The Escalade's styling was updated in 2021, and last year Cadillac introduced the Escalade V trim with more aggressive styling and nearly 700 horsepower, a bonkers amount of muscle for a large SUV weighing almost 6,000 pounds. Even the base engine, a 6.2-liter V8, is quite spritely (6.7 seconds to 60 mph) for a vehicle of its size.
Competitors to consider
Competitors to the Escalade include the Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Like the Escalade, the Navigator is available in both standard- and long-wheelbase versions and offers an even more sumptuous interior than the Cadillac. The Mercedes-Benz GLS lacks the Escalade's outright interior space and towing capability, but its technology and interior materials are impressive. The same could be said for the BMW X7, which is smaller, loaded with tech, and more fun in a fast turn. The go-to for the British elite, the Range Rover, is also another contender at this level.
