Rewatching this fight, I had it a draw Alicia won rounds 1,2,7,8 and 10 while Mayer won rounds 3,4,5,6 and 9. Though you can argue that Alicia won round 3 giving her the 6-4 win

This fight looked like a draw in my opinion. They should have a rematch.
Tbh I think they called the fight right. BUT she had her head on that line way too much. That’s why she got hit too much. More head movement and level changes Baumgardner woulda separated her self much more. Mayer was timing her very well. But Baumgardner landed more and had more power. I’m not upset with it.
I don't watch women boxing but this is one fight i had to see.
Fight was close but not as close as everyone is making it seem. Alycia landed double the power punches than Mayer and had a higher total punch count. Idk why people think jabs and power punches are weighted the same in the eyes of the judges, but you cannot win a fight with only jabs, especially when your counterpart is throwing every type of punch. Also the judge who scored it 97-93 is insane. 96-95 made sense and it should have been unanimous.

I scored every round and had it Alycia 96 and Mayer 94. A close fight, but the decision was right....Alycia won. However, in Mayers most recent fight against Jonas, she got robbed. She beat Jonas for sure, and it was NOT that close.

Just watched this fight for the first time. Thought Alycia won solidly 6-4 maybe 5-5 if you wanna give Mayer one of those last rounds. Close fight but I didn’t see her winning.

This wasn't even a close fight in my opinion. Rounds 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10 to Baumgardener. Rounds 4 and 5 Meyer. Aycia's adjustments to Meyers over commited jabs in 4 and 5 was a thing of beauty to watch. She began moving more her body more than her head so as to be able to step in for counter punches on Meyers over commited jabs. That created angles for beautiful combinations and more significant shots and variety of punches. Meyers jab was good and connected with Baumgardner a lot no doubt, but She responded with an equal amount of punches but each with significantly twice the damage. That for me gave Baumgardener the 6th down to the 10th.

You probably found out his name is Timothy Bradley . I dont think he does awful commentary, but i agree there are times he can be annoying. Some rounds when there is very little action he seems a little irritated, but thats how a long fight can get . The other guy, Andre Ward, knows how to stay quiet and wait until the action picks up.

This fight was a draw. Makaela won rounds 4,5,6,9&10. I think in a rematch, Makaela wins as she made the most adjustments in this fight and styles like Alycia’s are always difficult to deal with at first glance. Very entertaining chess match.

This was a close fight but I can see why Alycia won. Those first 4 rounds mattered. Rounds 5 & 6 definitely went to Mikaela. 7 & 8 were up in the air. 9. Mikaela won and 10 Alycia won. But that’s just how I saw it. Alycia definitely don’t need to be calling out Shields just yet.
Never seen a fighter with no defense getting hit repeatedly all night over and over win a fight without a knockout or a bad judge in place. Mayer clearly won that fight. Boxing needs a new system. Any other sport is judged by points. This was judged by opinion. The first judge had it scored correctly

This fight was sooooo close. I honestly don’t know enough about boxing to make an accurate assessment on who won but I’m learning. Based on my basic knowledge of the sport it seemed pretty dead even. Alycia got the win via split decision so that tells me that one of the judges thought she lost. I am happy she won though and Mikaela is one hell of a boxer, she was undefeated and I think she underestimated Alycia, which is why there wasn’t a rematch clause in contract. I think Mayer thought she would run through Alycia and then become undisputed at 130, then move up to fight Katie Taylor. Lesson learned for her.

Came here thinking from the short and someone sayig she whopped her but it was gonna be a fight fight. Glad it was only 2 min....but uhhhh idk...I had it a bit diff...I gave bum 1 and 2...mayer took the next 4...at the end of 8 I had it locked goin to the last i had mayer up...that jab was her best weapon...no doubt whole fight bum was landing ALL the power shots, but she kept eatin jabs alone and counter when she pauses for a selfie and work admiring...10 was the same....mayers jabs bum power shots and imo...ima shut up cuz bum is a cutie and I might meet her one day and who knows... Update: Nah dude below is right...all mayer had was the jab...which I put more weight on thasn the power shots and also doubted the punch total...but if its right...yeah bum won that, as I said she had ALL the power shots...mayer had a few but it was a steady diet of dingy jabs mostly...bum was hittin her with the whole fleet.

Very close fight. Watching it carefully even taking it back and rewatching rounds, clean shots and counters Mayer did better. first few rounds I give to Alycia but after it was close, but easily showing Mayer's hits connect snapping Alycia's head back several times. I think that's why she looked nervous and cried when she won because I don't think even, she felt she won but was hoping. OVERALL that fight was close, very close, but I think after the first couple rounds Mayer lander cleaner dead-on shots in my opinion.
