  • The 2 lane courtesy drives me nuts. We have a few in my league like that. I had to tell one guy after he slammed his ball down and gave me “the look.” I said, “my man, it’s 40 (5) person teams. I’m not looking to stay for breakfast.” He didn’t appreciate it. 😂

    • After bowling 1 lane courtesy in tournaments, I sort of agree. The problem is in league an extra lane courtesy if needed to shield your eyes from all manner of nonsense. 1 lane courtesy in scratch tournament where people just bowl and don't do theatrics is easier.

I would throw a shot and have a kid kick me in the back of the leg as he ran up and bowled right next to me. I had zero lane courtesy! After a few weeks of that, nothing bothered me!

    • We bowl 2 lane courtesy at an over 50 tournament and it goes great because every bowler is doing it and ready to bowl. Average league should definitely be one lane courtesy

    • I literally had someone complaining about my buddy and i today. My buddy did it one more time to irritate the guy. Then we just slowed down a sec. But then I guy started complaining about the pins. When he started complaining about lane conditions, I was like, "hey bud, you came in right after a league, and you've been bowling for 2 hours."

  • Hahaha.. you NAILED them! .. I run into ALL of these like almost every time I go bowling at our center. I love the "too many balls on the ball return" one especially. This is EVERY league night for me. I put just 1 ball on the return and my spare ball below on a ball cup. Meanwhile, half of the other people have like 3 or 4 balls up and we have NO SPACE left on the ball return. So frustrating! ..argh!

    @squidly2112@squidly21123 ай бұрын
    • I think unless its 5 bowler teams, you can get away with 2 balls each on the return, guess thats dependent on the ball return capacity though. Like you I only keep one on the return and spare ball goes under the ball return. I wouldnt shame anyone for having 2 on the return though. Anything more is excessive.

      @crimsontide1980@crimsontide19803 ай бұрын
    • @@crimsontide1980 - I agree with you, I don't shame anyone for having 2, but sometimes we have had people with 3 or more. With 2 balls per person that's 16 balls, which I think either barely fits our returns, or might not even quite fit. I try to keep a policy of only having the 1 ball I am throwing on the return. I keep my spare ball below, and if I have to use it I will throw it and when it returns I place it back under the return. I just don't like all of the congestion. We sometimes will play another team that is really good at doing the same and it's nice because there is enough room then, where everything isn't all congested. Last night I went through 5 different balls (had really tricky lanes and just couldn't figure out the right ball) but I never had more than 1 ball on the return at a time. I try to make our play as enjoyable as possible and try to maintain courtesy and etiquette as much as I can. It just makes everything more fun.

      @squidly2112@squidly21123 ай бұрын
    • I bowled a dual pattern tournament so I needed one ball for each pattern and a spare ball. Center didn't have any place for the extra balls so I would set my spare ball on one of the seats. Some bowling centers need a rack on wheels that can hold 8 or 10 balls for each pair.

      @ripvanrevs@ripvanrevs3 ай бұрын
    • @@ripvanrevs - I keep telling my bowling center to a bunch of those tubular rack things that slide under the ball return. We have 52 lanes so I suspect that is why they haven't done it. Probably a bit expensive. I have considered buying my own and bringing it with me for league nights though. I just may do that some day.

      @squidly2112@squidly21123 ай бұрын
    • @@squidly2112 Good point, your math makes sense. I never put more than one at a time. League bowling isn't like PBA oil conditions where both lanes are oiled way differently and you need to throw a different ball on each lane. If I switch balls mid game I simply remove the previous ball since I won't be throwing it the rest of the night

The bowler who is constantly missing when it's his/her time to bowl... maybe in volume 2... #2 - as soon as she put the ball down when she saw the split - that got me 🤣 I will admit for the two lane courtesy... when we start the approach at the same time, that distracts me.
