I love how shin and noi's special combo attack is that shin just rushes the enemy recklessly while noi actively heals him. They basically out dps the enemy.

I'm just glad I never heard anyone ever say the cg in Dorohedoro was bad. This was adapted from the manga so fucken well, and using cgi gave them even more opportunities to have creative expressions.

Because it was dynamic, detailed and within appropriately picked shots. The hand drawings and model quality blended well enough that at times the transition between the two is unnoticeable. They had a really great director and a very dedicated team for model quality and animation.

Guess its the best they can do with cgi, the problem with dorohedoro is that its almost unadaptable in terms of visual artstyle. The art of Hayashida Q that looks like blots in school textbook is magnificent and perfect to highlight the grotesqueness and dirtiness of the Hole-world, monumental ghetto/favela like buildings, and in imo gives extra credit for gore moments in form of the mix of blood and dirt. As i expected, there were not enough "dirt" in anime (Dorohedoro literally means "Dirty dirt" after all) and the gore was too merciful. I think that the best option for dorohedoro is the animation in form of black&white "blots and inks that came alive" but it would require too high budget and workforce then(

@@user-se1ro4sy4z Dorohedoro (or ドロヘドロ) essentially translates to "Mud Sludge" and is intentially unclear. It is later referenced in the manga as being the essence of the Hole: Mud and Sludge, as a character damn nearly title drops it while talking about how he fell in the lake. It does not or even can translate as Dirty Dirt.

@@NewNecro i know its a week later but you are absolutely correct, they actually made sure the characters and the cg used fit together. there will always be weirdness with cg anime compared to 2d as anyone with eyes can see the difference however its done well and tastefully here where it counts (usually, the last scene of this video shows why it can come off weird with mr bird man being a little to... fake? he just doesnt fit the scene all that well) this is studio Mappa... and this is what they can do with cg anime. however this same studio seems to have lost all ability to animate cg when it comes to AoT... it just confuses the fuck outta me how they went from a good looking anime like this and jujustu kaiden to AoT. that being said even AoT isnt their worst anime i have seen, for i watched fully the sacred beasts anime (i dont member full name so i am sorry might have been attack of the sacred beasts or some shit but i digress) that anime was a joke from start to finish in terms of animation quality...

It's still a competing industry with constraints of deadlines, new employees and different work experiences. It holds true for most animation studios to have ace teams making high quality episodes/scenes and trainees or freelance teams lacking the usual quality.

Dorohedoro's violence is shocking at first, but after awhile it becomes almost comedic in how casual it becomes. Like Shin gets disemboweled and then casually takes Noi to see a decurser with his intestines still hanging out like it was a regular occurence.

@@olviotic Since this is animated by studio MAPPA, it might take a bit since MAPPA is working on Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan: Final Season. Maybe once these are finished, Dorohedoro season 2 can start being developed. Unless studio MAPPA has been working on Dorohedoro this whole time but it’s just taking a while. Either way, I’m sure season 2 will come out sooner or later.

I know that En and his group are supposed to be the “bad guys” but they ended up being my favorites. I love how they take care of each other and they have a code that they pretty much abide by. Get by on your own strength, take care of your comrades, loyalty above everything. It’s awesome.

The thing I love the most about this show is that there's no sex jokes/ harrasment and other extremely degenerate things any other story with lots of violence. I don't count showing Noi's naked body because it haven't felt like fanservice or any characters showed "that" reaction toward my gurl. Even Ebisu is portrayed as a naive beyond stupid youth with a severe head trauma who has a heavy role within the script and not as a sidecharacter created purely for sex jokes. Idk how to explain my thoughts, I just want to say that dorohe is the greatest story with lots of gore, amaizing worldbilding and a heavy storyline. And no fcking harrasment jokes. Zero!!! Do you hear me?? ZERO rape attempts in the story. ZERO!! Hayashida Q is amazing! And everyone who participated in creation of this anime is amazing too. P.S. Does anyone know an 18+ manga without sex? Please, please recommend me something like this...

