BANGLADESH: Sunken Country | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch ' Namibia: From German Colony to Africa’s New Far West ' here: • Namibia: From German C...
By 2050, 30% of Bangladesh will be under water. One in three inhabitants, some 60 million people, are threatened by marine flooding. No other country in the world is so at risk from rising waters. The main culprit: global warming.
To the south, in the Ganges delta, the salt water that invades the land has disrupted the entire economy of the region. Many farmers have had to convert their rice paddies into shrimp farms, which are much less profitable. The country is also threatened from within by its gigantic rivers. The melting ice of the Himalayas and heavy monsoon rains are dangerously increasing their flow. Every year, the rivers bursts their banks and tens of thousands of homes are washed away. Every year, nearly 15,000 children drown in the rising waters.
Due to all these natural disasters, Dhaka, the capital, is facing a massive influx of climate refugees. Having lost everything, they are looking for odd jobs to survive. Korban Ali became a tricycle driver to transport people. He works 12 hours a day, seven days a week, in the hope of providing a better life for his children.
Bangladesh is also battling extreme pollution caused largely by the textile industry. Every day tons of toxic waste are released into nature. Sewage treatment plants empty their tanks loaded with carcinogenic chemicals directly into the rivers. But a new middle and upper class wants to change mentalities. The first model companies are emerging. Jahirul was educated in Australia. Now director of a ship dismantling yard, he has invested 10 million euros to be able to reprocess hazardous waste, such as asbestos, batteries and engine oils.

Before that every Russian mother had 6 childen and few dogs. I saw a figure today. the 1,000 wealthiest people on the planet have more than 8 BILLION poor people. that is staggering and suffocating.

If you say " no" she has the kids follow you for 2 blocks begging money. This would happen several times every time I went downtown in Surigao City. I finally got tired and had an idea. I had to go downtown and there was a woman like what I mentioned above. I reached into my pocket and then extended my closed fist palm down. She put out her hand and I dropped some rubbers in it. They must talk among themselves as they never approached me after that. But one that sticks out was when I was at an ATM and the line was long, about 12 people ahead of me, ALL Filipinos. A woman came along and stood where people exited the ATM. Not once she she ask or put out her hand to the Filipinos. But when I finished and walked her hand shot out faster than a fart disappears in a hurricane.

You can't even swim in any of them or your risk major infects or possible future cancer from what has been dumped into them. It is just the outcome of Capital abusing sovereignty and the people of countries, as it continues to since its inception. Heavy regulations need to be put in place to recover what they have lost.

However, As they are lower class from the economy's perspectives . Time to think deeply why having more kids although unable to provide a quality life. Lastly what is responsible for this issue is not having proper knowledge regarding Soil eroson in the river side people, Depositing money for up coming future.

I live here & I know how it is ? This is a old video, now things changed a lot.
