2023 Nissan Qashqai ePower Review | Hybrid Family SUV
Here's my review of the hybrid-powered 2023 Nissan Qashqai ePower 190 (also known as the Nissan Rogue in some markets). Is it all you could want from a family SUV or is it overpriced and over-rated? let's find out.

  • great timing...we have a Qashqai and it's great and I am test driving the new one (petrol auto) on Friday..I drove a low-spec manual when they first came out and thought it was not as well specced as our one..no sunroof/satnav etc..I really fancy the Cupra Formentor though as it's a bit more exciting/different!

  • Very nice review... You are doing me a favor that my choice of owning the 1.3 158hp was right. I didn't wait for the E-power version because of the price difference... I got my N-Connecta for over a year now and i can do easily 33 to 37 mpg in the highways(where most of my driving trips are). It's very practical family car and even in the 158 hp you don't feel any weakness due to the weight difference. I do recommend it.

    • I cannot see any good reason to go for the e-power personally, you made the right move in my opinion.

  • Another good review. Out of interest do you ever test the headlights? I notice some main beams are pretty weak on dark roads.

  • My Dad has one, he loves it. Although the generator failed and he was without it for a couple of months, faulty batch of generators apparently. I think that might be my concern with these, long term reliability. Nissan have a great reputation with electric cars, not so much with ICE and hybrids though.

    • Good question; it's certainly very competitive but many of those competitors are a bit bigger but each has it's strengths and weaknesses - I've reviewed the others aside from the Tucson so maybe have a dig around and watch those videos 👍

  • Those back doors have a great opening, however which car park can you open a back door so wide these days? I can see a few cars in the car park getting a few dinks in them when ya kids swing these doors open to get out. 😳 😢😢 Overall not a bad family car.

  • The wobbly fuel filler cap is a quality slip up on the part of Nissan Jim. It's a regular contact point, like the door handles and steering wheel, and will be noticed. I'm not entirely sure what the point of this car is, as it's fuel economy isn't anything special. I can't help thinking this car would have been more useful as a plug-in hybrid. Although I believe a full EV version is on the way...

  • Panel gaps surely aren't great on these...mine has the same issue with the non fitting fuel cap. Other panel gaps aren't great either... definitely much worse than a VW. Otherwise I love the Qashqai. Especially the interior, which is a very calming place to be. Overall a car that doesn't get on my nerves in daily use.. something many cars don't achieve.

  • The trip computer has me averaging 49 mpg on my n-connecta epower with about 4k on the clock. Wheels are 18s on mine and no pan roof. Great car and smooth driving. Interior build could be better. Too many rattles

  • I've got a brand new Quashquai but I will not buy another. Everytime you start the car you have to accept or decline a disclaimer which is incredibly annoying and dangerous as half the time you are already driving. I have spoken with the dealer and this can't be removed.
