am i the only one who loves to watch JJ even if i do not have a single damn clue of the rules?
hahaha that's funny
😊👍🏼 I'm with you, I really enjoy watching their fine techniques and moves, it is really interesting.
Why not join??
Welcome to the club hahaha
idek whats going on lol i watch boxing & mma but i don't know a whole lot about bjj
One of the greatest matches ever and could have gone either way. Two legends RIP Leandro ❤
Remember watching this fight 5 years ago, later in night and cheering out loud for Leandro to win but it wasnt his year . After that competition , critics said tha Lo should retire and his peak form is gone but after 2018 Leandro shout their mouths forever and proved everyone wrong. RIP LEGEND. Always your nr 1 fan!🥋
Man 2017 was half a decade ago time flies. Rip Lo 😢
I still cant believe Leandro is no longer with us, he must be the guy that i took most techniques from, and we have the same name, he will be remember forever, one of the most loved bjj figures ever. RIP champ.
Good thing ibjjf released it some time ago so we dont have to wait for you
RIP Leandro. Legend.
I love watching Meregali's matches - so exciting.
RIP the legend Leandro Lo
Verdade seja dita, o jiu-jitsu do Nic é finíssimo...

@@meucarronocapricho boa kkkkkkkk
Kkkkkkkkkk boa. Mas se a comissão permitiu tá valendo.
RIP Legend 🥋
Osss Lo será pra sempre lembrado no jiu-jitsu ❤❤

I tell you Jujitsu and judo is one of the hardest sport's to do i think unless you are willing to sacrifice and enjoy the sport's then it became challenge sport Rest in Peace Leandro Lo
Dois monstros, luta sensacional.
Many misunderstandings in this comment section... 1. BJJ isn't "real fight". It is a sport with its own rules. So saying about such and such tecniques "bUt IT woUlDnT WorK in The StrEet" is irrelevant. Any experienced JJB guy would still know pretty well how to defend itself in a "real fight". I put those " " because, what is a real fight anyway ? MMA wouldn't work in a real fight if I have a gun. A gun wouldn't work in a real fight if I have a bomb, you see ? 2. BJJ isn't wrestling or judo, emphasized is put on submissions and if pulling guard is easier for you to reach the submission, then why would you try a takedown ? For the aesthetic ? As an experienced JJB fighter, I find it very interesting both when a good guardian pulls guard and when a good wrestler pulls a good takedown. 3. BJJ is done with a gi. If you say that such or such techniques wouldn't work without a gi then congrats, you discovered something big.
First time watching this kind of match. Dont know what the moves or goals are. One thing I know: I was LMAO with the guy in white. He's like a deadly octopus grabbing hold of its prey.

Deadly... but not trained so cant see the obvious when Its over. Trained Mauy Thai and it's the real deal for real life, but all somebody as to do is get you on the ground then your training is done and the problem is most will end on the ground . So need to learn JJ for real life defense! Amazing!!!

I dont know if I understand the ibjjf rules right, but I always get the impression that Lo goes away from his opponent guard too much and then comes back. I never see the judges penalize him for that. Isnt that wrong?
why would it be penalized? he's staying active. and he's not escaping the fight area. (i know your comment is 4 years old, but if i read it today, someone else might too)
@@vibovitold because he's avoiding the engagement, he's just running and starting again and only engages when its favorable

Nicolas amarrou a luta até o final, pqp 😂😂😂😂
This is like a crossover between Judo and Westling.
Uhmmmmm not this match. Wrestling is way more action and judo is also more action. These dudes are way too relaxed. Wrestling is not relaxed neither is judo. They are pressed for time and they need to get shit done.
@@ape1022 Looool that's hilarious my man
@@ape1022 If you think these guys are relaxed, you don't have any jiu jitsu experience
@@ape1022 Ever watch grandmaster chess? At this level everything has to be calculated. You think they are relaxed; roll with them and they would destroy you in under 20 seconds.
@@Jalapablo one is certainly more likely to witness short outbursts of explosive action in standup-oriented grappling such as Judo and wrestling. it doesn't make BJJ "relaxed" though : ) in BJJ oftentimes you have to withstand constant gruelling pressure, which is not obvious for an average viewer. the notion that it's a "crossover between Judo and wrestling" makes some sense, and i've used it myself describing BJJ to people who don't have a clue about it, like family members etc. however, it's an inaccurate approximation. eg. the open guard game, demonstrated here by Meregali, doesn't really exist in Judo,, much less in wrestling.
I find more handsome master Roger Gracie fighting.

one of the sports i will never understand....
how come Lo gased out so early?
He is not gassed out, Lo always fights with his mouth open and breathing heavy.
They need to change rules somehow to get these guys scoring. I hate these 2-0 or advantage point wins. This was nothing but stalling to try and score last minute. No disrespect these guys earned their blackbelts. There has to be something to get these guys wanting score.
Ah nada ver as novas regras, LO ganhou !
Qual é a intenção? Diminuir a lenda brasileira?
O propósito é deixar a luta registrada.

i am very surprised that you didn't make us fans have to PAY to watch this. Last year you guys released on all of the road to worlds footage on youtube but this year you have them all on your website behind a paywall. Why? I understand you need to make money but don't make us fans miss out on the content you lot make otherwise it's pointless. THINK OF THE FANS
cuz flo are nothing but bunch of money grabbers who doesnt give a shit about the direction where this sport is heading
Great match, but not a huge fan of showboaters. Not very BJJ-like.
I love it. Straight out of the Musashi playbook
Is there seriously no penalty for pulling guard?
Why would there be?
@@laryngis431 Disincentivises takedowns which are a legitimate part of the art
@@clayvision guard is an essential part of the game, you can't give a penalty to someone for entering what is considered a neutral position. Agreed the ibjjf rules are in need of an overhaul though.
@@laryngis431 Maybe its the Judo guy talking in me, but im not a fan, i think pulling guard also makes BJJ a worse spectator sport which in my opinion is pretty relevant
@@laryngis431 It also puts the sport in a dogmatic position; sure bjj is not mainly about streetfight or self defense its more of an art form but come on, you wouldnt slam your own back onto the concrete in a real situation. There should be realness to some degree at least.
KKK !!! Isso é jiujitsu ou um assalto !!! KKK !!!
Ok we’re going out to dinner I’m going
He tapped at 2sec to go. Lo wins. :p
the rules are so fucked up... If you try to pass the guard you already are at clear disavantage : you can't sweep your opponent but he is in good position and can gain points by sweeping you. And that with no previous work for the guard defender since he just has to sit (which has no drawback in points) anyway I'm new to the sport but apart from that, I love it
and yet not everyone pulls guard. why? because it's not without its own downsides. your observation is correct to an extent, but there's a broader picture. for example: you'll be under more physical pressure fighting from the bottom (this sucks especially against big and strong guys - you'd rather be trying to pass their guard than vice versa). you are essentially in a position where you have to "get it right every time" - if you fail to defend the guard pass once, they'll get you in side control or other dominant position. and they can repeat their attempts over and over (they risk getting swept, but this goes both ways - every sweep attempt exposes you too). if you're in a must-win situation (because eg. you're behind on points, and you haven't managed to sweep the guy), it's harder for you to switch gears if you're on the bottom - the top player can force his way into full guard and stall there. it can get very difficult to do anything from there if they're happy just blocking you. in other words, it's easier to squash most of activity when you're on the top. we call it "pouring concrete" in my country : ) and yes, it can be penalized if it gets too obvious to the ref... but sometimes it's still worth it (you can afford taking the penalty). so it's not all sunshine and roses to pull and defend guard
Lo não fez o seu jogo
