Other KZheadrs - look how rich I am Ed - here's how I look rich without being rich
The difference is most youtubers aren't actually rich, their parents are. Ed's not that kind of person, even he were properly wealthy I doubt he'd be the type to flaunt it.
He's doing OK with this channel... socialblade.com/youtube/c/vinwiki
@@emixmim Ooh you mean that Vehicle Virgins guy.
@@joeljeffrey9139 and many others.
The mistake most people make is assuming... Over many years, I have learned that having things (cars, watches, jewelry, large personal homes, etc) do not always equate to a persons wealth. Some wealthy people dont't even like things. Some people like things well beyond what they can afford. Some people find ways to acquire things without becoming wealthy. A developer I worked with a decade ago was responsible for converting his family farm land into parts of the greater Silicon Valley. Likely worth about $1B. Drove his 1980 farm truck everywhere decked out in levis and a pendleton with a baseball hat. Always seemed like a very happy dude. Had an employee that bought bought a MBZ, truck, big house, ski boat and a large house for the in laws over 2 years because they thought they could carry the payment with their significant other getting out of Law School. That person suffered and did not sleep well waiting for the repo men to come take it all back when the law job offers were not as sweet as expected. In the end was left with one house and the old Camry, but for two years looks like the rich and famous. KZhead is for entertainment. Entertainment is a show and needs eyes to be successful. Some KZheadrs make it a business and obtain the things as write offs. Some spend their daddy's money. Some just share how they do it for their own goals along with some great stories (and maybe some product placements) along the way. There is no sin in being entertaining on KZhead, regardless of how you fund that entertainment. I would bet Ed would expand his car collection if money was not an object, But I do not think that is flaunting, just pursuing ones passion with spare resources.
Ed may not have much liquidity, but he sleeps soundly at night knowing that, if he needs cash, Rabbit would offer him $5000 for the collection. Correction: $3000 and a he will throw in a slightly used bicycle he got for free off Craigslist.
Mark Deavult the internal monologue of that offer was read in Rabbits voice.
Correction: he didn’t get the bike for free off craigslist, he negotiated it down to $0
Allphonetips lol 😂😂😂
He negotiated it down to -30
Yes
Ed's transparency is as refreshing as it is helpful consumer advice.
I was thinking the same thing. I clicked the video thinking he wouldn't provide any actual numbers. I was dead wrong.
Yeah, that one thumbs-down is from Dave Ramsey.
Hahah yes

I was just telling my father about ed while listening to Dave Ramsey the other day. Super coincidental
just no.
Ed:Who Morgan Freeman wants to narrate his life. Ha
Love how Ed refers it as prostitute lamborghini, as if it is a trim level
It is. It came with butt implants diffuser.
gives new meaning to the phrase "butt dyno." or maybe not, I tried.
Ed, do you have butt implants?
abidamn fat injection*
It is.... it means base model 10 years old convertible
There are 2 kinda millionaires... those that are worth a million dollars... and those that have a million dollars. Its not the same thing, right Ed?
Nope.
Nope, you could be worth a millions on paper but that does not relate to hard momey in tour account, you could also be in debt, or have loans. If you have millions in your account that normally means you have that money..
@@Cent51 to be fair a million in a bank account is worthless. Inflation devalues money. Only idiots and morons do that.
Honestly there's absolutely no way I would have a million in the bank or in cash. I would rather have gold or whatever in assets.
you guys have to realize that 1 million in a bank account is only crazy if you think about it as all your money people that have got 1 million dollars in their bank accounts are usually already worth 10-15M
I like hearing Ed mention his car went to Lebanon knowing that he got that info from me haha.
Very much appreciated!

