As a former Tesla Trooper for the glorious Soviet Union, I can tell you that combat revolves around effective power management of one's Tesla pack. The layman may assume that undervolting one's pack would result in a deterioration of performance, but it allows longer and more frequent discharges on the target. The pack can be a bit fussy at times, but with experience you learn how long to sustain a discharge and when to back off. Being aware of one's surroundings is also key. Once I delivered an arc to a Grizzly without realizing that my left foot was submerged in a 2 cm puddle. Nearly cooked myself as a result.

Yeah, Tesla troopers and tanks got a serious upgrade when elite. It's something I liked a lot in RA2, how much different units become at elite status. Mental Omega got rid of that, which while understandable, is disappointing

@@user-ig9dr8bm1l in RA2 and above, if you get a spy into production facilities, you gain veteran or elite (don't remember which is which) status for all units produced of that type in the future. You can also gain access to unique units if you're lucky (in RA2). Basically, it's a quick trick to make your units massively more powerful and is why you see dogs being mass-produced by the professional players. it's also a reason some players build walls

Note that in actual pro gameplay, the faster or longer ranged vehicles can just "kite" the slower, shorter ranged tesla infantry. Tesla infantry however is not crushable by heavy vehicles, so no forced move tactic for this one except for certain tank(s).

Tesla Tooper is one of the best unit/infantry in the game. He is anti-infantry and anti-vehicle at the same time, got very powerful when at the highest level.

Unfortunately no infantry can stand up to anti-infantry unless they have significantly greater numbers. Shit one SEAL will take down a group alone unless it's virus or sniper. Maybe a desolator if they're deployed and far enough away.

Yes, at his basic level, he is already too OP to all other infantries, except for maybe the Desolator (which I assume was created to be the counterbalance of the Seal of the Soviet). You need to play the "Mental Omega: Almost Perfect Yuri's Revenge", a fan-made game. These guys re-designed the game in the most clever ways! Seal still has the same firing rate, but it now takes 3 shots to kill an infantry, making him a possible target to take down for any other infantry units, hence more acceptable. Conscripts now are truly an anti-infantry infantry (they no longer deal high damage to tanks and buildings as they used to), while Flak Troopers are anti-vehicle/building infantry, just like G.I. and Guardian G.I.

Tesla Trooper is good at early game. They are nice to block rush wave of main battle tanks. But after that, They will probably spends most of his time charging Tesla tower. They will be more efficient with support of armored vehicle.

Well we played a 3 player game we go at each other, and i opt in using soviet infantry after stocking up 10x2 tesla troopers (with cloning vats) 30x2 conscripts 8x2 attack dogs 15x2 flak troopers 3x2 engineers i wreck both opponents bases, including 2 Tanya's they put on my way, they fought valiantly but perished without the need of reinforcements.

well, in real logic, the 'tesla' stuff wouldn't work at all because it would just arc to the ground nearby. If it was actually used as a weapon, it would probably fire a zip-line like some of the modern tasers, attack the coil to the target, and then discharge.

It still weird to me that tesla trooper can be damaged (electrocuted) by same electric atk. I assume he wear safety suit for that purpose, weird. At least even there is dmg, it should be minimal, yet he can be one shot by same tesla as well 😅 Sama happen with tesla coil, when enemy atk with same tesla, it should be charging instead of damaging right? Yet... 😅😅

@@raoh2444 Nah, flak truck is far more useful: 1)It is the fastest transport in the game 2)the best at killing masses of infantry ( due to flak's AOE attack) compared to IFV and Gatling tank. 3) can wipe out mass aircrafts attack faster than both IFV (even elite IFV) and Gatling tanks It is only weak when dealing with building and other land vehicles.

This is inaccurate. Using your own troops against each other undermines their damage since their source code applies different percentage caps between enemies and allies.

Tesla Troopers were never anti-armor. What Tesla Troopers are - would really be "brawlers". They "appear" to kill tanks because they cannot be crushed and tank shells deal little damage to infantry. But their DPS is shit - they only kill tanks by surviving long enough to dish out their shitty DPS. Tesla Troopers DO NOT mow down vehicles like SEALs mow down infantry and their anti-armor performance is nowhere near Tank Destroyer or GGI. I tell you this - even an elite Tesla Trooper's bolt deals only a third damage of an unpromoted Tank Destroyer (50x1.1=55 vs 150) with less range. And get this - even an Attack Dog can tank 1 hit from a Tesla Trooper. With the suit protection, Tesla Troopers still get torn apart by dogs. Injustice? But then again several infantry are costume freaks with little practical value. More of these underpowered infantry should be buffed to allow them to shine. If I were to mod Tesla Troopers, I'd either go the brawler route (survive long to deal out piss poor DPS) or the glass cannon route (same piss poor short lifecycle but short ranged powerful jab). Or a mix of between. Just something else to leave here - supercharging a Tesla Coil adds +100 damage while it takes 2 Tesla Troopers to restore 200 damage to a blacked out Coil - this tells you the true power of the Tesla Trooper was always meant to be 100 and not 50. They had always been short-changed.

