  • Ronald, Thanks for this. Watched your video, downloaded the file, printed one out for my MAPP tank. Fit perfectly.

  • Ok I'll have to give those a try

  • Just a note on printing objects with threads. I always turn off M413 in gcode (power loss recovery) and have my printer (Ender 6 CoreXY) connected to a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply)....have had ZERO blobs at layer changes and was able to print through a power outage from a storm...UPS gave me enough time to setup my gasoline generator. Additionally, 0.12 layer height can of course take longer. If memory serves me correctly, I think I printed some tire valve caps with no thread issues. I have discovered that with decreased layer height, it really helps to reduce the extrusion factor. At a 0.2 layer height I set extrusion factor to 0.95. At 0.16 layer height, I reduce extrusion factor to 0.85 or thereabouts. Always had practically perfect prints after figuring out this little "nuance"!!!...and yes, I did initially extrusion calibration through gcode!!! Another "trick" for even height Z layers I discovered through Alex Kenis channel where he drops an 8mm steel ball bearing into the Z-Axis shaft coupler which allows shaft-to-shaft contact and still allows flex on rotation--removes vertical bounce caused by the spiral cuts in the coupler. Very good hack!!!

  • Thanks for the idea. Even more fore sharing the file. I will probably try to design my own for practice on CAD, but after printing some of my own at my local library. I will add that to my list of potential projects for 3D printing. I’m trying to find justification to buy my own printer. Thanks again for sharing. Keep up the great work.

    • 3D printers don't have to be the expensive ones to have a lot of fun... and learn a lot in the process. A bit like buying a drill press (or any new tool). Then you don't know how you ever got along without one... and you keep finding new uses for it. :-) Thanks for watching. Ron
