This one showed up on my schedule and I decided to keep it there. The Pacifica has more utility than any other vehicle on the market!
Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.

  • We rented a Voyager in May to go to the Indy 500. Loved it! We needed the stow-n-go feature, as we were shuttling around people and cargo for the week. Ours was only FWD, and got excellent fuel economy. In fact, the economy had me checking the odometer to be sure something wasn’t amiss - it was spot-on. It delivered over 30 mpg at highway speeds. My brother has a 2015 Sienna with the 3.5, and that thing is a gas-hog compared to this 3.6. I was very pleased with the engine/transmission performance in this MOPAR.

    • It's a very under rated vehicle, and just about the only one left in Chrysler's stable. Hopefully Chrysler will survive the coming years, but if not I could see the caravan making a comeback under the dodge nameplate.

  • Great job explaining the features, especially the cargo area and Stow N Go seats of the Pacifica.

  • Most people like SUVs, I feel if you're not going off road then you don't need an SUV and you're better off with the minivan! This minivan is my favorite of them all! I may disabled man I've got a bad back, many years is a firefighter paramedic, which really messed my spine up, of all the different vehicles out there this one is the easiest for me to get in and out of! It's also the best seating position, supports my back. So even if you do not have a bad back it's going to support your spine in a better way, which on a long drive with equal less fatigue. Bad back also means that I gained a whole lot of weight so for the very tall 6 foot 2 and above, obese, disabled guys this is your go-to vehicle right here!

    • Minivans are hated without good reason. I've driven an 80's dodge caravan with a manual transmission, that thing was fun! From the mid 90's to the mid 2000's minivans we're very floaty and terrible to drive. Since the last 2000's they've actually improved quite a lot. They are pretty flat when cornering, have decent power, get better fuel mileage than anything with this much storage, and have tons of utility. I've tried to convince my wife to get one because the kids can climb in and out much easier, they can work the doors with the push of a button, and the interior space is excellent! However she likes the higher ride height and all weather capability of her current SUV.

  • We rented a 2021"' Pacifica in last week of May of this year. To go to from Dallas, TX, to Yellowstone National Park its 2,800 miles roundtrip . We had five adults and two children . To say the least we were at full seating capacity. We found that the cargo was adequate, but I added out Yakima Topper for good measure..Acceleration was pretty good, I aired the tires up to 39 psi , maybe that helped. The one complaint and it maybe asking too much is ground clearance or specifically if one side of the vehicle Driver or passenger is higher do to uneven pavement 4 inches difference and it will scrape. Great vehicle, ...Great review! again

    • Thanks for watching and commenting! For hauling people and gear, the Pacifica is one of the best, especially as a rental!

    • If only Chrysler would make the Pacifica more reliable, then it would be the top minivan without competition. They have all the functionality down, but Honda and Toyota draw in customers for reliability.

  • Wife has a 2015 Sienna with 240k miles that’s been very reliable for us. Except we don’t drive it long distances. Rented the Voyager version of this van and found it better in every way. Quieter, smoother, more comfortable, and generally better in every way. The materials are of a higher quality and engine notably quicker. Haven’t driven the new Sienna, however the reviews generally repeat the same. Sienna gets better mpg but the Pacifica edges out the competition. Of course the trade off is that the new Sienna has a weak hybrid engine in comparison to this Pacifica.

    • Thanks for watching and commenting! Longevity and reliability on the Sienna should be better, and I did quite enjoy the new Sienna as well. However no one tops Chrysler on minivan utility!

  • Are you going to try to get a hold of a Toyota Sienna Woodlands edition?

    @jacktough@jacktough Жыл бұрын
    • If I have the opportunity I definitely will. I have tested the new Sienna Hybrid, but not the Woodlands.

      @EngineAdventures@EngineAdventures Жыл бұрын
    • @@EngineAdventures As much as I like the premise of the Woodlands, I think I would be put off by the CVT in this application

      @jacktough@jacktough Жыл бұрын
    • @@jacktough if I remember correctly it's a gear driven CVT, no belts. Should be a reliable system, but time will tell.

  • But will it out wheel a 99 XJ with 12-hole injectors?

    @CrawlinTJ50@CrawlinTJ50 Жыл бұрын
    • I'm thinking I should have taken this thing over my offroad course. Maybe next time, I'll just have to be extra careful about it. You should upgrade to at least 4 hole, if not 12. It'll get you that extra 2 ft lbs of torque and .25 mpg that you need for Grey Goose (what did you name your TJ?) to be perfected.
