They display opposing emotions which just so happen to match classic comedy/tragedy masks (rather fitting for Joker's character), and were created with similar but reversed techniques (one was revealed by pouring from a dustpan, the other was revealed by scraping away with a squeegee)

  • It’s really interesting how art is moving in this sort of direction! Where it’s not just about the end result, it’s also about the process. What makes the squeegee art so cool is not just the end result, but the way you got there. I think if you were to see just the end result, it wouldn’t nearly be as impressive. The making of the art is an art form in of itself! It says a lot about art and how it’s being made in the age of Instagram and social media. Very well done!

I do think if it was to be for fun, then yes, but I dont think that those random people trying these “trends”, on things like tik tok is necessarily going to become real style. In other words I dont think the process will mean anything to the final process in terms of value

  • This was so fun to watch you work out a new technique! I would love to see Jazza try some fiber arts. Embroidery, weaving, etc.

  • Love how excited Jazza gets when trying out new art ‘hacks’ or techniques. He makes it so much fun to watch and makes you want to play and experiment and try new art techniques, mediums you name it why not try and you might have a lot of fun along the way and maybe accidentally learn something too. I call this a win - win 😊

  • With dustpan poured art the front of the pan is going to get naturally compressed and the back is going to be elongated. You can adjust this with the speed (essentially you need to be fearless at first and then precise later on). The sides of the dustpan are also going to stretch out later then the middle and almost squish outward.

  • It helps to wet the dustpan first with flow medium, so the paint doesn't stick to it and it pours out faster. If you're using water-based acrylics, you can wet it with just water instead.

  • Idea to try: making a tarot deck based on your interpretation of the cards (would be cool to see you do major arcana if not the whole deck)
