    • Pretty much. We have a long, LONG history of withstanding Russian oppression: from the Russian Empire, from the Soviet Union... Ukrainian flowers always come back to bloom, no matter how hard the oppressors try to stomp them out. And, look: historically, no nation is a saint. Everyone fought someone throughout the centuries. However, being part of modern civilization means to let it go and to work together for a better future, as equals. Like, when part of Ukraine was under the Polish rule, we fought against them, too; and look at us now. Russia is one of the few countries that refuses to change with the times, and keeps doing the same shit over and over again.

From the Kremlin down to the lowly private from some backwater hovel in the central Asian portion of the Russian federation, they're pillagers, marauders, rapists and baby killers. It is painful and frustrating to read the history of the Ukrainian people being repeatedly assaulted by russia. And so you have said NO MORE! • @@likebot. Zelenski is like a real life Clint Eastwood. Closest we had to that in the USA was maybe Teddy Roosevelt... and before that, Lincoln.... and before that, Washington. The list is thin. He's what all the narcissistic politicians want to be: brave, in control, smart, strategic, WINNING, comforting to his people, reliable, underrated to begin with and globally renowned later.... And those other politicians can never be all that, because their want of it blinds them from being able to accomplish it. They put themselves at the center, they think how everything reflects on them, and their people who look to them are seen as pawns rather than the stars of the show. Zelenski isn't a power-grabber. He got into this role because he saw an obvious need, one that he could fulfill. And now he's not it this for himself, he's doing it for his people. That's why he's successful. That's why he's on the List.

    • I'm glad we got to hear the UA perspective from this dignitary of Ukraine. EVERY SINGLE TIME that we westerners (who have never shared a border with RU) bring up the notion "but they say they'll use nukes!"... I'm stunned at our sniveling cowardice. Put it this way, when a kid at school says he'll bring his daddy's gun to campus and will shoot you if you don't give him your shoes, backpack and pants, this is what you tell him. "You bring your gun, bring all of your guns... you fucking bully. Because, the rest of us, we'll bring our daddy's guns too, and there's 20 of us and just 1 of you." Putin wants to rob the world and build his ethno-fascist dreamland where he is remembered as a conqueror. Nukes are great scare tactics, but they literally destroy that which he wants most: a secure future for his empire. Nukes END the life for the first attacker, because everyone else will counter nuke them into submission. That's the peace that we've negotiated with each other on the world stage. Only we civilians haven't learned this realpolitik yet -it's time we catch up to the propaganda and see it for what it really is: lies, bullying and the barking of the starving rat desperate to keep ahold of whatever food is in front of it.

I bet, if Kuleba was somewhere near the big rocket explosion several times (like me), he would fear af. But Russia for some reason doesn't attack Parliament, President's Office, ministries and other buildings with the 'right' people. Even when Zelensky was in Izyum about week ago and everybody knew he was there, Russia didn't attack. Their positions were less then 100 km from there. They know they're in safety.
