out.
Let me see what I can do. Do you have all the parts?
CRV, finished in this episode, looks awesome.
Thanks Pete
I'd love to see se new videos of this with your suspension upgrades/repairs. Also a list of part numbers for all of those bushings would be awesome. Jon, any recommendations for simple junkyard upgrades to the CR-V B20? I'm thinking other intake manifolds, bigger throttle body from an Integra, etc., just this type of thing. My CR-V is my camping buggy and DD.
I'm hoping to be able to work on those videos soon. I'll have part links when those videos are out in the descriptions. I wouldn't touch the stock engine personally. The Integra parts I doubt would make any noticeable difference. A cold air intake along with a header would probably be your best bet to make a little extra power as these crvs could use any they can get.
Ha! You weren’t joking about having the video up in 10min. It’s looking good! Keep it up.
Lol
Man, that's one beautiful 👌V💯 Wish I had your knowledge & expertise.... would love to work on mine like you do ....
Thank you. Just get outside, turn some wrenches. You'll learn very quickly.
the wheel setup looks so sick!!! I want to do something similar to my crv!
Do it! I'm already bored of these wheels, might be time for something new.
I added 18" rims to my 2000 CRV. I like the lift, but i wish I'd went with those lift spacers...Nice Work. They have a bumper spray to restore that bumper...
Throw some on still, itll lift it even higher.
No doubt. With a little more homework, it looks as if I could actually do it myself. Thanks for the quick idea. I know it's gonna make a helluva difference
it looks amazing Jon turned out great!
Thanks Ronnie!
Those rims are sick well done 👍👍
Thanks
Yes crv stuff just got mine back lend it to a friend
Lucky friend!
i need one of these for snowboard trips asappp
Do it!!
yes it does look fantastic
good to hear that the mpg hasn't been affected much ...the 215/75/r15 is 5.2% larger than the stock diameter, and so it also affect the speedo and mileage count on the dash... so if you plan to manually calculate the actual mpg, don't forget to put that into the equation ...but if you're using GPS to calculate, then it's accurate enough ....very nice looking simple build, tho ....planning to get myself a 225/60/r17 and 2 inches lift for mine so now I know how it would like on around 5% diameter difference ....currently running 215/55/r17 on H&R lowering kit spring
Definitely. I use tiresize.com and they have a calculator there to adjust for the mileage discrepancy.
Honda CRV first gen !🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I got two and I enjoy working on them
Awesome!
Look awesome bro... So you know u don't have to worry about that back tire rubbing, it'll never happen because of the geometry of the suspension!!!
Thanks man, I love this damn thing!
I'm about to buy one, it will be my first owned car, bought with my own money...looks like it's gone be fun!
Excellent choice, hope yours treats you well.
I lifted mine 3" with 32" cooper discovery off roads 7.5 wide 15 rims with negitive 27mm offset. I get people stopping traffic to tell me how much they love it . I also put a spit fire shark face on the side of it lol
Nice! They are solid vehicles!
@@GarageBuiltHondas ya sat over the winter now i have a rough idle and acceleration so hoping to have her sorted out for hunting season. Also i call her the cerv- x lol hahaha
😁
Not from El paso but was stationed at Ft. Bliss now I live in El paso, TX👍 pretty affordable living
It really is, tough to beat the home prices and cost of living here. Plus it's super chill.
El Paso is an awesome city.
I think I would be more concerned more about the wheel bearings than the gas mileage. Great vid! Maybe post an update after a few months of driving?
I am too, hence the bearing replacement soon. I've seen many others with a far less offset within issues. Time will tell.
Nice work man!
Thanks! 👍🙏
From paved course to dirt.. this can only mean one thing: RALLY CRX!!
Man, I want to someday!
Looks good I lifted my 2nd gen last month I went with the same tire size stock rims on ko2s
Thanks dude!
Love the video. Wow those wheels look nice. If my 99 was t so rusted out i may invest in those also (have stocks on but are powdercoated red). Will try those tires tho bc Dunlop Radial Rovers I had they dont seem to make anymore. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks a lot! Might as well just keep driving it until the red wheels fall off. 😁
Garage Built Hondas hey, 471000km so im trying for half a mill! are there many rear quarters where you are that arent rusted out?
@@mistermikeyjay so many!!! There was like 5 V's at the yard when I went a month ago for a roof rack.
It is looking nice with those Bronze Rims , I have same pattern for my civic, They never get out of style👍
Right on!!
Sweet! 🤙
Yes I love the first generation crv, bought 2 last couple years but those 2 r older 97, first 1 crank but no start couldn't figure whats wrong, replaced distributor, coils still didn't start sold it for 400, 2nd 1 bought for 1500, drove it 2, 3 months transmission slipping then sold it, and now got another sporty red 1 with spoiler 145 k miles
Nice, keep on upgrading!
