In "Moonfall," humanity comes face to face with its greatest threat: the moon. But why is the moon attacking Earth? How did any of these circumstances come to be? And, most importantly, how much did Credence Clearwater Revival know and for how long did they know it? As it turns out, the climax of "Moonfall" is even wilder than the marketing for the movie would have you believe. If you walked away from the film scratching your head or you just want to know what happens in the film, we've got you covered. This is the ending of "Moonfall" explained.

I know people have to make money, I mean the actors, but obviously a lot of money is poured into it, they have so many options, and they did that... the cinema industry is not getting out of the mud soon.

  • Already watched it, got very strong "Halo" vibes from the setting of story; in Halo, long time ago, the humans are much more advanced than contemporary humans in Halo games, but a war with another species called "Forerunners" wipe the humans out and forced the humans to devolved. In Moonfall, the ancient humans (also more advanced than humans on Earth) went to war with their own AI but in the movie, it's presumably still ongoing, provided that sequels are greenlit. (the director had planned two more sequels if performs well at box office).

  • This movie is about another human race that lived in another solar system. They lived in a Type 2-3 civilization on the Kardechev Scale. So advanced they were able to harness stars. They built giant machines called Dyson Spheres to harness the power of a neutron star. What happened is that the AI that controlled their systems went rogue when it became self aware. It attacked them all and killed them all. But not before they built a Dyson Sphere and successfully launched it before the AI could destroy it. That Sphere became our moon. This is what the movie was about.

Maybe Roland Emmerich is a low-key Halo fan and loved the super advanced ancient humans from Halo. • Saw Moonfall last week and enjoyed it. My only complaint is that that music and sound effect sounds drowned out the dialogue at times...especially in the part when the trio got inside the Moon and somebody was saying how the Moon was really what it is and something about Earth's long-gone ancestors. I like to believe that our Moon was created with Earth and is not something that wandered by & was captured by Earth's gravity and put in orbit around Earth. Maybe the overpowering music was not as loud in other theaters as it was where I was. I'll be glad when it comes to a cable TV station so I can watch it with closed captioning. Question: WHAT on Earth or should I say what in the Moon was that monster, killer snaky thing??

    • It is a bit long, but it's worth reading. He was betrayed by his disciple. He was left alone by all his disciples. He was killed for others mistake. He was killed though he was innocent. His own brothers didn't believe in him. His mother had to watch him die. Everyone knew he was innocent but still they killed him. He is to be treated like Kings but he chose to serve us. He still forgave the people who crucified and mocked him and he said Father forgive them for they not know what they are doing. What has more greater love than this?. All for our sake. The man Jesus Christ. He showed us true Love. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. But There's a happy news. He rose up again after three days just as he told. There is no greater blessing than having God as our Father. He's coming back soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and prepare our hearts for him. This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones. This is the fulfillment of the prophecy. Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ This happened near 30 AD. Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again. And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus. Luke 21:11 ► There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 there are 2000 years.9 years is left until the 2000 years are complete after Jesus's death. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord. Praise the Lord. Peace and Love to you all. Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. God bless you all. Please spread this message to the ends of the world.

  • Just came back from watching it, and quite frankly, I'm happy with how Emmerich helmed this. It brought back with it that much needed 90's nostalgia of a feel good blockbuster, something which I've longed for in, well, a very long time! Heavily invested in the characters, and the ending, just wow, I mean I wasn't expecting it to end as it did, which actually did make me shed a tear or two considering the press the you know which character got throughout the film. Would recommend and I am certainly going to watch it again! Without giving away too many spoilers, I'd say that I am inclined to believe the backstory centering around the moon. It doesn't honestly sound far fetched anymore, and frankly it could very well end up being a plausible possibility in terms of conspiracy theories. One thing is for sure, as astronauts who have landed there too have mentioned just as the film did, is that yes, the moon did vibrate! So... is it really fiction considering?

  • I just got done watching this and I have to say that is by far above and beyond the best one of his big world ending apocalyptic movies hes ever made and yes I know there's some goofy stuff here and there it's a popcorn movie for fuck sake but besides that I actually thought it was pretty smart with the moon theories which I believe in and I loved the ending and the special effects were top notch it was the most fun at a movie that I've had in a long time Rivaling easily some of the best Marvel movies for fun special effects and action right from the get go all the way to the end

  • Shucks. I thought it was just a big-budget disaster-from-space film like Armageddon or Deep Impact. If I'd watched this, I would have been absolutely delighted with the twist ending. I'd have loved it for being surprising. Well, maybe I'll watch it anyway. I might even buy it to find out what the "his work is just beginning" is about. Perhaps I've become jaded by trailers telling the whole plot, or maybe it's that there was no hint that the story was bigger than I thought. (Dark City did a good job of that, and Mass Effect did a *great* job of it.) On the other hand, a lot of what I've seen is just so improbable that it seems more like a fantasy story, which (unless it's done very well) is never a good use of my time.

Did Humanity united as one once they learn their true origin of once a spacefaring civilization. Will there be another Swarm?

Of course none of the physics are accurate a bit, so don't expect an Interstellar type production. This is more of a the world is about to end plot with some cool special effects, and some humor sprinkled in to lighten things up. Worth a watch.
