for those who say she shouts should understand that its impossible for anyone to sing in such pitches without loosing the control on modulation. None lets say arunitha or pawan cannot sing such songs without the shake in their voices. She is unique and none can beat her versatility.

As an Indian American, I rarely hear such strong vocals in Indian music! India tends to favor soft, delicate voices that sound sweet and have incredible agility (Indian music is inherently very melismatic), but Shanmukhapriya is bringing a much more Christina Aguilera-esque sound, much more Western vocal technique, which definitely favors strong belts, growls, vocal fries, whistle tones, and almost operatic vibrato. It’s new to hear that in Indian music!

She is actually a classical singer.. as a child she sang numerous songs which are classical based in telugu tv shows.. I think now she wants to go next level and that's why in North shows she is singing mostly this type of songs.. she has a strong classical base and sang several songs including a show where SPB was a judge.. she is exceptional in all types of songs.. infact I'm surprised to see this side of her, bcos we all in telugu already know she is a super singer..

@@jairambardwa1230 Harkats basically refer to 'riffs and runs'. Like in Indian Classical we have 'gamaka', or 'taan' - which are types of harkat/riff, and in western music we have 'glissando' or 'staccato'. Harkat exists in Western music as well but just in a different way than Indian Classical music. I used 'harkat' instead of 'riff and run' in my comment because Indians can understand that term better
