Serena the Queen of Miami Open. Her record at the tournament is amazing 8 titles. But who would of thought that Kerber would beat Serena in 2 Grand Slam finals.

Kerber is a wonderful player, but not at all at the same level as Serena. She only did beat Serena when she was playing her best tennis and Serena was playing her worst tennis. Also head 2 head it is 8-6 in favour of Serena

@@doksh5740 2016 Australian Open, Serena wasn't playing worst. She got outplayed. Although what you said is true for their Wimbledon final.

@@apaarmaheshwari8673 Serena played a erratic first set but mostly due to Kerber making every shot back and Serena’s nervousness. Last two sets were really really good. 2018 Serena just didn’t show up to that final signaling the beginning of losing 4 finals post pregnancy

I like when great pushers like Kerber play against powerful hitters like Serena, it makes the match interesting.

I wouldn't call Kerber a pusher. More of a aggressive counter puncher. She goes for her shots when she has them.

She played great. She chased down many balls. She played better than the average girls. If not for Serena, Kerber would have been the most dominant WTA in 2010's

She was in great shape in 2010-2016. She suffered a permanent knee injury in 2016 that has made it hard for her to lose weight.

@Jason toby Serena's mental fortitude has diminished in recent years, but it's not entirely because of her loss to Vinci. Serena eventually moved on from that loss, but it was clear in 2016 despite her good results that she was not physically at a 100%. She DID have a knee injury and she has no more tissue left in her knees which is why she has been more prone to knee injuries several times in the past few years alone. Her movement is the biggest reason why she can't win big tournaments anymore, not her mental strength.

Serena never should have lost that Wimbledon final to Maria. I think she did not do her due diligence and really study how Maria played Lindsey Davenport in the semi finals. She beat Lindsey and this should have been a headsup for Serena. She was a bit too over confident because the media had her pegged as the overwhelming favorite.
