  • So Deutsche must have been WRITING CDS against Credit Suisse bonds. So since Credit Suisse technically failed, now Deutsche has to PAY OUT CDS Bond losses to their counter parties. That is what happened to AIG ack in 2008-2009. AIG wrote SWAPS (back in early 2000) that that total value was 50x AIG's company market cap.

  • Germany has only 1 large bank just Deutsche Bank so there is no other bank to merge it with as far as I am aware.
