Hi guys! Just found your channel and subscribed. We quit our jobs and sold or gave away everything almost 4 years ago, and continue to love our life of freedom. We also live in Airbnb's full time, and travel where the weather is warm. We've subscribed (#568) so that we can follow along on your amazing journey. Cheers from Athens, Greece :)
So nice to hear about similar experience. Have you made videos where you explain your choice?
@@ThePathsBeyond When we first started making videos it was only me (Tom) in the videos, but after a while Mike was convinced to be in them. I think we explained our choice to travel in the beginning, but it was when we first started making videos, so it wasn't very good lol.
tbh working a job like that for 2-4 years can leave you with enough savings for your entire lives if invested properly...
That's before tax!!! You need to work way more than that
Your struggles of work - weekend maintenance to prepare for work - work again, is a really relatable struggle for US audiences. When I was laid off, I lost interest in a lot of my hobbies, and I didn’t know what to do everyday even though when I had a job I said I would do all these fun things. Did you guys struggle with that at all?
It's been almost six months for one of us and 5 months for the other one since we quit our jobs. Honestly, we've been so busy with so many things that I didn't regret once. Were there a few days in which I was wondering what to do and felt a bit bored? Yes, but then came two thoughts: first, going back to work wouldn't make me feel less bored and, second, I still have a list of things I want to do, like reading new books, learning new stuff, socialising, etc.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here! You’re both action oriented and doing something about your passions outside of work. That’s really commendable :)
@Clio00hikaru 👍🏻
I'm so happy for you both🎉🎉 but I'll miss you❤❤ Thanks for this very thought provoking video, so well structured🤓
Bing worked a lot on it. Before this evening we’re hopeful to release the translated subtitles.
Good luck in your new adventures! Hugs from JL.
Thank you!🫶🏻
I'm soooo happy for you and proud of you. Enjoy life and I'd come to visit :)
Thank you very much and looking forward to seeing you!
Having no kids makes a difference in financial decisions
Indeed.
yeah go to southeast asia, better weather, food, tax
For the taxes there's no change possible when income is from real estate.
You made millions, what jobs did you do?
We had good jobs, we saved and avoided useless luxury. We are now in a rather simple life. No need to make millions
Understood. Very impressive indeed and wishing you both the very best on your journey!
There's a video where we explained in more details how we made it financially
