  • I had preeclampsia & ended up having an emergency c section at 28 weeks. I am thankful my baby is alive and healthy and I am too. She’s 9 yrs old now. It was a very surreal experience but so glad everything is fine.

  • I appreciate the information, and didn't realize it could still effect the mother after delivery. I'm currently in the hospital for this condition and have been here for two weeks, and hopefully have another 3 weeks to go until I reach 37 weeks.... then they will induce labor.

    • So sorry to hear that! Hope that you are able to get as close to 37 weeks as possible. It sounds like you are in good hands that are watching you closely. Let us know how you are doing and when you deliver!

    • We can imagine how frustrating that is! Did she suffer from high blood pressure during her pregnancy? Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy do increase a woman's chance of having a stroke, especially if her doctors have difficulty getting her blood pressure under control in the postpartum period. How is she doing now? Don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@preeclampsia.org with any questions you might have.

  • I understand you're just trying to help and all, but this video is very alarmist, as a lot of those symptoms, if not almost all, are pretty common, especially later in pregnancy. It is dx'd by high blood pressure + one other symptom. Swelling is no longer considered a sign of pre-e since it is very common.

    • I wish that I had seen this vid during my pregnancy - I lost my baby to preeclampsia, and no - you can never be too careful. If I had known just how dangerous it was, I would have been a lot more vigilant and my baby might have survived - so let it scare the hell out of women, its better to be a sure

      @jozigirl7114@jozigirl71149 жыл бұрын
    • @JoziGirl, we are so sorry for your loss. It's something no family should have to experience. Owner Jazzy: Swelling is still considered a symptom of preeclampsia, but specifically in the hands and face, as the video mentions. Swelling the feet is extremely common in the latter part of pregnancy, and therefore is not necessarily a symptom that indicates high blood pressure. That being said, pregnant women should pay careful to symptoms in the latter half of pregnancy and talk with their health care provider should something be concerning them.