So if you were financing all of your current cars, would KZhead proceeds cover it yet? Lol
Watching you inspired me to start flipping in early 18. Always been a car guy, I'm a buyer for a nationwide dealer. So I knew the prices and it made good business sense. The first car I did in February was an 83 monte carlo ss. All original, white over blue. Beautiful car. Had 23k miles. I purchased the car from an older gentleman for $1,500. Spent around $300 getting it right (do all my own mechanical) put 3,000 miles on it and sold it for $7,500 2 months later. Then came the chaos. I ventured into c10 short bed trucks. I'll buy a fairly decent original truck, ls swap it with a bell tech kit, and average anywhere from 4k to 8k profit per truck. I'm 24 and messed my credit up young, so haven't had capital for high end cars yet. But have since fixed a lot of my credit woes. Looking forward to 19!
You don’t need credit just keep grinding and reinvesting your profits and you will eventually get where you want to be.
That's my dad's plan! He's a C10 nut and we're about to dip our toes into the LS swap world.
My advice is to not use credit until you get into 20k+ flips. Just keep rolling the profits from each flip to pay for the next one, but don't go too deep into a project you don't know enough about.
You're on the right track, young man. Cheers for having your life together at a perfect age.
Where did you find a Monte Carlo with 23k for 1500?
Because he negotiates shrewdly
Let's not forget that !!!
Dont hate the player 🤷♂️
Yeah, the money is in the purchase. Most of us would lose our pants trying stunts like these.
At the end when Ed goes "I suppose I'll just have to... :) live with that" This man is made of 100% pure charisma, that smug ass smile, Jesus brother you should teach a class on how to be so chill
Ed does have on his channel a good video on how to tell a good story in case you missed out on that.
I don't care how Ed affords anything I'm. Just here for the stories
They are pretty great. Wonder if he’d be interested in me telling the story of my first car 😂
Step one build credit Step two keep building credit Step three buy the cars that will be worth more money in 1-3 years Step four be humble Ed has completed the steps flawlessly
Baller on a Budget! not fake it till ya make it.... :D
Your forehead is longer than Ed’s list of cars
RaininPayne2 hahaah it indeed is
I watched the entire ed interview series last weekend. Super cool channel. Keep up the great work guys.
VINwiki does it again!!! Excellent piece of content. If there is one great advice I take from the stories/advice that Ed gives... Is that to move ahead in life, you have to be willing to take risks. The key is to have as much information, contacts and a do attitude to mitigate some of the negative effects. Thanks VinWiki... Through some of these stories, I feel grateful for the "for free" mentor ship I continue to inherent to make smart decisions on my life. BTW my wife now thinks, I have a man crush on ED... Id say she is not incorrect. Lol
Declares that parents didn’t help out financially, proceeds to casually mention how parents got him an Audi s4 during college years. It’s funny when wealthy people don’t know that they are wealthy 😂👍🏻
Haha same thing occured to me. He is a good bloke and clearly works hard but i dont think he knows how good he has it
@@hamiltonau Apologies for that and totally valid criticism. My family is awesome and I would rather have the values they instilled in me along with a couple amazing cars than any steady stream of cash/supercars.

I love how Ed has barely had more cars than I did, since 2003, but somehow his cheapest one of the past 5 years is probably worth more than all of mine combined.
I could literally listen to you all day Ed. What an honest humble human being. Fantastic stories and well executed. Keep them coming.
Dude, some of those profit margins are absolutely insane. Hats off to you, Ed. I'd love to see a video about the general repair items that go into how these cars are brought back up to that high-profit repaired state. It has to be more than just buying low and selling high.
Ed your craft of speech is impeccable, i dont think a single subscriber would be dissatisfied if you posted an hour long video
Love it! Thanks for sharing the details, I've always wondered! Ed, you are a true inspiration!
I have to show this video to my wife. I have owned over 50 cars since I stated driving 22 years ago and when I was younger I lost a lot of money not making it a point to find great deals and then selling them as soon as I found something else I wanted. As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more shrewd and I only buy cars that I think I will at least break even on. Im a stay at home dad now so I flip a few cars here and there but mostly sub $20k stuff because I’m paying cash and don’t want to tie up a bunch of money. I keep trying to convince my wife to let me get into higher end stuff but she is leery, so I told her I’ll just finance them so as not to tie up funds...she isn’t exactly on board so perhaps Ed’s convincing words will sway her in the right direction.
loved the dave ramsey reference lol
Fuck Dave Ramsey
Wheelin' & Dealin'! Fun to watch, and even more fun to hear the stories told after all the dust has settled. Go Ed!
