Kylie’s 1987 debut single “The Loco-motion” was re-produced in ’88 with the Hit Factory’s Stock Aitken and Waterman for this UK number 2 hit. It was also her biggest hit in the US peaking at no.3 and was number one in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Japan and South Africa. The song was a cover of Little Eva’s American number one dancefloor sensation written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin and featured on the soundtrack for Arthur 2: On The Rocks starring Liza Minelli and Dudley Moore. Taken from “Kylie” her 7 x UK platinum debut album.

  • a Kylie Minogue la conocí en 1987 u 88 ya no recuerdo exactamente con locomotion en un programa de radio que se llamaba "The big backyard" directamente de Australia, era increible escuchar en esos años un programa totalmente en Ingles, en aquellos años no entendía nada, y no había internet pero muchas radiodifusoras pasaban programas directamente de aquellos paises y aqui en Cuernavaca, Morelos , Mexico no era la excepcion yo feliz escuchando lo que Oceania y Europa sonaba, cuando en America era desconocidos todos estos artistas, Kylie era desconocida en USA , pero en Mexico mucha gente la reconocia por este programa, ahora ya no escucho radio, todo cambio ahora pasan solo perreo o regueton y esas cosas, es una lastima. Saludos desde Cuernavaca que en aquellos era la vanguardia en Musica directo de Australia y Europa. Hoy solo los recuerdos , es una lastima pero la vida sigue.

  • July 13th, 1987 Kylie Minogue released her cover of "Locomotion" as her debut single. 13 days later, I was born on July 26th, 1987. Kylie has been a pop star as long as I have been alive (Give or take 13 days) and I think that's pretty neat! Cheers to us for 36 years! 🥂

  • This was the first song I remember hearing when I came to Canada. I was 5 years old and my Kindergarten teacher would play it a lot! She was the nicest teacher I ever had. I had horrible experiences with others after that, but she is the only one I allow time my head with now. She was a beautiful blonde woman just like Kylie here. Bless them both :)

  • Wow, I remember her song 'The Loco-Motion' back in 1988. Recall hearing it played on the juke box in a local Pizza Hut restaurant here in the States. She was around 20 years old at the time. Honestly I might have spent the 50 cents of my own money to hear it. Can't recall clearly. My teenage hormones clouded my memories at the time. She was just...... wow. Only 2 years older then me at the time. Which looking back made her remotely "attainable". Much to my embarrassment I didn't have a chance at all. She was just so pretty and petite. Every teenage boy's dream. Much love and respect for her
