Vadim & Angelika have never seen any of these photos, so they have no idea which photo was taken by which smartphone, so that makes this the MOST UNBIASED camera comparison possible!
I took shots with every single lens from the selfie camera, to the main wide shooter, the ultrawide lens and some zoom shots as well.
I also tested Portrait shots, Night Mode shots and even Night Mode portrait shots to see which smartphone camera is the BEST in 2020.

The game would be different if Google bothered to change their sensors after 4 years. Other newer phones with 12MP sensors are catching up even with minimal processing.
For a basic camera system with zero real zoom and half the price of the others..that was amazing
Problem is the Pixel isn’t a top priority for Google like the iPhone and Galaxy lineup is for Apple & Samsung. Pretty impressive computational rendering though on the Pixel.
I read some rumor about Pixel 5 "Pro" that should be released in Q1 2021, not sure how true is it, but if Google upgrades main sensor and adds the telephoto it will definitely be the best camera again
Yes and pretty impressed with how the Pixel performed against the top iPhone and Samsung. Pixel's bokeh is often the nicest, and portraits are very sharp, low light is also impressive for a 3 year old sensor!
The old sensor is starting to show it's age when the iPhone's 12MP sensor can retain more details with less noise, and with lesser processing (excluding the front camera - that's still garbage for some reason). That contrasty, sharpened look on the Pixel can easily be duplicated by applying something called a high pass filter in photoshop. But it's still a highly processed look. No doubt it looks good, but the point is being, that the older sensor is gonna be inferior when it comes to producing better "raw images" before processing. If Google applied it's algorithm on a better quality raw image, who knows how much better images would look.

What's most laughable is how every iPhone nails skin tones according to almost every reviewer. There are 7 billion people on this rock. That's a lot of skin tones yet every iPhone since I've been watching these comparisons always gets skin tones just right while other phones struggle with it. What's never mentioned is that other phones have adjustments, cool to warm. In the many years that I've been watching these reviews I still don't know if any iPhone have such an adjustment. But then why would the iPhone need such an adjustment if it always gets it right?
Doesn’t it adjust it by itself. If you tap on your skin when taking a picture. It also adjusts it
@@ruedadi2682 idk I sure would like to know how it works. On other phones you can manually adjust it in settings.
@@ruedadi2682 can you manually fine tune it?
Lol i thought the same
There are plenty reviews in which they say the iPhone didn't get the skin tone right in some particular shot. It really depends on the light conditions, most of the time. It didn't get it right in all shots in this review either. But this is true for any other phone as well. The iPhone does okay in most cases, but certainly not all. All phones allow for some whitepoint / color adjustment after the shot is taken, so you can always tweak it. I'm not sure where you got the idea that the iPhone nails it according to almost every reviewer. If you watch a lot of different reviewers, you'll see different opinions. I often heard comments from different reviewers about it presenting the skin tone a bit too warm, or too orange or red in certain situations, like with a lot of backlight.
I absolutely enjoy watching these comparisons! Always nice to see what other phones are capable of.

Agreed with Vadim on about all of them! Good job on that, it's a lot of fun to watch a video with all of you guys!
Amazing that the Pixel 5 removed one of the processors internally that used to be dedicated to the camera and externally has only one lens, yet can hang in these tests.
I was very surprised the Pixel came out 2nd overall, even though I was rooting for it xD and also I noticed no astrophotography shots, would really have allowed the pixel to show off how good it captures the night sky, although it's near impossible to do in the city because of the light pollution.
I would love to see you give the video stabilization a thorough test when comparing the 12 pro and the max.
Subbed! Great unbiased video! Nice to see 2 brothers and their sister in one video, family reunion!
Great format. Would like it even more though if the "results" screen stayed on just couple more seconds to let the "known" comparison sink in just a bit more and make it easier to pause too :). Maybe it's just me though.
iPhone: 17 Note: 7 Pixel: 7
Do you think the different accent color rings around the lenses have different influences when shooting into the sun? i.e. does the gold phone show more glare in the shot than a darker model like graphite when facing the sun?
Love these videos. Great format. Thanks.
Max Tech never disappoints 💪🏻💪🏻
Exactly! This is much better than the Android biased video from Tech Tablets. I say this as someone who appreciates and would want the more open OS of Android in an iPhone, but I readily admit Apple is still the best phone maker out there which is why I own one. Tech Tablets' comment section is just an circular argument of Android diehards desperately trying to convince themselves that Apple cannot possibly be better.

