In this video I show how I made a wood carving gouge with a 5160 steel carriage spiral spring. The gouge was darkened with burnt oil during the tempering process in the forge.     • Mounting it at all rather than just placing it on a log and hoping for the best would help a lot (and be MUCH safer)
