  • What did you think of the ending?

    @Looper@Looper Жыл бұрын
    • The ending just didn't work for me. It left too many holes from a logical standpoint. First, by bringing back the head, it removed the myth into fact... a fact passed down, with evidence and yet, nobody in later era's even knew about predators? It would have made more sense for the predator to have fallen back into the mud pit and be swallowed up, no evidence. Second, by having the end as stated, the girl would know, and the tribe could have just been happy to have her back safe. The whole war chief thing at the end was a bit much... just my opinion. Still a good movie. When you have only have a few things you can point to in a movie, the writing is pretty solid.... unlike that OTHER movie coughThePredatorcough...

  • 07:40 No... In the Predator comic about Raphael and Greyback (The Predator Clan leader). This was about his hunt on earth and He didn't kill Raphael. Raphael didn't think it was right to steal from the church and wanted to return the treasure back to them but then his crew rebelled against him. He and the Predator fought together against his old crew and when they thought all of them were killed they were about to duel but not before one of his crew members that was hiding shot Raphael in the back. Greyback kills the pirate before he could escape and Raphael in his dying breath said "Take it" while he gave Greyback his pistol. Greyback in turn gave him his sword and said "Take it" then left the planet. Eventually Greyback became the Clan Leader being one of the few Predators know to have a successful hunt on earth

  • Unfortunately, it seems most people did NOT watch the ending. During the first half of the end credits, there are some animations in a native form of drawing representing some of the main scenes of the movie. As the credits begin to wrap up, the animation shows Naru presenting the head to the tribe. Suddenly the sky goes dark as the "Thunderbird" has returned. It is probably a safe assumption that the Predator family for the dead Hunter returns, slaughters the tribe, and takes the pistol as a trophy.

The larger breed predator travels and hunts alone and which towered over Arnold! I would think this was the first time on earth, or at least for these predators. • As for the pistol. It is entirely possible that the Translator Raphael is from the doomed pirate ship and before leaving was given one of the Captain's pistols, coincidentally having the same first name. Or even having the same last name and different first names, maybe brothers. This would make more sense since Raphael is well traveled and ended up with the French from the pirate ship. It might be that there were in fact two pistols made for Raphael by the Captain of the ship before he departed. A fitting present for a Captain to give his brother, and valued crew member, upon leaving to seek his own fortune with a group of French. Raphael could have left one the Pistols with the captain, his brother, as a parting gift also. Even more poetic might be that they were twin brothers to mirror the twin pistols made. A great dialogue between them might be..... Captain: "Take these." [gives Raphael two pistols] you name is on them so those trappers can't steal one and claim ownership. Raphael: "Brother, a wonderful parting gift. But, you keep one. Know that I will be with you on your journeys, there, also to protect you." [the twin brothers hug] The twin pistols part ways along with the men that carry them not knowing they will share the same fate, as sometimes twins do....

And throughout the entire movie Naru doesn’t change at all

    @milesgraham1038@milesgraham1038 Жыл бұрын
    • This is 99% of movies man. You know the main character isn't going to die and will probably succeed in the end. I agree the character development wasn't really there but I appreciated that they skipped straight to the action, spending very little time bullshitting and getting straight to the gore. That left no space for meaningless development for characters who will die and never be relevant again. And while I don't think Naru changed very much in my eyes the beauty of her character was being very observant to every technique Predator uses and eventually using them all against him. I mean the mask, the laser guided arrows, the tree jumping, the shield, Predator vision was all taken into consideration in her counter attack. She was the prey and became the predator, fulfilling her goal of becoming an official hunter within her tribe. This is a stark contrast to how scared she was fighting the lion in the beginning of the movie. I think she learned a respect for predators (lions, bears, aliens) that she didn't have before as an "unblooded" girl trying to become a hunter.

  • I think the clue how they get the gun is hidden in the beginning of end credits. During end credits when they showing sequence of "wall paintings" that showed everything what happened in the movie - everything except one thing. Last painting shows that after Naru becomes War Chief they spotted more Predator ships on the sky, so perhaps the chief of the tribe gave the predators a pistol as a sign of respect when they came to retrieve the body of their fallen warrior? But that just my theory, and sorry for bad english.

  • Honestly in my opinion they should have made a predator movie during the time before Humanity had created rifles and guns, like probably during the Dark Ages and medieval error, now that probably would have been more realistic but it would had been unfair to the humans, because they would be at a huge disadvantage when standing Toe to Toe against the Predator, no matter how an experience he is either in technology and/or weaponry.

  • I may have a theory of how the predator got the pistol back if we don't use the comic. So I'm sure some may have seen the scene of the cave paintings. So toward the end it shows two ships landing well of course to get the body. I think naru decided to fight the elders since she is still mad about her brother's death. They fight but most likely ended with her death and they took the pistol. Then the ferals had a fight with the other predators and they took the gun

  • Well, if you go too far into the future for the setting of these movies. You run the risk of trying to think up and create futuristic weapons, that aren't so one-sided. Meaning, it would be too advanced and it would all be automated technology that really wouldn't require a lot of hunting skills. Like how guns are too easy to use and don't require a whole lot of skill to kill someone. If anything, it's too easy to kill someone now. The step back in time makes more sense with these movies bc the arsenals require skillful use and is more suitable for an exciting hunt. However, that does only apply to the human species. When fighting other aliens on different planets, I'm sure (or they should) be using different weapons

While making herself hard to hit in melee, tricking the predator into using his spike launcher, he didn’t realize she had the helmet and so their homing activated and rapidly diverted path to the target (the predaters head). She basically tricked it into killing itself because she couldn’t overpower it normally. Finally a female character that had to learn and adapt to win. Instead of just being an unstoppable badass. I loved this movie.

They demonstrate in the movie that his arrows are locked into whatever his helmet targets. So if he wasn't wearing his helmet, those projectile arrows would have been useless and impossible to predict where they will go so why would he use those it makes no sense? He died because she set the helmet up to perfectly lock onto his head, but ask yourself again, why the hell would he try to shoot her with that weapon if HE DIDNT HAVE HIS HELMET ON. Those arrows are tied to the helmet tracking lock on without it he should have never fired them it's what got himself killed

  • I was extremely worried when i heard the plot of the movie, when it was set and who the main character would be . I admit I was skeptical because of the new direction most movies these, especially those with a "girl power" theme , so I was expecting another piece of "woke garbage" to put the final nail in the coffin of the Predator franchise. But holy shit was I wrong, the writers and directors of this movie gave it completely new life and I am in love with this film as it brought back the old feelings of the original predator . Also Naru was so well done along with her brother. Naru in my opinion is the "Ripley" of the Predator universe in which she is simply an ultimate survivor and understands her foes . She is an amazing character and was actually realistic in her methods . I was wondering how a 15 year old looking Indian girl would even dare match up against a Predator , and as the movie rolled on it was so well told and foreshadowed how, again in a totally realistic way in accordance to that franchise . I hope they do another with Naru and with that showing how the gun does end up back with the predator clan. There is after all a human female who was indeed taken in by the Yautja down the line, but for fun that doesnt mean Naru cant possibly take that path in another installment . Im just excited after the crap we have been given since Predator 2 .
