Yeah, the ruler thing is legit. It REQUIRES paper or something similar with large surface area and low weight. The air pressure pushing down on it and the sudden vacumm underneath created with the quick impact on the ruler are what causes the effect.

For the ruler hack, you used a fruit roll up instead of paper. You're supposed to use paper and she didn't use her finger to hold it because you could see both of her hands.😊

For the ruler and paper, you need to use a piece of paper. The surface area of the paper creates downward suction between the counter and the paper itself which in return holds the ruler down onto the counter preventing it from moving. You need to try it Lia. It really works. I've done it before.

the ruler thing needs paper because when you pick up the ruler normally, the air goes underneath it and you only have to pull against gravity. however, if you cover it with enough paper then the surface area for the air pressure to press down on the ruler is increased, which is why the ruler stays put.
Superglue would also work, as would a house brick, or even ya sisters used tampon. 😂

It's actually a polymer used for absorbing chemical spills, you can get large amounts for much cheaper per lb. Someone thought it looked neat so they packaged it up as a novelty toy. Smart.

IT HAS TO BE PAPER ON THE RULER! It's all about air pressure. The amount of air that the paper has to move out of the way before the ruler will move is heavier for a fraction of a second before it will allow the ruler to move. It will fail when the paper allows air to seep under itself. You can break a wooden ruler if you hit it fast enough and the paper is large enough. Simple explanation: the paper acts like a giant suction cup for a split second

actually I studied about the ruler and the paper hack. it works like that because when you unfold a paper it contains air and because of the weight of the air the ruler does not fall. It is what I studied .

I can go ahead and confirm that the roses hack does work. For a science project for school, we grew plants and our water for them was dyed blue. They did eventually turn blue but it did take several weeks