Informative, useful and entertaining as always thanks Ed
Love that you are open about this Ed, we find this interesting but realize it’s still a big gamble.
“Damon and Dave from Daily Driven Exotics” if that ain’t alliteration...
Great video Ed! Thanks for the information and the transparency. Keep it up!
You have done very well! I also buy cars I enjoy and have potential to go up in value. 993 C4S, 94 Supra TT, 300ZX NA, Acura Integra Type R. I have made money, broken even and lost on some. Worst case you get to enjoy your time driving a sports car. Appreciate your honesty on this video and looking forward to the DDE stories.
Ed, another great story...that question was in the back of my mind...I'm not mad at ya, keep on doing what ya do, and enjoy life!!
Ed is so awesome, i love the videos. cant wait to see what you guys did with DDE
I love how you talk real numbers! I get its a touchy subject but it really helps put things into perspective
Yay Ed another video with you hosting it, AWESOME, you just made my day, great surprise after spending 4 hours plowing and snow blowing ice and snow this morning ;)
I’ve watched Ed’s interviews so many times that my own conversations have started to take on a similar rhythm. Thanks? Haha Awesome content, here, I love VINWiki, despite not having the time to use the app yet.
Ed “I don’t have any money” Bolian
Ed, you and Rabbit still make your stories sound the most interesting. In fact the other guys should tell you their stories and you should retell them!
Good work at stacking cars Ed! Yep My goal has been try to buy something you know you can improve upon and it’s not always what you can sell it for but the purchase price that’s key!
Weren't you at 20k a while ago? Damn, you've grown! Love the videos, keep it up!
Ed and I definitely relate!
Casey Putsch “playing in a bigger league than you’re entitled to” seems to be the direction a lot of the vinwiki community goes. I know it’s certainly true for me.

Not 2 many guys in the car business r as totally honest as Ed n his stories... Keep it up pz!
I can't wait to see the videos with Dave & Damon. I met them last year when they stopped in Columbus, Ohio while on the Ace Spade Rally & they were both top shelf, typically mega friendly Canadians. Dave is super funny & has a sarcastic sense of humor, like me :-)
I worked for years at a real estate company that was run similarly to how Ed’s run his car flipping business. It’s risky but can be extremely profitable. And, best of all, it’s a ton of fun to plan and put together deals.
I've flipped a few cars in my driving career I rarely get back the money I've put into them by the insurance company
Love the vids! Keep it up
Amazing video on my daughters birthday Ed! Thanks!!
Ed is the man. His deliver and word craft is exceptional.
This is amazing advice ive always had a love for buying and selling and fixing up cars im slowly trying to get into a position to be able to afford better cars to fix up and sell
Same page man. Buy and sell what you know and love. Had a b5 followed by a Gallardo as well. So stoked more people are making videos like this. Many more enthusiasts could be living the Dream. Cheers!
Ed, your intellect is astounding, easy to see your a smart man, and spend your money well. I wish I had your gifts. I'm an entrepreneur myself, have not yet had the success youv had. I do own a few cool cars and I'm not broke, but things could be alot better.
Gr8 story !!! Ed is a real guy !!! Education is also key. Went to college on grants !!! Well done Ed, I'm starting to love these cars just cause of these stories and of course the art put into these automobiles. God Bless ❤
Very honest and informative. Thank you.
Last time I was this early, Mr. T was still alive and offering 10K for his truck.
WoW Ed is Super car and Credit genius. Keeping the miles down and buying smart and that keeps the car value for the most part.
Very interesting thanks for the insight Ed.
"Wow, that's a once in a lifetime flip!" not for this guy. Wow.
I'm more excited talking about my $3k profit flips than ed is talking about his 100k flip lol.
Who else wants a stick lp640 from looking at Ed's beautiful pictures. Interior has to be the nicest interior on any car.
