**NEW FATHER'S DAY FILM- • Father's Day Short Fil...
To celebrate Mother's Day, Jaycie and I set out to create a short film based on a children's book that impacted my life in a very personal way. By the amazing comments we've seen, we aren't alone either. The book "Love You Forever" is the story of a Mother's love for her son as he progresses through life, and we sought to make a modern interpretation of the wonderful themes inside the book.
This short film comes from the bottom of my heart. It's inspired by a book from my childhood, Love You Forever written by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Sheila McGraw, and is dedicated to my mother Ali and Jaycie's mother Charissa.
Starring:
Keaton Haskell
Katie Jones
Carol Anderson
Camden Harwood
Rylan Harwood
Christopher Huber
Cooper Ursenbach
Addie Manapat
Jaycie Haskell
Adapted and created by me, Kim Haskell with the support of my loving wife, Jaycie.
Special thanks:
Katie Hassard and Love Light Solar for helping to bring light into this project
Kelly Haskell for baby wrangling and production assisting
My friends at St. Lukes for their support
Kennedy and Gage Manapat for lending their facilities and baby
Lexii Birch Ursenbach for donating a baby
Charissa Birch for lending us their home for yet another video ;)

  • Hi... I'm Sheila McGraw, the illustrator of Love You Forever. I was just surfing and came across your film, and it made me weep, just as the book still does -- timeless. You have captured the book's premise perfectly. Love it!

    • I can't even believe this reached you, we are just floored! Your endorsement is the best complement we could possibly receive. You've touched the lives of my family and the families of millions around the world, thank you so much. It's been a literal dream to somehow have you and Robert see it. Any idea how we could share it with him too?

    • Sheila~ Thank you so very much for your contribution to this darling little book! It is an ABSOLUTELY touching story and its words and illustrations give it that allure and enchanting quality. Your pictures ... in particular ... are what make it such a touching & heartwarming story, they just give it that special touch. And (in my opinion) without your participation in the creation of this book, it just wouldn't be as meaningful. I must have read your book to my 4 older children dozens and dozens of times when they were babies & until they were at an age where kids just lose interest in being read bedtime stories. You are an extraordinarily talented and adept artist & (in MY opinion) extremely unthanked & trivialized. I would LOVE to see some new children's literature containing some of your work!!!! There are so many of us who would still appreciate your beautiful pictures to go along with more of these meaningful stories, so please know that we are very aware of the dedication and perseverance that go into doing these enchanting little story books. Sincerely• one of your BIGGEST fans. ♥️ "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." -One of my most favorite parts of the book, besides the picture of the son holding his OWN baby & telling him that he'll love him forever.... you TRULY are an absolutely BRILLIANT artist!!🥰

I first heard it read by a nursing home administrator (not a dry eye in the room). The love always comes out and brings tears to my eyes. Thank you.

  • SWEET!! To all the Moms out there - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY - Loving them forever is a default that is installed once we give birth, & all we know how to do - (even through those darn teen years - Hang in there, it gets better ... Sometimes even more entertaining, sometimes more relaxing, but they are in a different world from us, so let them be themselves and find out what works best. Before (tooooo) long, they'll know what we know today "Mom did know before we did, but we had to find out like she did" - !?) Namaste from USA.

  • I’ll Love You Forever holds a very special place in my ❤. It’s the story I read to my children , and it was very special to my oldest son Zack. Each of them had their own copy. Zack died when he was 19, and we buried his book with him. I’ll love you forever is written on his tombstone. This short movie made me cry of course, but they were good tears. I think Zack wanted me to find it on KZhead. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms , and especially those moms who are missing their child today and always💕

But as an adult now, with 3 kids and a 4th on the way, I understand. The love I have for my kids is the same love my mother had for me. I love you mom, and miss you so much. I was closer to my adopted cousin than I was to my relatives and we had a large extended family. My aunt and uncle, who had no other children, learned much about the Collective Soul that we are a part of through the love they shared with my cousin, Maryjo. Orphans are special teachers of humanity and should be loved as teachers.

  • This has always been one of my most favorite books of all time. And when my daughter was born back in 2013, my little sister had gotten this book for me to read to her growing up. Unfortunately, we no longer have it due to me losing my storage unit. But I still remember this book word from word & will still tell it to my daughter, (who is now 10 btw). This story has always made me cry. They are always a mixture of happy tears, sad tears, & tears of joy & feeling blessed beyond the universe. But watching this short film about this book has given the book itself a whole new meaning to me now. It has reminded me to always make sure that my daughter knows just how much I lobe her & how much she means to me. We need to cherish the time we have together bc you never know just how much time that will be. I recently lost my momma back on July 25, 2023 due to kidney failure. It was very unexpected & happened so very fast. None of us knew how to accept any of it. We still haven't fully accepted that she isn't here anymore though. But the ending of this short film has got me all up in my feelings right now & appreciate life a little more again. Thank you to all those involved in the making of the short film as well as the author & illustrator of the book itself. And if you still have your mother here on earth with you, please call & remind her just how much she means to you & how much you love her. And if you have kids, please d the same asap. We aren't on this earth forever & you also don't know how much the other person just might need to hear those words coming from the one that they love the most.

  • Mothers day isn't always a great day for everyone. To those who struggle on this day you're seen. This is my first mothers day not wishing mine a happy mothers day. Not through her passing but my choice. It's still difficult but it's for the best. Sometimes we can wish a happy mothers day to those who have been like actual mothers to us. Doesn't make it any less difficult though. Stay strong ❤ day you are seen.

  • A friend of mine gave me the book to this video in the 80's. My 2 sons' were very young then. I was going through a divorce. I have severe Lupus. Through all these years, I have been on death's door more than 20 x. God has intervened to let me raise my boys!! Godly parents -mine-helped so very much!! Yes, a mother's love goes though everything with their children--even as adults!! I love this video and the book!! Makes me cry every time!! My sons are grown now and I will love them forever!!!!

Thank you so much, both of you, for the sharing of your talents for the world to be touched. Beautiful, simply beautiful. ❤

  • A warm handshake and hugs from my humble country the Philippines 🇵🇭. Our culture only celebrated Mother's Day during the 1990s and Father's Day a couple of years after that. Now it's a Sunday and we are celebrating the day of our mothers. In our country, the moms are the light of every household. Thank you for your kind words about mothers.
