  • Aww, they didn’t mention the durian during the “foods considered disgusting” section. My favorite thing is that the dude who had that Travel Channel show where he’d eat the craziest food he could find COULDNT stomach a durian. The funniest thing to watch this guy gagging under a durian tree when he’d eaten like testicles earlier in the episode 😂

    • The crazy thing about durian is that the flavor is actually quite mild -- somewhere between pineapple and coconut flesh. The smell, though, is absolutely rank.

  • Eating raw onion is amazing for you, as far as food can be that is, there are a whole host of healthy chemicals in onions that serve some actual functions in even fighting some diseases.

    @ConstantChaos1@ConstantChaos1 Жыл бұрын
    • The same can be said for nearly every edible thing.

      @dcs002@dcs0026 ай бұрын
    • @dcs002 I was super high when i wrote this but that is simply untrue, if you want me to be specific "The major flavonoids in onion are two quercetin glycosides, quercetin 4'-O-beta-glucoside (Q4'G) and quercetin 3,4'-O-beta-diglucosides (Q3,4'G), which are recognized as bioactive substances that are good for our health." - Ioku K, Aoyama Y, Tokuno A, Terao J, Nakatani N, Takei Y. Various cooking methods and the flavonoid content in onion. J Nutr Sci Vitaminol (Tokyo). 2001 Feb;47(1):78-83. doi: 10.3177/jnsv.47.78. PMID: 11349895. While many edible substances contain some chemicals used for fighting diseases that is far from the case for many many many foods we eat. What's more the flavonoid density and composition of raw onions is abnormally high and abnormally beneficial for a food. And finally many "edible" foods contain substances that are actively negative for your health like alcoholic beverages or processed foods in America. In short my comment was a little on the vague side, even to its detriment as a fun fact, but your response is more than a little on the incorrect side of being too vague.
