When i first saw this i was new to grappling. Now watching it again i realize how insane it is that Lachlin submitted Duarte who just won his division.
Gary and Gordon obviously planned that one. Gary lost intentionally and had to make it look realistic to not tire Gordon out for the rest of the absolute.

Yes they test to make sure they’re all on PED’s
no (pretty much) everyone is doped in grappling
They get test alright
Not in ADCC, but it can be the case in IBJJF, it's all about the competition
So basically they’re all cheating.
Have points start right away no other sport doesn’t allow you to score right away
its meant to encourage guys to take risk without losing points as consequence by losing position. unfortunately, athletes take advantage and make it boring
@@amart23they take “advantage” of this BECAUSE IT’S STUPID. If I can’t score points why should I put in effort. generally doing offense is more tiring than being on defense this is well known. Award action always or else you will get these gentle men agreements where we don’t work until points are up
@@amart23I’d even be down for halving the points scored for half the match just so long as there is still tracking of who is in a dominant position
@@matthewlee8618yeah bc ibjjf matches are way more exciting right 😂, stalling is even worse when points are there from the beginning bc there is basically no risk taking
@@yannmoyes2493I mean I watched the whole open division besides really tsprigs there was not a lot of actions or attempts. Obviously ADCC is the best but taking away points in favor of longer matches really just doesn’t do justice to who’s in control of the match from the beginning and jujitsu is about control. Honestly prolonging matches may be the problem not the rules. Wrestling gets longer in college and it can be more boring to a casual fan because they wait to score because of the fear of fatigue