What are you talking about? There are plenty of sex jokes. You must have completely forgot about every other scene with Ebisu. And just because you "don't count" the scenes with Noi doesn't mean anything. Plenty of people still count that. You're trying your hardest to make this into something you approve of by creating these false standards the series isn't going to live up to. As far as 18+ manga without sex? I am assuming you mean like the explicit act of intercourse and not just sexual themes - You might want to stick with shonen-level manga unless you're into space operas or strict military-based manga, pure horror, and even those manage to toss in the occasional sex scene or 'rape' scenario. Stick to shonen-level action or comfy slice-of-life mangas about absolutely nothing, i guess.

It's a show for grown ups, not for pubescent 16 year olds, which is where the anime industry sadly makes it's money. That's also why mature stories like this one rarely get an adaptation and even more rarely a second season. There are some sexually explicit scenes, but they are handled like a normal adult would handle them. Aka. not the "oh no you've seen me naked, now I'll never be able to marry“ treatment.

Oh yeah I forgot. Finding an 18+ show without sex scenes is difficult. I do however know a bunch of Mangas/shows that are 18+ and really good. Devilman Crybaby: Manga or the most recent Netflix show. Ghost in the Shell: The movie from 1995. Berserk: Either start with either the Golden Age arc trilogy movies, or the 1997 show, then go the Manga, or just read the Manga if you prefer it. Don't watch the two most recent adaptations, they're garbage. There is however plenty of rape in the story. But it's not glorified, it's actually quite horrific. Neon Genesis Evangelion : The show from 1995 as well as the film "The End of Evangelion", but be aware of depression. Akira: The movie is phenomenal, the Manga is great as well.

rare w find on netflix, netflix doesnt have a lot of good anime available but i really enjoyed this. waited well over a year for a s2 reveal but i guess that aint happening any time soon.
I love how shin and noi's special combo attack is that shin just rushes the enemy recklessly while noi actively heals him. They basically out dps the enemy.

I'm just glad I never heard anyone ever say the cg in Dorohedoro was bad. This was adapted from the manga so fucken well, and using cgi gave them even more opportunities to have creative expressions.
Because it was dynamic, detailed and within appropriately picked shots. The hand drawings and model quality blended well enough that at times the transition between the two is unnoticeable. They had a really great director and a very dedicated team for model quality and animation.
Guess its the best they can do with cgi, the problem with dorohedoro is that its almost unadaptable in terms of visual artstyle. The art of Hayashida Q that looks like blots in school textbook is magnificent and perfect to highlight the grotesqueness and dirtiness of the Hole-world, monumental ghetto/favela like buildings, and in imo gives extra credit for gore moments in form of the mix of blood and dirt. As i expected, there were not enough "dirt" in anime (Dorohedoro literally means "Dirty dirt" after all) and the gore was too merciful. I think that the best option for dorohedoro is the animation in form of black&white "blots and inks that came alive" but it would require too high budget and workforce then(

It is later referenced in the manga as being the essence of the Hole: Mud and Sludge, as a character damn nearly title drops it while talking about how he fell in the lake. It does not or even can translate as Dirty Dirt.
@@NewNecro i know its a week later but you are absolutely correct, they actually made sure the characters and the cg used fit together. there will always be weirdness with cg anime compared to 2d as anyone with eyes can see the difference however its done well and tastefully here where it counts (usually, the last scene of this video shows why it can come off weird with mr bird man being a little to... fake? he just doesnt fit the scene all that well) this is studio Mappa... and this is what they can do with cg anime. however this same studio seems to have lost all ability to animate cg when it comes to AoT... it just confuses the fuck outta me how they went from a good looking anime like this and jujustu kaiden to AoT. that being said even AoT isnt their worst anime i have seen, for i watched fully the sacred beasts anime (i dont member full name so i am sorry might have been attack of the sacred beasts or some shit but i digress) that anime was a joke from start to finish in terms of animation quality...

