Off the top of my head, they've only had him fight other kickboxers right? Is there anyone at his prime weight classes who has enough striking to reliably get to the grappling to fraud check him? I'm not familiar enough with the roster these days to know.

Wrestling is more important for MMA, Pereira is just that good at striking. If he fought Aspinall however, I think he’d get grappled and beaten. I don’t see him piecing up Tom like he does Hill or Strickland for instance.

@Buckaroo_Banzai47 unfortunately alex will never be able to defend the belt as many times as Jones because of his age. If alex was younger by 10 years he would be greater than Jones. But the fact is he only has 2 or 3 years remaining to fight at the top which is why he can't defend as much as he's speed running.
@vikashmayrhoo5639 for sure, but you learn a lot in those years too, so it'd be hard to say if he would even be as good if he started in the ufc earlier. We'll have to see how he performs his next fight to really gauge if he'd even be capable of fighting at heavyweight and even getting 1 title defense because I don't think it'd be worth it if he can't defend it.

However I think he is capable of being the most accomplished fighter ever. That's taking into consideration his kickboxing titles and defenses. What makes Alex great as well is the man has no ground game and he makes it work. Also as much as I love Jones no other fighter in mma is capable of being triple champ and actually being a legit treat at all divisions. Ppl said he won't make at 205 and not he's shutting lights out from a side. Alex is a different breed of human not mad like Jones but his physicality is something else.
