YOU WANT TO BE THE GOAT? YOU HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY
ESPN's Michael Wilbon ripped into LeBron James and Anthony Davis on Friday over the way they handled the end of the Los Angeles Lakers’ season.
The Lakers were eliminated from the postseason on Monday with a Game 5 loss to the Denver Nuggets in the first round. Four days later, the Lakers announced the firing of head coach Darvin Ham - an outcome that had been expected.
Wilbon expressed his frustrations over the Lakers' decision and called on LeBron to "take accountability" like one of the greatest basketball players in history should.

    • Or Duncan, Bird, Magic, KAJ, Shaq, Dr J, Hakeem, Russell, not even Wilt. LeBron is a nomadic gunslinger who has no loyalty to any one franchise. His cult of fans follow him wherever he goes, and they leave when he leaves. He needs an already established star to win chips. He always has help and claims that he "never has help". He's team cancer.

When a player makes excuses they disrespect the team that beat them. All Bird would say is they were better tonight but we will be ready next game. Same with Jordan. LeCuse isn't a top 5. Today's players are more Muscular but they don't have the Cardio Vascular Systems the 80's had. They went down the Court faster and played more minutes. Bird would excel in today's game. He scored 49 in his last game with a Triple Double. Obviously you didn't watch him play. He isn't called the Legend for nothing.

  • Let’s talk about Bron sauntering up court while his teammates and opponents (with the ball) are running, too often not even crossing half court before they have already scored. To make matters worse his body language afterwards implies someone else is at fault. What a blemish on the sport he is.

Took them sorry ass lakers including Anthony Davis to the finals and this year to the playoffs. AD actually came out against Darvin but yo all King 👑 haters will always hate … The 👑 played with the card he was dealt with . He carried the lakers all year long and when he went to the bench they couldn’t keep the lead and in the last game AD quit .. Ham is great at giving motivational speeches but short on basketball IQ .. digest that !

He doesnt make none of his teamates better. Hes uncoachable and cant maximize the full potential of his team because he too damn selfish. Everything is me,me,me. Even when another player steps up and plays well and they win. He wants to take all the credit. That affects the morale of the team. He's mentally weak and he struggle closing close games out. Thats why they loss. Lebron dont need more help. AD was the best player on the team. He need more help. Get this effeminate childish premadona out the league ASAP. He dont need to go to another franchise just to sabotage it.

  • I really don't understand why he was never called out on the broken hand excuse. He came out to the post game interview with a cast. Can we just think about this for a minute. If he actually had a broken hand and played ball with it for a week then you would think that he would need to go to a hand specialist. Since the bone probably was already starting to heal they would have needed to re-brake it and make sure the bone was set correctly. And then after that need to wait a few days for any swelling to go down before an actual cast could be put on. Basically whether or not he actually had a broken bone in his hand that post game interview cast was just for show and served no medical purpose.

Maybe some NBA legends are also starting to make bold statements about MJ vs LBJ as the goat is to make themselves relevant these day and age. MJ is still the most recognizable athlete today and i think that’s the thing that separates him from the rest.

Whether lebron is in la or not dude they needed to go with a different coach. Darvin ham has to go to a young team looking to prove something. But yeah let's play lebron when ad was visibly annoyed by ham play calling. The lakers say they will listen to ad in search for a new coach what that tells me that ad is the guy. Lastly how many coaches you have doesn't change a goat.

I hope this type of behaviour gets called out more & more going forward, so we can reclaim some of the sporting component of this basketball league. Professional sports are in the entertainment business, but it’s been way out of balance when it comes to a competitive baseline of competition. Let’s all hope it starts moving back to a better balance between being a sport with incredible athletes rather than an entertainment industry with celebrity athletes.