EKM I’m to a point where it doesn’t even have to be a 640. I believe Somewhere on the east coast is a red with tan leather Murci with manual. I hope I can eventually find the money for it and track it down.
Watched well over 24 videos under 24 hours. I might have a new addiction now. These dudes stories are really something.
I love all of you guys and this channel
Not only are Eds stories the best but he's honest too!
Great story as always!!!
Man awsome video!
Ed fitting so well with DDE!
Off to figure out how to have good credit!
@vinwiki i swear i knew i saw the grey murcielago in Lebanon, i swear!!!! i think i even know the people who owned it in Canada and brought it to Lebanon for a short vacationb but had to stay in Lebanona bit more then expected, they ended up selling the murci without title swap or legal paper work to a Canadian lebanese dude, the dude later washed its title with a wrecked UAE Murcielago that got totaled in Lebanon, after washing its title he shipped it back to the US or Canada. I hope thats the same Murci, because every 1 in the car scene in Lebanon knows about that Lambo.

Great video, ed!
I could listen to Ed take all day everyday.
Flipping cars for a profit can be tricky unless you are good (Ed is good). You do add a lot of "risk" when borrowing to purchase but it works out well for some (Ed is good at doing that). I have been able to buy some nice used (about 10 years old) cars that I then enjoyed and eventually sold for what I purchased the cars for (made money on 1 or 2 and lost money on 2 or 3). Ed - good video. You have been very fortunate and also good at what you do. Most of us could not pull off what you (or Rabbit) can do.
I’m thinking I have to replace my daily soon… I’d love to “drive for free” for a year… I’ll have to give it a shot
You have to have a daily driver that isn't for sale to flip successfully. Or, you have to have enough cars to avoid the position of having to buy something quick. If you sell a car and have to be in another one right away, you can't wait for the good deals. It's hard to turn a profit if you can't wait it out and find cars with good profit potential. You also have to buy on the flipping potential, not necessarily what you like. If you live in a rural town & pickup trucks are hot, you don't want to buy that BMW that's below book. It's probably below book because there isn't much demand in that town. It's not rocket science. Ed does have a personality that people like, and that does help, but he also buys and sells based on potential.
@@shananagans5 Excellent advice - I agree 100%. The "about 10 years old" cars I was thinking about were not daily drivers. I usually have a daily driver that is a year or two old that I buy under some certified used program (CPO etc). These cars do depreciate in value. In my case, I do not buy cars to flip however even if one of my cars is not for sale there is almost always some about of money that could buy the car (ie, "an offer I can't refuse").
@@idrivearttabletennis I did occasional flips when I was in college, 2 or 3 a year. My mother lived in a retirement community and I found good deals when some older people quit driving. They couldn't pass their eye test etc. They often bought nice new cars, they were retired so they didn't drive much. Then, after a few years, they quit driving for whatever reason. I would go in & get a really good deal on a 4,5,or 6 yo car with 12,15, maybe 20,000 miles. I told them I was buying with the intent of reselling for a profit & they were fine with that. A dealer won't give them much of anything if they aren't buying something else and they didn't want to mess with it. It was a good source of extra money for a student. Three or four grand two or three times a year was a big help in school. Only problem is they were all "grandma cars" Not exciting at all but young families were eager to buy. Mom still lives there and there is one more car I want. Mom's friend has a beautiful Crown Vic with a tow package. That gets you everything a police car has as far as the big sway bars, big brakes, trans cooler etc. It's got 8,000 miles on it. It's basically a police car with a nice interior. Mom's friend is going to keep it until she can't drive any longer. I just hope she doesn't crash it.
@@shananagans5 Yep. I've seen deals from retirement centers also. I did not buy them but helped others get them (long story). Some of these cars I wish I had bought.

Ed is the poster boy for "Ideal Christian". He's living his best life, and has unending charm, intelligence and wit. I say this as a hard-core atheist.
Some exotics that depreciate heavily are actually cheaper to lease than purchase from new such as the new Aston Martin Vantage.
