Wow, McKenna! The way you looked, your arm movements, the whole production, so in line with the idea of the song. I was mesmerized! ❤❤❤❤
The sound of her voice is so unique. I could listen to her sing anything. Also, artist who can really sing don't need all the extras; they can just do what they do and our mouths drop 😮 (ex. Luther, Mariah, James Taylor, Whitney, Streisand, etc..) Would luv to hear her original music. She's good enough to be her authentic self. Would listen to her sing all day.

Sometimes it's the song. Sometimes it's the singer. For me, I love McKenna's voice and could listen to it all day. The kind of music she sings, it's what I like. I'm also thrilled for her finding her family. I had a similar experience. I wondered the same things growing up. I feel her in her music. Don't stop pursuing a singing career. We the fans want you!

Mckenna has never even come CLOSE to performance as good as Emmy did last week. Emmy had one of the best performances of the season. Mckenna doesn't have standout performance like that

McKenna's voice is so utterly sultry and beautiful and unique. It's why I love it. What she lacks in stage presence, she delivers in her voice. I much prefer a beautiful voice to flashy shows with autotune. All these singers are so good. There may only be one winner, but I feel like we will gain many artists in the near future.
I am not a fan of Emmy Russell, but to each his own.....just not into her way of singing.

I hate when they make the contestants when they say get out of your comfort zone or dance when you're not a dancer because it doesn't fit that particular performer Most of the time..... Who would tell Willie Nelson to get up there and dance while he's singing..... She is more of a crooner than she is a pop star..... They need to let people be who they are that is their authentic self and that is their brand..... I love her voice I just don't feel that She can pull off those pop star kind of performances only because she's not a Britney Spears type of artist she's more like a Jewel❤
🙌 YES!! Some of the advice from the judges is not the best. Getting out of their comfort zone more often than not they do worse with the fans. Because who tells them to 1- be who they are, be true to yourself, AND 2-be somebody else totally! They are just saying they aren’t the biggest fans of them.
I love McKenna, amazing job but i think she missed an opportunity to really give it a memorable wow ending, i think the ending was a bit flat not flat as in tone flat, but flat on the excitement level).

This was pretty great honestly! Not as good as majority of her performances though. I wouldn't have chosen this song for her either. I'd much prefer her at the piano. She has a wonderful raspy and scratchy voice that I love. She reminds me of Joni and Stevie.
I love her but she should have done a Bonnie Tyler to really highlight her beautiful voice

As Simon Cowell once said, AI is a popularity contest. McKenna IS my favorite from several seasons. Abi does have an amazing voice but to me, she is not unique…. I hope they all have successful careers doing what they love. And Emmy has grown so much. Good for her

Although I AM NOT a fan of Katy Perry's music,I thought that McKenna made a wimpy song almost a powerful song!!!!???? Towards the end of the song,I actually heard pretty heavy guitar!?!? That's not the type of song that MISS POP, would ever do!!!! That was a majestic performance!!!! McKenna deserves to WIN AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

It's getting tough! All of the top 7 have strong reasons to be voted for. For me, I like Emmy more than McKenna. They both still need some voice work and development of stage presence. Same with Abi and Tristan. Will Moseley is pretty solid though, and so is Jack Blocker. Emmy needs to really up her game next episode, and if she does, she could win IMO.

Katy is loud, straight-tone, nasal belting. McKenna is none of those things, so why choose a Katy song that people are very sonically familiar with AND isn't designed for a voice like hers? Something like "Missing" by Everything But The Girl would've been perfect for her.

I'm kinda shocked this girl was eliminated, considering the country girl is terrible and two of the guys are totally mediocre. It's actually SO MUCH easier for the guys, right? They just have to sing a country song and be kinda cute and the go all the way. The fact we had a Top 8 with 3 guys and the are still in the top 5 even though they are very bland is SO weird. This performance was very interesting, kinda different. How on earth people voted her off?

Agreed. There isn’t a song that the judges will criticize. I mean I think Will for instance is great, but his rendition of Gimme Three Steps was so karaoke, it wasn’t even funny
