There’s a moment when aang loses appa in the desert and he goes into the avatar state after finding out he was muzzled and katara holds his hand and calms him down while he cries and it’s a really sad and emotional scene

They are something truly special. The way Katara and Aang look at each other with love and adoration is so endearing. They bring so much happiness to each other. Their love got them through so much and they hit all the notes. Their story and moments are so beautiful whether they are performing an incredible dance together, saving each other, or kissing.

they develop well as characters and as a cute couple katara wldn't stop talking about aang after he passed away in the legend of korra which proves how much she still loves him. that's true love and true dedication which personally I like how it ended with them instead althought the comic explains more how much of a healthy couple they became.

My fav moments are 1. The Ember island play Aang was so upset about the whole Katara-Zuko thing he said he would be in avatar state right now if his 7th chakra wasn't blocked 😂 2. And the fortuneteller episode where he dance like a goofball when he hears aunt Wu telling Katara that she will marry a powerful bender one day and Katara realising at the end of the episode that Aang could be that powerful bender ❤️ 3. In Crossroads of destiny Aang giving up Avatar state to save Katara and Aang letting go of Katara save Katara

One thing people forget is that it's animated, so the faces were on purpose, so katara actually had a crush on aang near the beginning but the show made the beginning so it looked like aang liked her then later made katara like him more tho in reality they had a crush on each other through the whole show
Whenever I get discouraged about the modern state of film and television, where there’s this concerted effort to push edgy “anti-romance” storylines, I always come back to Avatar, a show that is unapologetic in its romances. Yes, the hero and the girl get together. Eat your hearts out, edgelords. This is what real love looks like.
