Happy new year, Ladies and Gentlemen! I wish you all one successful and a healthy new year and at least one supercar in your garage in 2023! And to celebrate properly the beginning of the new year I have an awesome episode for you!
A drag race in the WET between two classic family supercar icons, the BMW M8 Competition GranCoupe with it's 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 Engine producing 625HP and 750Nm against a tuned by Brabus Mercedes-Benz AMG GT63 S putting 700HP and 1000Nm from it's 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8.

Power wise I must accept the loss from BMW. However design wise my preference is Mercedes all the way, but BMW has always been an performance focused car. The problem with Mercedes seems to be the lack of innovation towards performance enhancements nowadays.. they seem to be more focussed on safety features.
This race is actually better captured than the ones I have seen on other platforms. It so well done.

Fun story: I used to be a huge Mercedes AMG fanatic, even though I never owned one I was still a huge fan. I remember i went to a Mercedes dealership and the treatment was so shitty, I then got my first M-Sport 335I and fell in love with BMW. I then moved on to a 4-series. And here I am today soon to purchase an M8!

Its wet. Merc is on summer tyres.... BMW is on winters. Draw your own conclusions from there.

@@VisionaryGroup it literally writes its wet race and tyre type on start of video. Summer tyre on wet vs winters is huge disadvantage.

@@sudhikrish9785So? It’s still really impressive. Keep in Mind, the GT63 has 75 HP and 250 NM more, so the only real advantage here was the weight for the M8. Even if you put both on equal Conditions, the GT63S would still lose, cause M Cars are just better.

BMW grossly under estimates it’s engine power so it’s that much more impressive to beat a tuned Merc. Additionally the M8’s launch mode is brutal. I’ve seen in others where the front wheels are chirping.

In terms of performance you're right... but mercedes has 700Horses, which means 'by power' they are not evenly matched

It only proves that they lie about the hp of their cars, how naive one must be to believe that the bmw is actually 625hp ?
Remember they reduced the original horsepower in the AMG
@@Shadowedge1000 yup, bmw horsepower is 650hp. But 50hp less than brabus. And nm is 860 amd brabus +1000nm. And still bmw won.
You can't win the race on the wrong tires and having different temperatures. The Brabus had that issue.

Аз съм си горд собственик и фен на БМВ и този клип е още едно доказателство за това "Какво аджеба ги вършат от БМВ " Сега си представете ако БМВ-то беше и с едни нови летни Мишелинки , Мерцедес-а щеше да изплези още повече езика, да не говорим за Alpine и G-Power или Hamman версия на това БМВ

Guys that bmw m8 comp is a just beautifull, but dont be blind ita not stock has upgraded exhaust also for sure it has tune on it. Also tbe summer tyres if they are agresive its a disadvantage it theesw cpnditions.
The car has an akrapovic slip-on and no tune 😊

Very good race and thank you for capturing it in a such professional way. BMW M8 sound could be a bit more aggressive while GT63 felt a bit too much to me.

My cousin owns a M8 comp the coupe. Both cars are amazing but definitely bmw is underrating the hp I’ve driven the m8 and that car fast af. Honestly i prefer the GT63 just because of the interiors and looks

@@Amarjit_Singh regardless of the tires. It’s tuned and the 100-200kph times are still only the same (even slower on first run) than a stock m8 comp.

Надо сравнивать с ним BMW на STAGE 1 как минимум. initially, it was not an honest comparison, since the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe was standard from the factory, and the Mercedes AMG GT 63S was tuned by Brabus, which was initially several times more powerful. It is necessary to compare BMW with him on STAGE 1 at least.
This is what we had available in our little county but i think the race was dead even between the two.
