Michael Corby and John Waite were the absolute best. Loved the Babys!
Ya must include TONY BROCK ..
This sound cannot be duplicated it cannot be played or sung any better. This is the studio recording and along with The Golden Mile are the two mystical tracks on the album. Another song that is impossible to reproduce is I'm Falling. Corby's genius is that you never get tired of this music, you marvel at his construction of such a musical masterpiece. All four musicians held these recording gems in the palms of their hands when this album was recorded in late 1977. It's almost as if music peaked at this point in time.
Sung any better? Look up the word "vibrato" in a dictionary then come back and make an INFORMED comment.
This is a magnificent song from an underappreciated great band.
In my eyes they weren't underrated.. I adore this band.. Also Bad English Australia
@@avengernemesis7990 Underappreciated meaning they deserve more airplay. But we both agree John Waite is awesome.
I honestly can NOT think of a more under rated Singer than John Waite or this/band, his music is so alive still… 2022 & counting!
Never did like soft rock that much, but this album is...EXCEPTIONAL...a FANTASTIC piece of work...thanks guy's for so many great memories....🏈❤😎!
2022, and these BABYS are even MORE EPIC now!!!!! Sooo super talented and a stylin vibe that’s absolutely sumptuous … yep, MAJESTIC
I wished that the group all stayed this beautiful forever.
This was my favorite lineup with Michael Corby in the band
Great song of a great band still listening to their music
Timeless beautiful outstanding song. ❤️it. Great singer. 👏🍀
John Waite looked good in make-up like no other man could
Yes, in that cool 7os androginous way...not the cheesy, spandex 80s look.
Marc Bolan?
Kinda reminds me of David Bowie.
Bull shite!!! He looks better now as a man!!
Prince
Beautiful track all the Babys songs are so beautiful and romantic
I was 15 when this was released. It was, and still remains, my favorite Babys song - 45 years later.
It’s fantastic. My favorite is -I’m Falling. Heartbreaking, but so fine.
Me too. I just turned 60. TilTuesday, Berlin, The Alarm, and the Babys.
My favorite too
The whole of this album is deep, thoughtful and well produced.
I wish they hadn't broken up! Mike Corby was the original Baby and the true talent! I blame Waite and the manager here. They really screwed people over, to put it mildly.
BROKEN HEART was a classic album and still play the album now.....brilliance is timeless!
Masterpiece. Love this song🎶
It truly is my favorite Babys song hands down...and they have a lot of great songs
of course Michael Corby was brilliant with writing the music.
IT is a masterpiece!!
I adore it! One of the hits of my youth, nostalgia you get me!
A fantastic track I loved it when it came out and i love still
I like a whole range of music (look at my lists), but this glam rock, I always come back to.
You have good ears
What a pop? It sounds like a life experience.
Awesome song! Thanks for posting!
❤❤prachtig
One of the best.
Definitely a classic and I absolutely love music and memories of my life with music such as this
This sounds like if people from the 80s got teleported into a dnd game. I love the wizard beat and the guitar riffs and drums in combination.
❤️ Love this song so much!
Great Band🎙😎
Love this song so much. Written by Chas Sandford and Michael Japp
THE BABYS FEATURING JOHN WAITE "A PIECE OF THE ACTION" *BROKEN HEART (c)1978
John is wearing blush here--tee hee! Still love ya, John! Fantastic singing here and ensemble playing.
Amazing songtrack from this wonderfull group the Babys, also this awesome vidéo ! I love this songtrack, very much ! Greetings from Belgium !
John Waite is so artistically astute as well as just emulating his genius....
I Love this song, and I would Love a piece of the action!
Oh! for a slice of the cake...
Same here mate.. X
WOW, still love it and its in every years top 2000 list from me.
❤️ love the song
The Babys were one of the best groups... listen to the words. They resonate today. As ANYTIME.. gets me woman for 40 yeats saying there words ..." A crack of thunder from my town... I read the future.. I got u going down. " If u can't a wonan telling her that....u Ain't man...
Yes my favorite song
Oh man the coke / women/ and this song brings me back to the 80s Northern California ❤️
what a organ riff
That was the best part about the Babys, mixing those keyboards in with tasty Rock riffs and meaningful lyrics. John Waite always delivered those vocals, and Michael Corby couldn't write a bad song if he tried.
Broken Heart Isn't it time And if you could see me fly
A Musical Masterpiece
I love this song.
Waite is bringing me back to my high school days, I really miss everything there used to be. Then I had fallen in love with this number and another one "I'm falling" in this album. In late 70's to early 80's of South Korea, the only great hit song in this album was "silver dreams", so most people didn't know this beautiful number.
one of the very best bands of all time
Masterpiece
Also a bit classical...great!!
@Montréal 🇨🇦...first album @ 14...PRiViLEGED memories ❤️

Just great
I bought that album. Head first!1978
No, this album is Broken Heart (1977). Give me Your Love and I´m Falling are other two of my favorite songs.
Majestic!
Great song by them.
Tales of a misspent youth 💙John Waite
Great
The baby's where great And with there frontman jon waite he had a great voice and sound
DAM. NOW. THAT. R O C K S !
Love it x 3
Sounds very James Bondy
I had the same thought. I think it's those strings. A few tweaks would make it a good Bond song.
like when you listening in 2047
i was listining in 1977.
❤️
His addiction of checking the volume knob !!!!!
Or maybe playing his own sound mixture independently? Sometimes you have to USE your instrument. Just my guess.
ohio-crosby,stills,nash & young.
1978
1977
Beautifull song but so funny the whole band playbacking in toppop
Is that john stamos on drums looks like him
I’ve always liked the Babys, I like this song a lot especially the guitar work at the very end, but as a bass player it’s killing me that John Waite keeps reaching down to turn down a bass that’s not even plugged into an amp. Maybe it’s just a habit of something he does while playing bass.
Yes, that is distracting yet interesting: maybe a nervous tick kind of behavior? He *was* the bassist, so it isn’t like he’s faking it.
Is that John stamos on drums
A. P. "Tony" Brock
Tony Brock
I thought they were a Styx like shitband, this is quite good....
Lip syncing was such BS (still is). Doing a close up on the guitar and it's not plugged in . . . mmk. And John pretending to adjust his volume. lol
For a cake of the action For a piece of the slice Just sounds wrong..doesn't it?
The lyrics are pathetic af
Yes. And I don't care.
Yes, and I love it.
It’s rock-n-roll. Let me know when you cut an album.