Awesome! It reminds me of the lifted CRV that I had. Just a few notes, axles might be an issue when you are flexing the suspension, recommend usage are KSeries axle since they are bit longer and help with that issue. Another thing too is using nitrogen instead of air lower weight and help with MPG.
Very nice, thanks for that input. I've read the 1" lift doesn't cause any issues. It's been 2 months and no issues so far.
@@GarageBuiltHondas still no issues?
NAPA axles also.slightly longer i heard.
Been looking for the perfect AWD suv with great gas mileage, FOUND IT!
👍
My friend reached over 300k on his. The motor still ran but they retired the body due to rust.
I like the wheels and love a lifted CRV.
👍
Nice one right there. Ideal modification for Off-Road functions. Great job, buddy! In your view, what would be the best roof-top "Cargo & Luggage Rack" for HONDA CRV RD1?
I have no idea. You may want to take measurements and see what's useful for you.
That's a clean CRV.
Thanks
looking great! The tires alone just make you want to take it off road
It's more fun than I thought it would be!
Yoo! This video was what inspired me to pull the trigger on an rd1 recently! Mines came already lifted on 235/75 mud tires that are way to big so I ordered some fake o te37 reps I might plasti dip white and downsize to a 215, but yeah it's all happening and Im stoked! Also how can a player get some gbh stickers? Also I dont know if you know but there's an old British punk band from the early 80s called G.B.H, they're pretty tough, maybe you'd be into em, either way shouts from Arizona! Cheers bruh
Nice man! I'm going to make some more decals soon!
Great job.
bro those motegi are fire
borowski! I love em!!
should have TE37 instead.
@@mrj0hnster like I stated in the video, I'm not buying wheels that are the price of my crv. Even used you're lucky to find a set for 1500. Plus, this is a first. I've seen a bunch of crvs with TE37's or Rota Grids (TE rep) which is what I wanted to avoid.
My daughter just got an 03 CRV as her first car. I’m so stoked it’s AWD. I think I’m more excited than her!
Lol, nice
good looking CR-V, looks like a nice low budget project.
Thanks! It definite is!
Looks awesome love the Content.
Thank you!
Looks dope as hell jon!
Thanks Will!
I would love to do a head to head challenge off road in my 2000 GMC jimmy sle for fun...I love putting nice parts on my jimmy and it's nice to see someone else that is into there 4 wheel drive vehicle to
I'm down! You might beat me ugly but itd be fun as hell!
I got the same brush-guard on mine! I got it used though, so it’s not quite as shiny. But really cool video, Jon!
Spray paint will fix it! 👍 Thanks!!
Looks good! I never see CRVs with wheels and tires.
Thanks, trying to keep up with your beasts!
Salute looks more intimidating than the Coronavirus itself!!! Nice.....
Lol
Honda is a Great Machine !
Yup! 👍
Those wheels are actually pretty cool
Thanks dude!
Love the look
Thanks Joe
Thanks for info bro
👍
Nice man!
Thank you!
any kind of rub on the front wheels when turning sharp? i just got an 01 in great condition (like it's been in a garage for 20 years) and really want to try lifting it
None
That wheel and tire combo would look amazing on my green crv
Wanna buy em? Lol
@@GarageBuiltHondas What's your asking price?
$800 shipped for all 5.
@@GarageBuiltHondas I wouldn't need it shipped, and I also wouldn't need the tires.
$500
that's an interesting build, I like just because it's different 😉
Thanks!
Dude, those are rad!
Thanks!
Looks awesome.
Thanks dude!!
Cool video thanks dude... great video... Go CRV anyone go... Go Honda go...
Thanks 👍
The CR-V looks Great! How much $$ you spend on rims ,tires and parts too lift it the way it looks now? Thank you keep up with the good videos 👍🏻
About $850 for the wheels/tires (all 5). Another $200 for the lift spacers
@@GarageBuiltHondas thank you
it looks really koo ...well done
Thanks for checking it out!
Are you going to re-black the trim once you are done? It's a beautiful CR-V. Keep up the good work.
Yes, I want to detail it better and try to keep it looking nicer too
5-6 extra pounds per wheel may not sound like a lot at first, but to anyone considering this modification, keep in mind that they are unsprung weight (weight not supported by the suspension) and rotating mass (rotors, tires, wheels). Depending on the extremely and applications for your choice (offroading, driving in regions with curvy roads, highway acceleration) adding bigger and thus heavier tires and wheels can have a significant effect on your driving performance and handling.
Very true, and insightful. Thanks for taking the time to help out with this info. 👍
When you’re talking about adding the spacers in the rear for the trailing arm angle what spacers are you referring to?
Look up Aerogenics
