I agree. it’s all very clickbaity, but at least some useful info. LOL in this video, that plug is what 2 or 3 wires, it can’t be the interface to the driving assistant panel or module. Besides, you wont have parking the physical sensors even if you this plug
I agree this was a clickbait video. About 60 seconds of useful info (where this connector is, and what it is used for). The video would have been useful if he provided the part number for the module that plugs into the cable, and showed how to install it and code the new functions.
But wouldn’t your car have to have the sensors already installed in order for the drive assist to work along with the projector for the HUD
Thanks, Dean. I had a 2016 US model 320i F20 as one of our test cars for tuning. In the sun I can see in certain angles on the dash the late departure assist and other features that were disabled, embedded in there similar to my 335i's other features that I didn't know were so simple to upgrade. I wish I would have known this then. This would be a no-brainer. At least the tuning upgrade worked great and it was making 328i+ performance numbers with very little effort. Another oddity about the 320i is that it has slightly less sound-deadening material than the 328i. So they cut corners in odd ways. It was lighter with higher compression, so dialing up the boost and fueling on that N20 made it a really fun car, especially with a 6-speed manual. I kept all OEM badges and upset a lot of people :) Ultimate Sleeper.

Ok u said the wire harnesses are basically the same so my question is, are they the same for the idrive system in a 2011 e90 and a 2011 f10? Cause I’m wanting to install a unit to my e90 but they don’t do a unit for the dash idrive and I’m happy to retro fit it but can find out if the wiring harness is going to work

I think you would need more than the module and the vibration steering wheel , so for example the Kafas camera to detect the road lines, the module can not work without it. Am I right? Thanks a lot for the vídeo.

Thats exactly why :) BMW just don't activate it I mean you don't even have to have the switches you can permanently enable it with coding without the switches

You helped me solve my issue with my 2007 BMW X3 si 3.0L. The eccentric cam shaft sensor was the issue with rough idle, dying when coming to a stop, erratic sluggish engine operation. It all disappeared when I changed that sensor out under the valve cover. Thanks, David Dickinson,Texas.

If you retrofit HUD you need to replace the windscreen as well. HUD uses a special windscreen.
Nah, there are special sticker films for that.
True, HUD Windscreens have a special geometry of the layer between both glasses. The option to put a sticker on the windscreen is only for cheap aftermarket systems. No BMW Mercedes or VAG will come with a sticker !!!!
@@Supremepikachu Can you link me to it? My X3 has the HUD but I had my windshield replaced and got a replica non BMW windshield. It causes a double image. I wouldn't mind using a film as long as it's not complete trash lol.

You MUST know how to work on your car and MUST be good at it to go out and buy a n63b44 engine car especially a 7 series. You can find everything at youtube, if you take it to shops to fix that thing will be a moneypit

Lane assist doesn't steer. For blind spot you need mirror electronics, master and slave radars in rear bumper, wiring, coding. If you can get cheap parts then way to go.

That’s correct BMW doesn’t tell you ! You may already have the modules fitted.

the adas (advanced driving assist system) is all controlled thru the cameras in the front windscreen .. the cameras are behind the rear view mirror cowling .. if your bmw is lower Spector windscreen won't have the adas cams that operate the assists .. full assists are .. lane change ..auto braking ..gantry reader (speed) in a basic example the cost of a basic rain sensored screen . is say 150 for the glass ..and a full adas screen would be 3 to 4 times more expensive ..so for example for a 2017 3 series full ad as screen fitted u would be looking at around 700 to £800 fitted .. then u would need the ads cams ..depending on which driver aid functions depends on the cam .. I would think u would be 300 into the single lane assist cam .. then u would need I to be calibrated which ..some features use a static board system where by the car is facing special boards with mega macs obd to set up .. or dynamic which the vehicle is plugged in and taken on a test drive to set the lane assist and sign reading assists ..General calibration would be around 130 to 150 .. if i were to fit the screen and callibrate and suply cams and sensors u wouldn't get much change out of 1500 ...at best.. alternatively .. a local windscreen company may be able to wire out a loaded screen from a breakers yard for a fraction of the cost and all cams would be present .. automotive glazier of 20+ years