It's still a competing industry with constraints of deadlines, new employees and different work experiences. It holds true for most animation studios to have ace teams making high quality episodes/scenes and trainees or freelance teams lacking the usual quality.
The cg looks fantastic here
Dorohedoro's violence is shocking at first, but after awhile it becomes almost comedic in how casual it becomes. Like Shin gets disemboweled and then casually takes Noi to see a decurser with his intestines still hanging out like it was a regular occurence.

@@olviotic Since this is animated by studio MAPPA, it might take a bit since MAPPA is working on Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan: Final Season. Maybe once these are finished, Dorohedoro season 2 can start being developed. Unless studio MAPPA has been working on Dorohedoro this whole time but it’s just taking a while. Either way, I’m sure season 2 will come out sooner or later.
I know that En and his group are supposed to be the “bad guys” but they ended up being my favorites. I love how they take care of each other and they have a code that they pretty much abide by. Get by on your own strength, take care of your comrades, loyalty above everything. It’s awesome.
En and his group is why I call Dorohedoro anime Pulp Fiction. En is basically Marsellus Wallace, Shin and Noi are like Jules and Vincent.
The thing about this anime is that you kind of end up rooting for everyone

What's funny and cool about the Dorohedoro world is that they treat gore very casually. Or at least the citizens of Hole. Like, the dude at 2:07 wasn't even screaming in pain about losing his eye or anything, he's just sad that his eyeball got stepped on.

The thing I love the most about this show is that there's no sex jokes/ harrasment and other extremely degenerate things any other story with lots of violence. I don't count showing Noi's naked body because it haven't felt like fanservice or any characters showed "that" reaction toward my gurl. Even Ebisu is portrayed as a naive beyond stupid youth with a severe head trauma who has a heavy role within the script and not as a sidecharacter created purely for sex jokes. Idk how to explain my thoughts, I just want to say that dorohe is the greatest story with lots of gore, amaizing worldbilding and a heavy storyline. And no fcking harrasment jokes. Zero!!! Do you hear me?? ZERO rape attempts in the story. ZERO!! Hayashida Q is amazing! And everyone who participated in creation of this anime is amazing too. P.S. What are you talking about? There are plenty of sex jokes. You must have completely forgot about every other scene with Ebisu. And just because you "don't count" the scenes with Noi doesn't mean anything. Plenty of people still count that. You're trying your hardest to make this into something you approve of by creating these false standards the series isn't going to live up to. As far as 18+ manga without sex? I am assuming you mean like the explicit act of intercourse and not just sexual themes - You might want to stick with shonen-level manga unless you're into space operas or strict military-based manga, pure horror, and even those manage to toss in the occasional sex scene or 'rape' scenario. Stick to shonen-level action or comfy slice-of-life mangas about absolutely nothing, i guess.

It's a show for grown ups, not for pubescent 16 year olds, which is where the anime industry sadly makes it's money. That's also why mature stories like this one rarely get an adaptation and even more rarely a second season. There are some sexually explicit scenes, but they are handled like a normal adult would handle them. Aka. not the "oh no you've seen me naked, now I'll never be able to marry“ treatment.
Oh yeah I forgot. Finding an 18+ show without sex scenes is difficult. I do however know a bunch of Mangas/shows that are 18+ and really good. Devilman Crybaby: Manga or the most recent Netflix show. Ghost in the Shell: The movie from 1995. Berserk: Either start with either the Golden Age arc trilogy movies, or the 1997 show, then go the Manga, or just read the Manga if you prefer it. Don't watch the two most recent adaptations, they're garbage. There is however plenty of rape in the story. But it's not glorified, it's actually quite horrific. Neon Genesis Evangelion : The show from 1995 as well as the film "The End of Evangelion", but be aware of depression. Akira: The movie is phenomenal, the Manga is great as well.

They had to do CGI for AOT because they had 8 months (8 freaking months) for part 1 and almost a year for part 2 and still it looked pretty good. They wanted to do it in 2d

The thing is the lil girl wearing the skull mask would be everyone's favorite if everyone was able to see how she truly fights but since the lizard dude how to mess her up so badly we won't have a chance to see her true colors yet.