Well, the infantry in red alert 2 suck. The anti tank infantry do not trade good in fights vs vehicles. Nobody will choose infantry attack couze they are slow can be crush by vehicless not the anti tank infantry of course, and range of most cases is lower than vehicles so vehicles can just avoid them or kitting.

Honestly, Tesla Trooper's problems are that the one thing they are supposed to counter will absolutely annihilate them when they are elites. And it's far much easier to get tanks to elite status than TTs. I really hate the Elites in RA2, they are way too overpowered sometimes, and tends to turn normal, balanced unit into anti-everything unit. Elite IFVs meme on tanks. Elite Tanks memes on infantry. Meanwhile some units barely get improved like Conscripts or in some cases, even worse, like Flaks.

Yes, at his basic level, he is already too OP to all other infantries, except for maybe the Desolator (which I assume was created to be the counterbalance of the Seal of the Soviet). You need to play the "Mental Omega: Almost Perfect Yuri's Revenge", a fan-made game. These guys re-designed the game in the most clever ways! Seal still has the same firing rate, but it now takes 3 shots to kill an infantry, making him a possible target to take down for any other infantry units, hence more acceptable. Conscripts now are truly an anti-infantry infantry (they no longer deal high damage to tanks and buildings as they used to), while Flak Troopers are anti-vehicle/building infantry, just like G.I. and Guardian G.I.

Tesla Trooper is good at early game. They are nice to block rush wave of main battle tanks. But after that, They will probably spends most of his time charging Tesla tower. They will be more efficient with support of armored vehicle.

Well we played a 3 player game we go at each other, and i opt in using soviet infantry after stocking up 10x2 tesla troopers (with cloning vats) 30x2 conscripts 8x2 attack dogs 15x2 flak troopers 3x2 engineers i wreck both opponents bases, including 2 Tanya's they put on my way, they fought valiantly but perished without the need of reinforcements.

two things: - How the hell can a battle fortress stump on 50 apocalypse and yet cant on one tesla trooper? - If tesla trooper is all power and generators how does he get electrified by the tesla tank? since I am guessing he is already insulating his entire body otherwise he electrifies the shit out of himself
well, in real logic, the 'tesla' stuff wouldn't work at all because it would just arc to the ground nearby. If it was actually used as a weapon, it would probably fire a zip-line like some of the modern tasers, attack the coil to the target, and then discharge.
what about same cost battle? should be easy to set up and gives the "value" better

It still weird to me that tesla trooper can be damaged (electrocuted) by same electric atk. I assume he wear safety suit for that purpose, weird. At least even there is dmg, it should be minimal, yet he can be one shot by same tesla as well 😅 Sama happen with tesla coil, when enemy atk with same tesla, it should be charging instead of damaging right? Yet... 😅😅

Tesla Troopers are far too weak for what they cost. They lack attack speed, range, damage and armor and all that for 600 credits. Just because they are uncrushable?

This is inaccurate. Using your own troops against each other undermines their damage since their source code applies different percentage caps between enemies and allies.
Tesla Troopers were never anti-armor. What Tesla Troopers are - would really be "brawlers". They "appear" to kill tanks because they cannot be crushed and tank shells deal little damage to infantry. But their DPS is shit - they only kill tanks by surviving long enough to dish out their shitty DPS. Tesla Troopers DO NOT mow down vehicles like SEALs mow down infantry and their anti-armor performance is nowhere near Tank Destroyer or GGI. I tell you this - even an elite Tesla Trooper's bolt deals only a third damage of an unpromoted Tank Destroyer (50x1.1=55 vs 150) with less range. And get this - even an Attack Dog can tank 1 hit from a Tesla Trooper. With the suit protection, Tesla Troopers still get torn apart by dogs. Injustice? But then again several infantry are costume freaks with little practical value. More of these underpowered infantry should be buffed to allow them to shine. If I were to mod Tesla Troopers, I'd either go the brawler route (survive long to deal out piss poor DPS) or the glass cannon route (same piss poor short lifecycle but short ranged powerful jab). Or a mix of between. Just something else to leave here - supercharging a Tesla Coil adds +100 damage while it takes 2 Tesla Troopers to restore 200 damage to a blacked out Coil - this tells you the true power of the Tesla Trooper was always meant to be 100 and not 50. They had always been short-changed.

Well, the infantry in red alert 2 suck. The anti tank infantry do not trade good in fights vs vehicles. Nobody will choose infantry attack couze they are slow can be crush by vehicless not the anti tank infantry of course, and range of most cases is lower than vehicles so vehicles can just avoid them or kitting.

Elite Tesla Troopers are pretty good, but if the other units are just more expensive and have better stats because of it... yeah, they won't be having a lot of success one-on-one.
Among the tanks in this test, TD is the most useless.
Honestly, Tesla Trooper's problems are that the one thing they are supposed to counter will absolutely annihilate them when they are elites. And it's far much easier to get tanks to elite status than TTs. I really hate the Elites in RA2, they are way too overpowered sometimes, and tends to turn normal, balanced unit into anti-everything unit. Elite IFVs meme on tanks. Elite Tanks memes on infantry. Meanwhile some units barely get improved like Conscripts or in some cases, even worse, like Flaks.
