SOOOO I talked to someone who is professional at mixing vocals. He told me it sounds like live pre-recorded vocals in a studio and than lip synced on set to those live pre record. So basicly the same thing that I said, I just thought they may took the audio from the mics on set and mixed that with the pre record :D
Even if that someone is correct , what you saw is SK's version of a music show live performance. YG delivered what you would see if BM performed in a SK music show, as requested by the fans. I think they sang live with a backtrack sound. Most groups lip sync. Not justifying, it is what it is. If you want pure live performance with a band, you have to watch their concert (hopefully soon). You are disappointed because your expectations are way off the roof this time.

Of course they sing live. There are two sounds, namely the backtrack sound and the vocal sounds of the members singing live. The members' original voices are above the backtrack and the volume of their live voices sounds greater. Their mic is on, that's the point. If you are kpop fans, you will know this video is like a music show on Inkigayo or Music Bank. The video had been pre-recorded but when the video was taken all the members sang live even though there were back vocals too. If you are looking forward to a real live performance then just look forward to their concerts or when they perform at award shows like MAMA, AAA, GDA, or MMA. ** this is a live performance but not real time. but all the members actually sing, not lip sync.
Yes , almost all idols do that when singing live on stage , there are even some agencies that don't allow their idols to sing live , the idol will lipsync from the beginning to the end of the song , there is nothing disappointing about babymonster's performance , they sing live so well, their energy and voices are so beautiful.

Yes, it is 'live', but it was certainly recorded many times, and then in post production nicely edited. Anyone familiar with K-pop knows that this is normal for them. If you think otherwise, it means you must believe in Santa Claus. This 'double track' is a fact. But 'double track' was recorded many, many times and they chose the best version (after all, they won't do otherwise ;) ) and still in post production they could improve something.

I'm not sure about the others but I'm confident that Ruka is 100% rapping live. Her raw voice can be heard clearly, and it's different from the MV. I even zoomed the video and her mouth, dance and rap truly matches.

Or it's like he said; playback of their live vocals. You can also see how Rukas mic is sometimes well below her chin due to head movements but that doesn't affect the volume of her voice which it should. This is a very common thing in kpop especially with 4th gen idol groups. This is a problem to blame the companies for, not the idols.

Asa and Chiquita sound exactly like the record one (They ate CD that’s why🥲), it’s understandable if you think they are lip syncing. But Ruka, Haram, Rora, and Pharita sound really different from og track for example the difference weight in some words it’s so clear that they are singing lives.

I personally don't think so. Although Asa's voice doesn't sound as Rae as Ruka's but that's just how her voice is no? Like.... we have already seen in their pre debut days. But regardless of that, you can still hear Asa improvising at some points. Also in the 'volume up light em up' part, you can clearly hear her take a breath and singing in a slightly modified tune than the actual tune (note it- modified tune as in changed tune which blends in well with the actual tune; not completely out of tune). For ex- in the beginning of her rap, the actual song has precise Korean accent but here her voice sounds a bit more high pitched and kinda Hyunsuk-coded as im having a stylistic, stretchy and 'western-y' accent approach.

Why do you dare to raise yourself as the norm? The song is only 3 minutes long. Divide the singing part among 6 people. Each of them didn't sing a lot. I think this is just your first time watching a kpop idol singing live. If you watch more of inkigayo or music bank contents, you’ll see that they always do the mixing of live vocals and having the MR while singing. Even Blackpink and other Kpop groups do that when they are performing live. Mixing of live vocals while having the MR is common in kpop live shows, since many idols have difficulty singing while dancing to intense choreography.
idk but its clearly live, you can hear it if you really pay attention to it or watch it more times. like of course there is a back track but its really hard without it when they are dancing this much so i dont see the problem with that.

They forget that BM is a rookie group. When I watched this video I was shocked by their live voice like indeed they got best live vocals n rap like I can clearly hear their all raw vocals except the outro. 90% they sang live I have no idea what u r saying I think its because they’re are too good n u just can’t believe it. Am i the only one who did hear their live voice/vocals? Haram and Pharita is so obvious also the rappers. Same with chiquita and rora, the problem was the backtrack is louder in their parts. But if you focus and did not just watched it once you will eventually gonna realize it. There is a difference in the weight of the words and sound when they sing on their parts and when not. If you are doubting then make your own mr remove of their performance. Anyways i know they can serve and slay if they did it in an actual live performance (like awards shows/festival/concert).

I listen to the clean ver of their live performance. They all sang their parts well and all of them are very stable compare to other rookie groups. Maybe that's the reason why you cant hear them and thinks its not live. Their vocals are live.

Bruuhh... I MISSED THE TIMES WHEN YG ARTISTS doesn't conform to the strict dancing. That's the reason why I love YG so much! The adlibs and live singing is on another level, especially the one who is singing their part, its not a strict choreo. Just like BIGBANG, 2NE1, WINNER, IKON. That's why I'm disappointed on LIVE performances for Blackpink, Treasure and now Baemon. At least the 3 rappers of Treasure does the typical YG adlib antics sometimes.

I’ve watched vocal coaches state moving while singing is extremely, extremely hard. While some are better than others it seems most artists have prerecorded or backtrack vocals playing while dancing or doing any sort of movements. Unless you just want them to stand there, this is what you’re going to get. I don’t mind it, personally I’ve spent many a nights trying to sing Michael Jackson and dancing and you can barely get a sound out after like 10 seconds lol.

For any part that everyone's voices put together like that, in this case outro, it's 100% normal to not sing live or sing quietly to not make it sound bad. Every group do it like that. For chorus, groups often sing softer than normal or not sing at all to focus on dance to increase overall performance quality. They just put on loud backtrack for this performance, so it didn't sound that raw, which fits the song. They sang live but chose where to sing loudly or quietly. For example, for Chiquita first part, it should not be sang louder than the backtrack or it will sound off. Also with that dance move, her voice is sure to be shaky no matter what, so they might not let her sing at all. For part like Rami's or Pharita's first part, it fits to sing strongly. So, the girls sang loudly and confidently. Those two have always been stable in their singing. When we say a group sings live, it doesn't mean they sang 100% of the song or 100% volume the whole song. It's absolutely normal for groups with energetic choreo.

It is not that "they didn't let them sing live", because they are clearly singing. It's the editing that made it this way. Plus, this is live performance, which you might not be accepting because you are thinking about "live singing". What I mean is, this is what they deem as live performance. Or do you want them to not use the performance they work hard to prepare just because you want them to hold mic and minimize dancing?

LOL why pre recording mixed with live vocals is became a BIG DEAL now? Most 4th gen GGs out there literally lip synced and it's OK cause dancing while singing is hard but BabyMonster really sing live in this one
The way I hear it... Rora, Rami, Ruka and Asa sang 100% live. Pharita like 90% live and Chiquita like... 60-70%? and yes, the dance break was totally playback, but that's normal cause it's a dance break, they're supposed to dance, not sing. However, I do agree with you that getting a 100% live performance would be nice. But for that to happen, they have to compromise dancing. Can't jump like that and sound perfect.
