Really speaks to Gary Numan’s talent that he’s on a song with a Beatle and no one’s talking about the Beatle

The syth riff McCartney is playing on moog is actually the bassline. Simple, yet instantly catchy, as if it's been there forever...That's Paul's magic touch. And of course Gary's vocal is impressive. Amazing song.

A bit like "Cars" then... Which I'm sure was in mind when writing. That was written on a bass guitar. I still think it's so awesome that this collaboration has happened 🎸😍

Cars sound, Devo Whip It sound, and other stuff sound. Sounds like a hit in a dreamy within you without you way. Get religious with states' rights. Only the amazing grace of Jesus The Christ of The Holy Bible has been saving a miserable wretch like me. Lest I vaunt myself before GOD saying mine own hand hath saved me.

I thought it was my cheap headphones but even genius lyrics could not make out the words. For a long time I had no idea the lyrics were We were talking about the space between us all on within you without you. It took me so long to find out, but I found out. Day tripper yeah.

That's why I listened to folk music at Andersons Fair Retail Restaurant in Houston. The hardest singer to understand lyrics was Lyle Lovett. And only on some of his songs at a live performance with him solo and his drummer on brushes. But crystal clear with headphones. Which I found out after he chased me down in the Texas Art Supply parking lot to give me a copy of his demo tape after I was turned away from the album release party, invitation in hand, because of overcrowding fire regulations. It was packed even to the door. No argument from me. Somehow Lyle found out and was being super polite as usual.

New article: Paul McCartney says John Lennon would have been all over auto tune. Hint: John Lennon had excellent relative pitch by constant practice, not perfect pitch. Paul still has his sense of humor and perfect pitch.
