Resin used in this video was Stone Coat Countertops Art Coat (www.stonecoatcountertops.com/.... There are many, many types of resin. Differences in resins will include work time, yellowing factor, smell, etc.
Things you can use to color resin: Resin tints, inks, acrylic paints, mica powders, glitter, nail polish, eye shadow, etc.
You will need either a torch or a heat gun to get rid of the air bubbles. They also heat the resin up to make it easier to move around. You can also use a hairdryer to move the resin around, though it will not get rid of all the air bubbles.
Once complete, a resin painting takes about 24 hours to cure. You will need to make sure it dries level and in a dust and wind-free environment. An easy way to do this is to cover it with a box or container.
After it is dry, you can add another layer of resin on it as desired, either a clear coat or an additional layer of color for depth. Just sand in between coats. With resin, you can also add in other things such as rocks, sequins, glitter, gold leaf, etc. etc. The possibilities are endless :)

THIS VIDEO IS INTENDED FOR ADULTS.
Jesus. Mary. and Joseph. Thank you. I've been searching everywhere for this video. Finally someone who cared enough to help the rest of us. Bless you kind lady. You just made my life a lot easier. I subscribed to your channel.
You're very welcome :)
You forgot to mention the wee donkey. J,M&J and the wee donkey as well 😀
Amen thank you so much I’ve been interested in starting this
Lol don’t forget the other guy 🤣
Hahaha…I haven’t heard that saying since my mom said it 20 years ago….I love it….thanks for bringing back funny memories. 🤗
I'm a resin newbie and have been watching different videos to learn what to do and not do. Your video was the easiest to follow by a long shot. Your video makes me even more excited to get started because I feel more confident with your videos out there! Thank you so much!
Thank you for making this so easy to get, you have lifted the shroud of mystery that some other teachers of this craft who make it difficult to follow. ❤❤❤❤❤
Just an FYI - When I make my jewelry, I gently blow into a straw across the resin. My breath is warm enough to bring the bubbles to the surface and pop. It works great for me and it keeps my work space clear of items like hairdryers, etc. that I won't use for more than a minute or two. Certainly for large projects like river tables, where larger areas of bubbles need to be removed quickly, blowing in a straw just won't do the job. However, because it works for me when making jewelry or pictures so well, I thought it might be of some value to others also. Thanks for your video. You answered the questions I had about what things would work to color resin, how to use them, and what the results would be. It was extremely helpful!
Very sensible n open
That points condensation into or on the resin.
would a hair dryer work ?
Thanks for your info.... xxx
When I try to mix resin w colors, it looks nice at first. Then I come back and it has blended and mixed in a lot. How did u avoid this?
I am a crafter and I accidentally bought resin dye thinking it was something else. Let’s just say, I am gearing up for another hobby. I love what you did and I can’t wait to get started. Thank you for taking the time to show these steps!
Thank you for your explanation of the use of resin with various paints and alcohol ink. I have been viewing DIYs and a lot of them make it seem like a chore to do. Watching you, I am inspired even more to try it. I'm not an artist and don't know how to draw, but I love color and have watched hundreds of tutorials on this. I've always felt that knowing how to use color-- to me is relaxing and enjoying the end result of what one has been created. Once again, I am inspired. Thank you.
You're welcome :)
I just love tour channel, it was you and Sandra Lett, that lead me to my journey of art! I lost my close friend 2 years Xmas day, and was asked to make a memory box! I never stopped there! The first video I watched of you was pouring over a small table and vases! That was almost 2 years ago! I’ve sold so many beautiful pieces and if it wasn’t for the both of you, I wouldn’t of attempted! So thank you very very much!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️😀😀😀
As one who is exploring resin art, you have helped me tremendously! Thank you for being an awesome instructor!
Thank you for this eloquent tutorial. It was to the point, not long and drawn out about your personal life. Thank you a million times!
Resin 101 - ♥️ I love the introduction of various things that can color resin.
This is the only video i could find that actually made sense. Thank you!!!
I agree ! Wish i found it first 20 other videos later, And they all skip the resin/hardener/paint mixing!
HereWeGoMel so true
HereWeGoMel right!!👍🏾
Thank you very much,, I done watched so many other channels on this type of project and none made me feel confident with trying to do it myself until now!! I’m officially a subscriber👍🏾🔥😎have an awesome day🌹
You are spot on! This is the only video that made any sense at all. Everyone else tells you everything EXCEPT what the hell to do and how to do it lol!
Thanks, Girl! You answered at least SIX questions I had. I've been especially interested in what you can mix into resin, and you just saved me a BUNCh of $$ trying these things myself. The fingernail polish was a new one for me. Thanks again for helping those of us new to the wonderful world of resin.
Very easy to listen too, great job explaining every step and attention to detail. Thank you, I feel less worried about getting the wrong tools.
Doing my first resin pour today & also one of the Free Form Geodes!! Thanks so much! I have been doung the Flip Cup, Dirty Pour, Tree Ring, etc for almost 2 years and have sold 12 pieces!! I have been working up to doing both of these for over 1 year now!!

