  • To further improve the strength of the plates, you could spray them with truck bed liner to give them a rubber coating. You could also put some square pieces of chicken wire sandwiched between the concrete to add some rebar support. Great video!

  • On the mold... Just buy a cooler tub. They cost about $8... Have 17inch base, are perfectly round, are plastic so concrete wont stick. They are water tight so you can use a wetter mix... And bonus you can pond cure the plates in them for say 3 days after they set so your concrete gets to full strength.

    @josephmoore7403@josephmoore7403 Жыл бұрын
    • What's a cooler tub and pond curing? Do you mean by submersing the plates in water? Or do you mean by just putting some water on top of the concrete before it gets removed from the cooler tub?

    @gbkatriel@gbkatriel3 жыл бұрын
    • Just leave it out, uncovered of course, to cure. I’ve been told it takes 20+ days for concrete to cure to its maximum strength. That’s not to say you can’t use them after a few days, I just wouldn’t be too rough. I’ve also seen a video of a guy painting his weights with epoxy and they legit looked like they were manufactured.

  • Bro, thank you for your valuable content. Just ordered your e-book. It's great! BTW what are your thoughts on coloring concrete? Is it worth it? I've been making concrete plates for 2months now. Never got good results coloring them.. I've used different types of color , putting primer before I color. Never got good results so far. They look ugly.. Is it even worth it to color them? Have you thought about different types of molds? Like sylicone of liquid rubber or something like that? In my opinion they could be more convenient. Do you have something to recommend?