Hi, which version of Note 20 Ultra you've tested? with Snaprdagon processor/US version or Exynos processor EU/UK/Asia?
Note 20 Ultra has 5x zoom not 4x, so the 4x zoom picture is cropped.
Your right! I guess it still defaults to the main 108MP sensor though because it’s so much better in lowlight.
@@MaxTechOfficial default is set to 12 mp not 108mp... So if you zoom beneath 5x it's cropping into 12mp shot

Yeah, the iPhone won often by a small margin over the Pixel. The Note is notable worse than the others.
Yeah, I’m an iPhone user too, but the Pixel has really surprised me
The differences between pixel and iphone were mostly small for a phone less than half the prize. Really surprising.

Max Tech never fails to give an excellent canera review!!!
Hello, I have a somewhat specific request and I need advice. I need a phone with an excellent camera (main) and above all with the fastest possible picture. That is, with minimal post-processing. I will be using a company application to take pictures, so I need the camera not to depend on the application itself for image quality. The price does not matter, but ideally it should be an android phone. This is not a technical limitation, but rather a personal preference. Thank you in advance for any suggestions or recommendations.

Love these Max Family videos
I feel like I say this a lot but Note 20 ultra has a 5x zoom camera. Not 2x, not 4x but 5x. That's what you get when you press the "zoom" button. Not one of these photos actually used the zoom lens. These zoom samples just aren't "real use" examples. You use the three buttons to get the zoom lengths in real life. All of these comparisons are using unnatural zoom lengths to match other phones... And almost all comparison videos are doing this. Like, use the tool properly or normally and stop focusing on photo matching other phones...
that makes it even worse the photos were bad on the main 108 megapixel lenses
And pixel even don't have telephoto or 108 mp sensor for good digital zoom, even than it is doing far better job, and in real life most people zoom at 2-5X so Samsung's crazy zoom is just a gimmick.
@@divypatel1002 no, that's not how lenses work. Or cameras. At all. There's no such thing as a perfect lens that can do everything excellently: every positive charactistic usually comes at the expense of something else (bokeh/DOF, Width/Barrel distortion, centre clarity/edge clarity etc). The phone's strategy is that each lens focuses on the fewest qualities to cover all bases. This applies to the different sensors too. Samsung's main lens & sensors aren't designed for digital magnification: there's a dedicated lens for that. AND a dedicated sensor for that. Neither are used here. You aren't expected to have an intimate understanding of the optimum performance charactistics of each lens and sensor: that's why there's auto mode with a "zoom" and "wide" button that does it all for you. People don't manually adjust things things when they don't understand what they're doing in real life. This isn't representative of the phone's optimal settings, or real world use experience. It's a contrived mis-use for the convenience of the video format. It makes little sense... TL;DR: My point was that reviewers are manually deviating away from the optimal settings in order to get a photo that matches a different device. To the extent that they are digitally cropping at 4x (using one quarter of the image) when there's a dedicated zoom button that's 5x. That's just inept photography.
@@cleden506 but that's my point: you press the zoom button and get 5x zoom lens. You press the 108mp button and get the 108megapixel sensor. They haven't used either here. They've manually cropped into the main lens/12 megapixel sensor. To the extent that they've used one quarter of an image in one instance. That's crazy. Nobody does that.
@@AnotherAnonymousMan I know that samsung had 5x optical zoom but when 12.2 mp pixel sensor can crop 4x without telephoto sensor and do exceptional work, than you'll hope that 108 sensor might do it better because it has more data to work with, it's just excellent computational photography on pixel's end which Samsung is not focusing on , samsung is more focused on just numbers and that's what I meant. I understand your point that default zoom of samsung at 5x would be far better than iphone or pixel's at 5x but pixel can perform very well in digital zoom with it's tiny 3-4 years old sensor is just amazing, other companies are getting close to pixel in computational photography but pixel is still best at digital zoom and night photography imo.