Yes it is gorgeous
Thank you for explaining very slowly and simply, awesome teacher.
Very helpful, I didn’t realize you could use all of those different items to color resin. And the end project came out really nice! Thanks!
I just tried applying resin last night to a pour painting. I knew i was going to make mistakes so I practiced on a “painting flop.” I learned a lot and am pleased with the results! I’m going to keep practicing! I can’t wait to perfect it! I love the way resin finishes a painting! Thank you for all that you teach us!
Love the results, looking for something for my Deaf son to find something to relax him. This is awesome!

Thank you for uploading this. Very informative tutorial with lots of very useful tips and it really gets the imagination working on what is possible, which in my mind is pretty much "If you can think of it you can probably do it."
So glad I came across this tutorial....Very easy to follow and understand, with lots of necessary details. Thank you!
Fabulously clear and helpful instructions - thank you. Was in a shop today and was given much misinformation...so thanks again for your clarity, and showing all the possibilities for additives into resin. What would we all do without clever KZheadrs ...blessings upon you all!!!!
Great tutorial. I use a hair dryer for the bubbles and a tooth pick if necessary. Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm not worried about trying this now.

Awesome tutorial on the difference between these colors and powders and nail polish and eyeshadow I loved it thank you so much for producing this and showing us how it is done you got this
I do love the addition of the glitter!
I’m so happy to see cells in resin iv never had success with cells but I love your tutorial you’re very relaxed and flexible about everything, but I’ve found that if you don’t raise your painting it will stick to the surface and it’s hard to remove later. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Resin doesn't stick to parchment paper :)
Oh for heaven's sakes, roll on next payday so I can try this!! 😃😃
Hilarious! Art supplies are NOT cheap and they are very addictive!
Great to see all the different colour agents that you can add to the resin - thank you
Thank you so much for this video ! One of the best resin tutorials I’ve seen thus far ! You are truly amazing
I’ve been waiting so long for a good detailed tutorial thank you!
You are so good, love your tutorial, very inspiring for us newbies just starting out.
Great video. Thank you for explaining the steps and showing the process so well from beginning to end.
OMG I had absolutely no idea you could mix nail polish!! I am having some financial issues right now (always I'm disabled permanently) and I cannot afford anything except my resin but I really want to get started with some coasters so I made a silicone coaster mold and now I have a huge collection of nail polish that I can tint it with along with my regular acrylic paint thanks to you!!!💜♥️💜 Much love from a struggling artist in Texas
Oh, thank you! I seriously can't wait to get my resin and my Mica powder. I have some Chrome powders I ordered a long time ago from Amazon for my fingernails. It can also be used as eyeshadow. I have a whole bunch of it too so that's awesome to know I can use it. They are really cool colors too, they are chameleons and iridescent powders. So the only thing I think I will need is a heat gun because my hair blower will probably blow it too hard and I will want to manipulate to spread the colors. I want to thank you so much!
It look so beautiful, like a view from outer space looking down to the earth 👍✌🏼🌺🦋💖❤️😊🌈😘it. God Bless take care and stay safe from Edith in 🇦🇺
Thanks for all the information. I’m excited to keep learning, as it is making my work more beautiful to the eye, professional and marketable. Thank you for caring enough to share with us. You’re the real MVP

Thank you for your video! The info was clear and you answered all the questions I had :)
What a great tutorial! It answers a couple of questions I've had about everything that can be used with resin. Thanks for the tip about using eye shadow, nail polish and glitter. It's a great way to start out with resin until I can build some confidence to use the good stuff. 😊
Every single time I have tried nail polish -- various colors, brands, etc. -- it turned out horribly. I do not recommend it.
This one is my all time favorite you have done.
Nice tutorial, I have been wondering about nail polish and eye shadow … they do blend nicely. Thank you 😊
thank you for this, I am waiting for my resin to arrive ... and then I can start my first piece ...
