I think it's a bit disappointing compared to zombie kittens. but with this one I think it could be played with expansions to make it more fun while zombie kittens I feel it shouldn't
I definitely see where you're coming from! Zombie was perhaps the most expansion-like base game in the series, whereas Good Vs Evil sets out to be a light spin on the original game. The main selling point of this version is the Godcat card. The implications of that card are ridiculous, especially when you include it with other sets and expansions. Thanks so much for producing this review, it is great to finally have a spokesperson for the community. Also to answer you question on your previous post about whether the god cat card is the most powerful card in the game, I would argue that it generally isn’t due to it having a unique card back. You could argue that the card is more powerful in decks with a greater variety of cards, however even so, unless you have the tower of power to protect you, you are forced to rush playing this card to get value any from it. This may sound a little strange, but I honestly think that the feral cat card is the best card in the game, as that 3 of a kind combo which it helps you get can not only removes another players defuse, but then proceed to force them to give it to you.

You and I getting to connect like this is an example of that. I couldn’t agree with you more on the Godcat card. The unique backing alone makes it a prime target for theft. That, and the fact that it can’t be Noped adds another downside. Also, I’m with you on the Feral Cat card. I can’t tell you how many times that card has come through for me. The 3-card combo is one of the most powerful moves in the game. Heck, even the 2-card combo is a lethal move. This also gets me thinking about the potential of a “Super Favor” card, one where you could essentially use it as a 3-card combo. Ideas aside, the Feral Cat is a phenomenal card.

I finally bought this version of EK. I have all expansions and all different variations of the game and create the ultimate EK game by adding some cards from all expansions and variations into one huge deck, max of 12 players.
Whoaaa that's awesome!! What a cool collection to have. Plus that 12 player option is a major plus. Seeing as you're a seasoned EK collector, I have two questions for you. 1. What is your favorite EK base game? 2. What is your favorite expansion? Looking forward to your answer!

Ive got a question before purchasing. Do the cards have symbols at the corner for easy reference if we wanna play with either less players to max number of players just like in zombie kittens and exploding minions?

Hi! Many thanks for the review. It was really useful. I was going to buy the game after playing it for the first time the other day and I was wondering what version of the game should I buy, the regular one or this one you just reviewed. After many thoughts I decided to buy this one but I just realized that being the cover of the cards different from the ones in the expansion cards, its not going to be possible to play with expansions. Luckily the backs of these cards are the same as other base games and expansions. However, the backs of both the Godcat and Devilcat card are different. This won't affect the gameplay unless someone possesses the Godcat card, in which case it makes it easier for other players to steal it. Beyond that, the cards look the same as those from other sets. I'm definitely interested to see how it does! Also, if you take a look at the cards included in Good Vs Evil, I believe the cast of the show is hidden in the game. They use the same characters throughout all of the cards. But... that's just a theory.

My question for you is, could you potentially use another EK base game (good vs evil or zombie kittens) as an expansion instead to add to my party pack + barking kittens OR should I just go with recipes for disaster?

So can the God cat be a Streaking kitten card? You don’t exactly PLAY that card, but it only specifies it can’t be a Nope, and don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to use it as one. Also, can you use the God cat as another Armageddon cat? The chaos that would ensue… If you use the God cat card as a Barking kitten, and multiple people have the other barking kittens, could you steal/explode multiple players at once? The God card could be the Tower of power, protecting your cards from being stolen… The potential of that card is ridiculous…
I couldn't agree more that the implications of the Godcat card are ridiculous! I'm sure that Exploding Kittens will be clarifying how this card works with other cards and expansions in the near future, in the same way that they had to with the Curse of the Cat Butt card. As it currently stands, when looking at the rules, the ONLY card that it cannot become is a Nope. That's one heck of a powerful card!
Hi there! As I understand it, whilst it says that the god cat card can become any card in the game, this isn’t actually quite the case. Since on the card itself it states ‘play as any card in the game’ this means that cards like the streaking kitten which you don’t play don’t count. It is a bit of a grey area but I hope this helps 😁
That’s an excellent point! And it makes sense. It needs to be a playable card, immediately ruling out the Streaking Kitten, Exploding Kitten and Imploding Kitten. There might be others that I’m missing as well, but those are the ones that come to mind. Thanks for shedding some light on this!🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Hi and thanks for commenting! That’s a great question. I would say the first option for sure! The main reason being that the Party Pack is just like the base game, but with more cards. However, if you combined both Good Vs Evil and the base game, you’d get a bit more variety. Also, RFD is a great option!! That set will get you the absolute most for your money, more than anything else in the series. Take care and I hope you end up with a mix that you really enjoy!

I've had this requested so much here recently! It's in the very early stages, but I'm working on putting together a video for different Recipe cards. Those are definitely the way to go, as opposed to combining everything, which just turns into a 2-hour war. Lol
What would be the best versions of EK to pair with good vs evil? It feels like the gameplay is quite limited since there’s no skips
Great question! I would say the Party Pack for sure. It would do a solid job of filling in the gaps that Good Vs Evil has, especially so since it comes with so many of each type of card. The only downside is that it might make it a longer game, but then again, that might be a plus for some. Take care and hopefully this helps!
I don't think the attack card can stack. Because if the player attacked play attack card it will skip drawing any card resulting to not stacking the effect. The mobile app card single, double, and triple slap cards are the stackable version of attack. Or atleast that's what me and my friends been doing for the attack cards.
According to the new Good Vs Evil rules, they CAN stack! It's listed under the terms for the Attack card. However, whether or not this was clarified in previous expansions and editions, that would require a look. As far as this game goes, Attack cards are stackable. Take care and thanks for commenting!

Hi there, I bought the original Exploding Kittens card game but it seems quite small. Is this an expansion version or the original size? Also, can it accommodate 6 players? Thanks
Hello and thanks for commenting! That’s a great question. This edition will be similar in size to the original game and allows for 5 players to join. If ever you’re looking for a way to expand the pool of players, adding the Party Pack is a great way to go! It will add 10 additional players and over 100 cards to the game. Hello and thanks for commenting! While any of those options would work, I think a Recipe would be perfect. Good Vs Evil has a few cool cards, but it also contains a lot of older ones too. You could easily take the Armageddon card, the Godcat card and the Devilcat card and add it to a Recipe. Take care and hopefully this helps!

That’s a great question! This game-while an official part of the EK universe-is a tie-in game for an EK show releasing on Netflix later this year. I think it comes out in December.

Haha that’s a valid question! Somewhere along the way of making these videos I got into the habit of calling them “animations”, but really they’re illustrations. Why that’s the case, seeing as I know what illustrations are, I have no idea. Lol I need to switch the word to “illustrations” in my next video. Thanks for bringing this to light!!

Good vs evil or zombie kitten , which one is better ?
Oooohh that's a tough one. I'd say that it comes down to which edition gives you more for your money. In that case, it's Zombie Kittens. While Good Vs Evil is amazing, it includes a lot of cards from the base game. Zombie Kittens is almost an entirely new game, with lots of fun new game mechanics. Take care and hopefully this helps!

Can “god cat” be “streaking kitten” or no
Great question! The Godcat card cannot become a Streaking Kitten. It can only become a “playable” card in the game, meaning that it must be discarded to become active. Take care and hopefully this helps!
